Wow, this is good! :o
I've always loved Bucky, so I'm glad that he's back. I just hope he can have a shot at having some moderate success like he had with his first record! Regardless, I'm looking forward to a long-awaited sophomore release. ;)

Thanks, Phil, for posting Bucky's new song, "I Wanna Be That Feeling". I love it. Glad it is mid-tempo and shows off his unique vocals. The lyrics are good and I find myself humming it after several listens. Needless to say ,I have missed this guy on the charts and am hoping this will reach top 10 as some of his first songs did. Cannot wait for a follow-up album.

This is a good song, but I have my doubts that it will do much, if anything, on the chart.

This is a good song, but I have my doubts that it will do much, if anything, on the chart. Actually, E1 is the largest indie label in the USA and world. They're also the same company that got David Lee Murphy into the Top 10 and even managed to squeak mild chart successes (Top 40) for bands like Confederate Railroad and (Top 30) Restless Heart. While most of the team at the label are different than the past Audium/Koch days, E1 Nashville has quite a few people who were at Universal South back before the merger so I think it's very possible they get Bucky on the charts and that he can do well, particularly since E1 is basically ramping up the label in Nashville after being dormant for most of the past six years except for their releases/re-issues of stuff like the Daryle Singletary project from a couple years ago. E1 also got previously dormant rock band Bush back to #1 on the Billboard rock charts and also has bands like supergroup Chickenfoot doing well as well. Not to mention their strong hiphop/R&B label. That being said, radio may decide to do nothing with the song outside a few curious listens.

^Yeah, I read that the Nashville division didn't get going until recently, within the last year or two. Maybe in the past, eOne got some people some hits, but I just don't see it happening right now.
There are a lot of new guys out there, many of them on bigger labels, and some of them can't get a hit even if they're on a bigger label, so with Bucky having basically zero momentum, I doubt this will do much.

To promote in radio, it just takes a willingness to spend the $$ (to pay for promo talent) to 'sell' the programmers on a song. Bucky's still got a 'name' and I'd bet on his label getting him a hit before the 'majors' getting unknowns hits, particularly with strong songs.

So whatever happened to this? I don't think we ever got an adds date and there was supposed to be a video (rsmatto said he was there). ???

It picked up a station add a week or two ago, and from what I can tell, they got New Revolution to do radio promotion for this, but they still haven't really pushed it out to mainstream radio. NR has promoted some singles for Curb artists (Steve Holy's "Love Don't Run") and they're also doing The Farm's "Home Sweet Home" for WMN/Elektra Nashville.
I like this as well but with Bucky being on one of the smallest indie labels (eOne), this won't have much of a shot on mainstream radio. It could do something on the secondary charts, or maybe if it gets an adds date then New Revolution could do something with it on the main chart.

It's been charting on the Music Row charts for a while now (10 weeks). It's at #57 this week.

^Your point? Matt's post from several months ago was a response to one of my posts. Of course I read it. But maybe you missed this part: E1 is basically ramping up the label in Nashville after being dormant for most of the past six years except for their releases/re-issues of stuff like the Daryle Singletary project from a couple years ago. Let's do some research here, shall we? The Nashville division of eOne is basically all new. Notice this other part of Matt's post where it says eOne's Nashville division has been dormant for more than 6 years now. I wouldn't call that a major indie label. The eOne name or brand is "big", yes...but among all the independent labels in Nashville, it's tiny, especially when they haven't charted anything in many, many years, while I'm sure you've heard of other Nashville indie labels like Big Machine, Curb, Show Dog-Universal, Broken Bow, Bigger Picture Group, Average Joe's, Black River, R&J, Rodeowave, etc. Here's what my research on E1 came up with. From the E1 Nashville website, their artist roster consists of Bucky, plus Amy Stroup, David Ball, Brandon Jenkins, Jerry Douglas, Jimmy Webb, John Cowan, Richie Owen & The Farm Bureau, and Shooter Jennings. None of those artists have charted a single on Billboard under the E1 label. Maybe in a few years eOne's Nashville division will have some strength and be able to get on the charts like we've seen recently with Average Joe's, Black River, Bigger Picture, etc. But right now, I'd say they're pretty close to the bottom of the pile when it comes to indie labels in Nashville. The staff is new, none of the artists are household names.. I thought I gave a pretty nice answer. Didn't get a great response though.

^ I don't appreciate your tone as if I made some sort of personal attack on you. I merely read a discrepency in this thread between you and him. He said point-blank that E1 was one of the largest indie labels in the world previously when you said something regarding the label being small, so I didn't understand. And in re: to the Nashville division being "dormant," rsmatto combined that factoid with this as well: "I think it's very possible they get Bucky on the charts and that he can do well."
For the most part, I admire your posting jhomes very much. The cattiness was unnecessary though.

Apologies, but when you responded, it also seemed rather snark to me, since you hadn't said anything but merely quoted a months-old post that I was well aware of.
It's all good. No harm done. As far as this song goes, it seems like a good fit for the summer, but I'm not sure what's really going on, other than that it seems like Bucky might've partnered with New Revolution for promotion, likely because E1 Nashville is just getting back on its feet again. But unless this starts getting some adds, I don't really see it doing much at this point anymore.

Yeah, I really hope they do something with this, but we first were hearing about it back in October 2011, and quite some time has passed with virtually nothing (I guess its supposedly been charting at Music Row, but it looks to be pretty low on that one even). Shame, because I always liked Bucky and thought he had a good voice. This is a great radio song too.

This song just got re-uploaded under Cool New Music on AllAccess, with the label listed as New Revolution Entertainment/eOne Nashville, so it could mean they're getting ready to work this to radio a bit.
EDIT: According to the blog Keepin' It Country, this song was in fact released to radio this week.

Awesome! This has been a long time coming, but I'm definitely pulling for it to do something. Its a shame his second album never ended up getting released, and that A Father's Love didn't make the Top 20.

According to Bucky's twitter, the video will premiere on GAC at 4:41 pm this Mon (4/30).
He has mentioned late summer/September as the time frame for releasing the album.
