This is Carrie's best Christmas song & one of my personal favorite vocal performances from her.
The only thing I don't care for is the children's choir that comes out of nowhere towards the end. Not here for that.

I'm more for her "O Holy Night" for the very reason of the children's choir in this song. This is a vocal masterpiece, however. Although, I wish she would crescendo into the final "Noel" to hit it big instead of going for it in falsetto. It sounds great but I always love a belter and on this song, that would sound perfect!

This is definitely the best Christmas song she has recorded. I love everything about it, including the children's choir at the end.

^^^ How did I not hear this until just now ? This is one of my favourite vocal performances from Carrie. Her voice is so delicate, tender, yet strong. I love the cracking in her voice during the verses- it adds a special touch to this song. The denouement of the song in falsetto is just gorgeous.
Probably my favourite rendition I heard of 'Noel' to date. A+
ETA: I am going to post this in Carrie's thread, in case others have not had the pleasure of experiencing this song.

It was part of the 5 song package thing in 2008 when "Carnival Ride" was rereleased with 5 Christmas songs.. Where have you been?

That's why Promotion is a must. Not that i say Carrie doesn't (didn't) do promo. The First Noel was a part of Carnival Ride's re-release and the stock for this album was very minimum. That's why not everybody knows. :)

Which is why I quoted neally, and not you.
