First off, there are a couple of questionable acts on there:
1) Chevelle has not technically classified themselves as a "Christian Rock" band (at least, not to my knowledge). However, cmcentral.com does include them in their listings because they have Christian ideals. It's all in the interpretation I guess. And are they really "crossover"? I mean, by that it would mean they had success on Christian radio before going for mainstream success.
2) Creed was always an ambiguous band. They never declared themselves as Christian at first, so many people thought they were because of their music. However, since then, the band has severed the links to Christian music that they had and instead are now completely mainstream.

I also wouldn't put Creed on this list. I don't think they charted in this genre. They could be replaced with MercyMe
I'll vote Switchfoot.

Yeah, Creed shouldn't be included.
Yes, Jay, Chevelle did have success at Christian first, they had the #1 Christian rock song of the entire year 2000 with "Point #1."
Anyway..tough to vote on "best"..I love both Jars and Switchfoot, I guess since the latter is making a little more of an impact mainstream-wise, I'll vote for them for now.

Yes, Jay, Chevelle did have success at Christian first, they had the #1 Christian rock song of the entire year 2000 with "Point #1." Are they still considered "Christian"? Because cmcentral.com seemed to hint it was ambiguous...

"No, we are not a Christian band. A Christian band has an agenda to lead others to believe in their specific religious beliefs. We have no agenda!" - Scott Stapp, Creed (got it from rockonthenet.com)
Either way, I voted for Stacie. Go Stacie, Go Stacie, it's your birthday, it's your birthday. :)

Gotta be Stacie. I may not agree with her beliefs, but Strong Enough is still one of the most beautiful songs of all time.

Chevelle had Christian market distribution prior to signing with Epic. ... but then they went completely mainstream and no longer service the Christian radio market. I guess I take "crossover" acts to be those that appeal to their core audience and also to another format, but if we are including bands that left the Christian market and went 100% mainstream, then yes I guess Chevelle would qualify.

And I'll be the first to vote for Jars of Clay. I absolutely loved "Flood."
