Saw the Nutrisystem ads last night, and I realized how much I miss Janet. It feels like forever since Discipline came out.

Just read her True You book yesterday and I enjoyed it. I kinda wish there were more stories about herself, but alas, that'll have to be if (and when) there's an autobiography.

I really enjoyed reading True You, will give it another read. An autobiography, for me personally, wouldn't be a need. Janet's life and story has been explained numerous times.

I love this video so much that I bought it at the time. I do think it was a poor choice for a second single though. "Luv" is much more radio friendly.

I get a kick out of her commercial, especially when it sounds like she is on the verge of erupting into a giggle fit randomly. She needs to come back and make more music though. Always been a fan, even of the flops like Damita Jo, 20 yo and Discipline, ESPECIALLY the latter two.

Nothing beats "Take Care" & "Rock Wit You".

"Rock With U" is one of my favorite post-2000 singles from Janet but it was a moronic single choice. It has this sophisticated lounge type of dance sound, and that sound has never really been that big on radio. It's doubtful a song like that would have done any better even in the current musical climate.

"Take Care" is pure bliss, one of those songs that instantly puts me in a great mood. All of her sensual songs are so relaxing. Who doesn't want to lay down or get freaky to a "Twenty Foreplay", "70's Love Groove", or "Someday Is Tonight"?

^Indeed it did- pop and rhythmic, I believe. Had a video and everything. :) "Luv" was the urban/urban AC single.

Truth is: Discipline didn't have many single choices after feedback . Luv wouldn't do well, too.
Their best shots were So Much Betta at pop and maybe What's Ur Name, which could be a top 20 single on R&B.
Best case scenario, Rollercoaster could do "well" after some successful singles.

"Feedback" was the only song on Discipline with hit potential, but it was a mistake to release something so pop oriented as her lead single when she hadn't had a major CHR/Pop hit in several years at that point and had just gotten her Urban base back with 20 Y.O.

I thought it was sub-par... That would be the best word to describe it. I hope next time we see classic Janet without a modern twist..

I thought it was sub-par... That would be the best word to describe it. I hope next time we see classic Janet without a modern twist.. I got the perception that Discipline was viewed as a relative comeback for Janet, but I actually thought it was her weakest album since Dream Street. The only songs I still listen to are the 4 singles. All in all, I think the uptempos on her last 3 albums were really weak for the most part. The highlights of those albums were the midtempos, which is really a shame because Janet was always known for her wonderful, bubbly uptempo tracks. I hope for some of those on her next album. I loved "Make Me" though. I want more fun, carefree Janet and not the moody dance music and hip-hop uptempos.

The combination of 20 Y.O. and Discipline worked for me though. I could grab about 1/2 of the songs from each and make a good Janet album.

Omg..Rock Wit U, so good. Should'nt have been a single tho.
Luv was perfect as a second, but where the fck was the promo?
Can't Be Good was a good song, not so sure if it should've been a single though.

"Make Me" was so hot. Thats what I want from her. I honestly want her to create an album with radio airplay not even being a priority.
