Anthony Hamilton will be releasing a new album in early 2012, featuring the lead single "Woo" produced by Babyface.

Just heard a song, Never Let Go, that features Keri Hilson. It's pretty nice. By far, one of the most radio friendly songs I've heard from him.

I don't like it. It sounds like something I would expect more from Keri Hilson than him. Not here for that kind of song from him.

I feel the same way about this album that I feel about most of his albums. There are a handful of songs that I really like (the first few specifically) and the rest is just pleasant. I don't think it's bad, but I'm not in love with either either.

I was feeling the album until "Promise" i mean "Never Let Go".
Production-wise most of "Never Let Go" sounds exactly like "Promise" by Ciara could Polow be any f**king lazier? I know Anthony worked with more mainstream writers this time around but he was still able to maintain his sound (it just sounds a bit more refined/modern in the case with some songs) but "Never Let Go" sticks out like a sore thumb on this album.
I think it was a (bad) label decision to include that on the album it's not a terrible song and it's the most mainstream song he's recorded to date but I'm just not here for Anthony singing over electronic influenced R&B beats.
That song sounds like it was recorded for Keri's debut to be honest.
Other than that this album is on par with his last album on first listen. It's very pleasant.

His voice keeps me listening through all his albums though they aren't always fantastic. The last album had a lot more gems than this one though.

I am looking forward to this effort. It seems like his albums progressively become more cohesive and refined.

I like it but I'm not blown away and I don't feel compelled to run out and purchase this on Tuesday.
Sidenote: Jerry Wonda produced NLG, not Polow.

My fear for this album was that it would be an organic, concept-like album. And i am so releaved it's not! It's his most commercial sounding album to date.
I give it a solid A.
Babyface's input and presence on this album is both mesmerizing and a longtime coming! He brings a 90s R&B feel to the album, which creates a welcome cohesive flow throughout the record. Mix neo-soul ballads with 90s R&B/Soul midtempos, and you have a classic to Hamilton album! Anthony Hamilton and Babyface's productions and background vocals on this record are sweet, sweet sweet!
The obvious standout tracks are Whos loving You, Pray for Me and the groovy title track Back to Love.
The whole album is a great listen. Hopefully this album gets the succes it deserves. The whole Robin Thicke and Mary J sales drama better not touch this gem of an album. Enough with R&B Albums flopping this December!
I so recommend this album to anyone who loves R&B, and who loves great sounding music by great sounding people!

Back to Love Writing On the Wall Pray for Me Never Let Go Mad I'll Wait to Fall in Love Who's Loving You Now Life Has a Way Broken Man
It's a definite grower once you take the time to listen to it in full.

Currently has a score of 85 at Metacritic, signifying Universal acclaim. With 5 reviews.
Below are excerps of the reviews:
Los Angeles Times ..."Hamilton neither chases trends nor makes fetish of retro sounds and influences. Instead, he finds powerful common ground between vintage influences and modern production."
Entertainment Weekly ..."Back to Love is as solid as any of his previous six albums, but its high points are the three tunes co-produced by Babyface."
The New York Times ..."He sounds marvelous."... Boston Globe ..."The smooth-groove classicism here is just part of Hamilton's mature command of the form, with none of neo-soul's studied Afro-Sheen patina."

I still don't really care for Keri track after listening to the album a second time. This album does have much better production than his last, and the writing is stronger.
"The Point of it All" sold 113K it's opening week and it ended up at #11. So I think this one will sell at least 95K the first week.

Enough with R&B Albums flopping this December! Yeah, given the recent underperformance of a handful of Urban AC oriented albums, I wouldn't be surprised to see this underperform as well.

And i'm ok with that! 60k is kinda decent, considering the FACTORS. If he can make it 70k+, it would be well deserved!

I really thought he would've cracked 100k easily but I guess Woo wasn't strong enough of a lead single.

Me too. I was bargaining on 80k - 90k at the least. And he did do some promo, albeit not much. *BET 106 and Park *Live with Kelly! *And a few shows here and there.
"Woo" is currently Top 10 on Urban AC, and climbing. I wish they would send the song for adds at Urban Mainstream.
If they handle the singles correctly, this album could do fairly decent in 2012.
The singles should be: 1. "Woo" 2. "Who's loving You" 3. "Pray for me".

As long as it aint the Second single, because than i would be so pissed!! That would just mess up the whole era Shooter! It's not a hit, it aint gonna be a hit. Not on Urban AC, and not on Urban. It can sit and look pretty on the album, for all i care. I'm gonna get a coronary if they release that song!!!!!!!

The first 3 tracks are the strongest. I wasn't particularly impressed by the rest on 1st listen. The title track would make a good single. LOL @ the track with Keri sounding exactly like Ciara's 'Promise'

"Pray for Me" should be the 2nd single, then they should release the title track or "I'll Wait (To Fall in Love)" as the 3rd single. I hope they don't release "Never Let Go" but I'm sure they will since it sounds so mainstream smh. "Who's Loving You" is too adult pop sounding to work as a single. Edit: I forgot about the deluxe tracks. Any one of those four songs could work as a single. Oh and I'm disappointed by the sales . I hope it still ends up going Gold. This is a very solid album and it's the first Anthony Hamilton album that I've purchased. It deserved to do better than 60K.
