On a critical scale, Blackout probably is regarded as the best of her albums, but even still, it's not a BIG critical success (in terms of best-of lists).
"Break the Ice" is one of my favorite singles of hers, and I do like "Piece of Me," though other than GM and "Radar," I don't recall listening to the rest of the album. Will have to do so down the line.

I mean, everyone is entitled to their opinion on the album and I'm not questioning that. I just don't think it should be that lost on people as to why the album is raked over the coals

Do we even know if she actually recorded vocals for the Danja tracks or they didn't even get to that? 4 days left ;)

I honestly don't get how people don't hear the perfection in Alien, Work Bitch, Perfume, Til It's Gone, Passenger, Now That I Found You and Hold on Tight. And that's most of the album right there. Although it's obvious that these people honestly don't get how I could rank those tracks and by association/inclusion Britney Jean as among her best work. This album just struck a cord with me and it has more home runs than any of her previous efforts IMO, even if it falls short as a collective work, which is where ITZ and BO shine. If we're throwing Oops, Baby and FF into the mix, it's laughable to me that any of them could touch the quality of the above mentioned tracks. It's all preference I guess. I prefer BJ style music from her. I'm obviously in the minority as this album sold about 25 copies. I see and hear perfection in Work Bitch, I quite enjoy Till It's Gone and I guess Alien is alright but yeah I dont get when people hear perfection in some of the others but thats the beauty of music its so subjective. A album is a collection of work that fits together, it must be cohesive and flow together and there has be a emotional and or spiritual connection between the work and the listener and I'm glad you found that somehow, somewhere in this. I think this album has no personality, its not fun and its not music that makes you want to listen to it again, its not horrible its just there, meh, blaaaah, puff, puff and pass. Honestly though this bitch has been through alot in her life can she not give me a few songs that make me wanna cry and hug her? Let me in a little and share something from the heart, maybe throw in a acoustic song up in that bitch and sing from the heart. I didnt get what i was expecting from it. Or a song that is DEFIANT with edge and sass, just SOMETHING GIRL. Anyways my advice, kill Will I be, call up DIPLO and use that ass/hips god gave you and crank out some ratchet hot bangerz on the next one. "Baby, make me Tick tick tick tick tick tick boom Tick tick tick tick tick tick Baby, make me Tick tick tick tick tick tick boom Not too slow, not too quick Baby, make me tick tick boom"

@spiritanimal Diplo is on Britney Jean. He's responsible for 'Passenger'-- one of her best vocals to date, messy production aside.
The only track I truly love is 'Work Bitch'. 'Alien' and 'Passenger' are enjoyable, but no more than her standard album cuts. Same with 'Perfume', although I greatly prefer the original edit. There are bits of 'Tick Tick Boom' and 'It Should Be Easy' I enjoy as well... but as full songs they don't work. The rest are just bad.

"Unbroken" is great! This definitely deserved a placement on Britney Jean

I get that you're employing serious hyperbole in stating that you don't understand how people don't find seven songs on this dud of an album to be actually perfect, but I had to bold "Alien" because that song is, objectively, quite imperfect. The autotune fuck-up on the choruses is inexcusable, and far too distracting for me to enjoy what would have almost certainly become my favorite song off the album.

The album had the potential to be amazing. The mastering and production of vocals and instrumental are what hindered the album. The only song that sounds complete and ready to slay is "Work Bitch" which is undoubtably the best track on the album. "Til It's Gone" is also up there but it's a little too basic for me.
"Alien" could have been THE highlight of her career if it had been expanded upon. She should have added more verses or more words to the chorus, a bridge, extra production and less autotune and the glitch taken out and it would be amazing. Had "Alien" been a 5-minute space odyssey it would have been probably the best song of her career. That's the biggest problem with this album- it's not the material that's bad per-say it's just that they all seem like there is more to it.
These are the tracks that had they been expanded upon and just more FINISHED would have made one of Britney's best albums, if not her best album:
1. Alien 2. Work Bitch (already slays but adding it here) 3. Perfume (bridge needs to be included, different production) 4. Body Ache (NEEDS a better chorus, more production besides the epic verses) 5. Til It's Gone (chorus needed to be better, good production here tho) 6. Passenger (way too demo like, needs to be finalized production wise and vocal wise) 7. Don't Cry (bigger vocals, bigger production, more use of the whistling please) 8. Hold On Tight (this is good but something's missing) 9. Now That I Found You (epic but again, doesn't sound mixed correctly)

'Alien' and 'Passenger' in particular could have been absolutely phenomenal with better mixes. I could see the former being reworked by Klas Åhlund to have something of a Robyn sound.
And on the topic of that song, I'm surprised they gave 'Tick Tick Boom' a remix package before they did 'Alien'. With a proper mix, it could've been a gay club anthem.

Just got back. How do i post pics? Had ga pit. No words! Met felicia, larry and dancers after show right at halo bar outside theater. All so nice. Learned alot about brit and how it works. She is back in la already and has an event for her kids at school she wants to go to. Her dancers stay at a rented house near the strip. People are prepicked a week in advance for freakshow. Usually a celeb or friend. I told each of them to tell brit to not give a shit about anyones opinion and let completely loose. They said she has her good and bad days and dont let her have pity parties anymore. So interesting! All this for a $144 ticket. :)

"Pity parties" lol. I could see it.
I would feel SO weird asking all those questions though... even weirder that they so willingly volunteered answers.

Oops is still her most critically acclaimed album to date lets not forget that. According to what, Metacritic? If we are going based off of that then Blackout is her third worst album and that's ridiculous. Also keep in mind Oops has 12 critic reviews while Blackout has double that, so there's a good chance that if Oops got 12 more reviews it would have been a colossal fail. You can't really go by meteoritic, especially when there are magazines dubbing Blackout as one of the most influential pop records of the 00s.

Unbroken sounds like a hit to me :O.
I think the BJ era is already over and i hope we get album '9' someday. Isn't she retiring?

What people say is true about how sweet she is. Her dancer told us about how they get to live. After the show it was so laid back compared to before. Probably cuz brit was out of the building then.

113 132 SPEARS, BRITNEY Now That I Found You 38 44 -6 0.084 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :( :( :( To be expected. Without some announcement or push it really can't go much higher. They're taking so long deciding a 3rd single that I'm beginning to believe there won't be one. Just got back. How do i post pics? Had ga pit. No words! Met felicia, larry and dancers after show right at halo bar outside theater. All so nice. Learned alot about brit and how it works. They said she has her good and bad days and dont let her have pity parties anymore. So interesting! All this for a $144 ticket. :) You're so lucky! Sounds like you had a great time and it's cool to know that Brit has so many kind people around her. Hopefully I can go next year once I've saved up nearly $2000

113 132 SPEARS, BRITNEY Now That I Found You 38 44 -6 0.084 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :( :( :( Dislike. But really, what do we expect? No adds date, or any kind of confirmation that this - or anything - is the third single. I realize that Perfume flopped and that the album isn't selling well. But Vegas is a hit and there could still be interest in this project. The label is just letting it flounder, with nothing post second single? I have always hated RCA and I have always thought that they grossly mismanage projects, but this takes the cake. Say what you will about Jive, but they could milk a flop just as much as a hit.

The version of "Unbroken" that leaked is evidently a work-in-progress. The song was never fully finalized. It would have interesting to see what the final version would have sounded like. Although for being a work-in-progress, it feels more complete than some of the actual finalized songs on BJ.

I love 'Unbroken'. Her unreleased material is usually, tbh, complete shit. This is so good. I loved the FF era musically. My favorite Brit album.
