So in light of pretty much all threads over 100 pages collapsing, we're going to be reinstating the old rule that threads will be locked once they reach 100 pages and a second one will be started. Even if a permanent fix is found, I still think this might be the best way to go around this.
I'll be locking any 100+ page thread I see and if you guys could report any I miss, I or one of the other mods will lock it. The race to start the new Kelly thread is now ON!
Also, Support has informed me that the server's optimization literally JUST ended. If anyone experiences any errors let me know ASAP so I can tell them.
Thanks. :)

Does this even have anything to do w/ page numbers, though? I just ask b/c the Carrie Underwood - 4th Album Era thread fucked up earlier this week and that's only at 88 pages. I'm not against the 100 page limit at all but I'm just a little concerned that there may be something more to this.

^ Yeah, threads as short as 40 pages were having issues. I'm still discussing it with Support, so it's not a dropped issue, don't worry.

It's definitely some sort of glitch rather than just a problem with big threads, but I've only seen it affect blockbuster threads, even if they're not quite over 100 pages.

Haha. Our original goal was to be convincing enough to make at least a small portion of the board fall for that. Instead, 99% of the posters accepted it as legitimate without question, to the point where we actually began to feel bad and ended up revealing the truth sooner than planned. A couple people even registered fake names and started posting nonsense under them in an effort to get those accounts banned instead of their own.

Hasn't this problem been fixed? If it has, this thread should be demoted from the global announcements.

^Yeah, you're right, we can probably unsticky this now. I'll wait for other mods to give a consensus before going ahead with that, though.

I believe we're still enforcing the rule (for now), but I have no problems with removing this as an announcement.

So the Kelly thread is at 100 pages. What's the verdict? New thread or keep the current one open?

Answered this in the Kelly thread already, but I think it's fine to leave it open for now. If the site starts acting crazy for any reason let me know and then we can start a new one. I don't know why but I suspect it will be somewhere around page 200 or 250 when things start acting funny.
