Another Kelly Clarkson poll!
How I Feel. I swear it would have been a turnaround for My December. Still one of the best songs she has ever done.

Addicted (which I voted for), Just Missed The Train, & Hear Me. I also would've chose Long Shot and Can I Have A Kiss if they were options.

"Gone". I'm pretty sure Boston played that one a lot and it charted really high on that station.

They most certainly should and could have released Gone and then Addicted and extended the Breakaway era another year.

"Addicted" and "Maybe are my favorite songs on this list, but I voted "Just Missed the Train" because it would have set her up for an even bigger audience at the start of the Breakaway era, possibly making it even bigger. Plus "Addicted" just feels right as 'that one album track that everyone loves even though it never got released,' and radio would not have appreciated "Maybe."

Sit down, take notes, this is how it should have gone y'all:
Thankful: 1. Miss Independent 2. Just Missed The Train 3. Beautiful Disaster
Breakaway: 1. Breakaway 2. Since U Been Gone 3. Behind These Hazel Eyes 4. Because Of You 5. Walk Away 6. Gone 7. Addicted
(This is when All I Ever Wanted should have happened)
All I Ever Wanted: 1. My Life Would Suck Without You 2. The Day We Fell Apart 3. Already Gone 4. Tip of My Tongue
(This is when My December should have come) My December: 1. How I Feel 2. Sober (Remix - akin to My Immortal remix) 3. Maybe
Stronger: 1. Mr. Know It All 2. Stronger 3. Hello 4. The War Is Over
Look at me, getting all slw. In any case, her 'artistic' record should have come an album later. She should have played ball for one more era and then released her less commercial release. And that's that.

^^^ Can you explain to me what criteria you're using? I'm not disagreeing with you, but it seems to me that in most capacities My December would not have done very well (much as I love it more than any other Kelly record).
If you're going for the way that these eras would have had the most success, it would be economic to cut the entire MD era, since it was such a loss financially for RCA in comparison to the BA era. Just asking for clarification, since I agree with all of your single choices [ESPECIALLY TWIO this time around... it's beautiful] but I'm confused on your decision to move the MD era.

Because she would have accrued more commercial capital had she released two big commercial albums in a row. After Breakaway, it was just too soon. She had the momentum to achieve a big opening week for the album and a big initial surge in radio play for Never Again because of her name, but it wasn't enough to sustain a big era. In no circumstance was My December going to be a massive era. That said, the material on All I Ever Wanted would have surely been even more successful immediately following Breakaway. Artists like Lady Gaga, Rihanna etc. know the art of holding on to a good thing and not letting up. Kelly, through boredom, or exhaustion or whatever didn't want to/couldn't do that. I do think she's suffered for it, in terms of not being the name she once was. Again, nothing lasts forever and who's to say my way would be any better. But I'm sure had she released two big commercial albums in a row, she'd have been a big enough name and acquired enough momentum to release a more 'artistic' record to better commercial success.

My choice was "If I Can't Have You," not because it's the best potential Kelly single not released, but I think would have made the biggest difference for an era (though it was a very tough choice between this and "One Minute").
Following yoKC's lead, here's how I would have constructed all her singles for maximum success:
Thankful 1. Miss Independent 2. Just Missed the Train 3. You Thought Wrong 4. Low
Breakaway 1. Breakaway 2. Since U Been Gone 3. Behind These Hazel Eyes 4. Because of You 5. Walk Away 6. Addicted 7. Gone
My December 1. One Minute 2. How I Feel 3. Sober (remix as yoKC described) (4. Never Again - pushing original and dance remix)
All I Ever Wanted 1. My Life Would Suck Without You 2. If I Can't Have You (would have maintained momentum in a far better way, and she had so much of it going into the era) 3. Already Gone 4. The Day We Fell Apart 5. Long Shot/Ready
Stronger Buzz single: You Can't Win 1. Mr. Know It All 2. What Doesn't Kill You 3. Dark Side 4. Hello/Let Me Down 5. The War Is Over
Best-selling Idol, female pop artist of the decade, etc.

Just a heads up, I edited the topic title to make it a bit more clear. Having two polls entitled 'Kelly Clarkson' looked a little spammish.

Okay, I'll play along.
Thankful:
1.) Miss Independent 2.) Just Missed The Train 3.) Beautiful Disaster 4.) Low
Breakaway
1.) Breakaway 2.) Since U Been Gone 3.) Behind These Hazel Eyes 4.) Because of You 5.) Walk Away 6.) Gone
*I'm not going to put Addicted on here because I fear RCA wouldn't have given this the push or promotion it deserved. Ideally, it would've replaced Walk Away.
My December
1.) How I Feel 2.) One Minute 3.) Sober (no remix preferably--- could've been a smash either way) 4.) Never Again
All I Ever Wanted
1.) My Life Would Suck Without You 2.) If I Can't Have You 3.) Already Gone or Tip of My Tongue 4.) All I Ever Wanted 5.) The Day We Fell Apart
Stronger
1.) Mr. Know It All 2.) What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) 3.) Dark Side 4.) The War Is Over or Hello 5.) Let Me Down

The most critical "should have been" single, is How I Feel. That could've changed that era, had RCA done anything w/ it. But Their promotion was horrible.

The most critical "should have been" single, is How I Feel. That could've changed that era, had RCA done anything w/ it. But Their promotion was horrible. HIF isn't powerful enough to have changed anything. It could have continued good momentum, but the only song that had a prayer of salvaging the era after NA was One Minute. But, as I said above, the one-two punch of OM and HIF would have benefited the era greatly.

I feel compelled to vote for Addicted because it would've smashed hard, but I really, really wished Cry would've been a single in the AIEW era.
