WBEE put "Friend Zone" by Danielle Bradbery up as their 'Music Meeting Song of the Day', so we'll probably see an official single announcement soon; which would mean the thread gets moved back to the country forum.

Remember how packed the chart was in the spring? This fall is gonna be rough as well. Things cleared out a bit over the summer (not as many songs going for adds), but from September 8 to October 5, there are 20 songs with adds dates (Granger Smith's is the only one on October 5, but rest assured there will be more songs going for adds that day). And that doesn't even include the new singles from Toby Keith and Danielle Bradbery.
I keep a list of all upcoming singles and their adds dates, and to me it already looks like we're heading for major chart congestion once again. And thus I expect we'll see a lot of newcomers' singles bomb big time. Just looking at the list, I think it's a pretty bad time for people like Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, Lauren Alaina, Dallas Smith, Craig Morgan, Aaron Watson, and Toby Keith to be releasing singles..

What would help to a point is for some of the songs that aren't doing anything to leave particularly Jake Owen, Big & Rich, Chase Rice and Parmalee ( Lady A to an extent but I love Long Stretch Of Love and are hoping for a Top 15). Thank goodness Kip and Eric threw in the towel but we need more songs to start giving up.

Who the hell hadn't added "Gonna Wanna Tonight? The songs been out for almost a year already. It just doesn't make sense why some stations wait so long to add certain songs. I would hate to have a local radio station like that.

I would hate to have a local radio station like that. Not all the stations play the same songs, though. I mean, at any given time, there's probably about 80-90 songs being worked to mainstream country radio, and most stations might have anywhere from 25-40 "new" songs in their playlist at a time. Some of them will play lower-charting songs, meaning that they have one less 'slot' for a song that's charting higher on a national chart like Billboard or Mediabase.

While I agree that waiting a super long time to add songs isn't ideal at all, a radio station that doesn't play Chase Rice sounds like my kind of station.

Anyone else get the one song Radiotraks survey today? They aren't revealing the artist, but it was pretty clear to me that it was Raelynn. The song is probably called "Welcome to the Zoo". If you think Danielle's, Thomas Rhett's or TBP's new singles are pop, they don't hold a candle to this song. Pure pop! I actually like it, but don't want to hear it on my country station. Ugh.

I didn't get it, but you're probably right in thinking it's RaeLynn considering all four artists are on the same label, along with Zac "That's My Kind of Beautiful Drug" Brown.

I saw on Roughstock today that James Wesley has a new song out called "Hooked Up". I love his music, I loved "Thank A Farmer". This song is fresh, seems fairly radio friendly and just over all great. Can someone maybe answer a few questions? Why is this song called "Hooked Up" if those words are never sung once during the whole song? Does this song have an outside shot at a Billboard/Mediabase top 60? Thanks.

We've actually been talking about the song for a couple months now, lol. It's not going to country radio, so don't look for it to chart at all. Roughstock is operated by rsmatto. :)

But as sabre14 said, it's a promo single and no radio singles are yet in sight for James, despite being on BBR.

There are rumors Garth is releasing a new single in October. Does anyone know if it is a Man Against Machine track or is he getting ready to start a new era?

I would assume it's a new era, given how long it's been since "Mom" came out. Plus he did say he would have a new album out in late 2015 when he offered that big cd bundle last year. I was doubting he would have it ready in time, due to his relative silence about it so far, but maybe he will after all!

Love the creativity of the song lyrically and thematically, too. At any rate, I do hope it does well for her. I'm really waiting on pins and needles for RaeLynn's full-length debut because I can already tell I'm going to like it very much.

So wait did Ashley Gearing Train Track did it not even get a single add I mean that doesn't seem right I mean i know Curb records and radio relationship has eroded over the years but I figured Ashley could pull in an handful of adds.

"Train Track" got no adds. I'm expecting that single to have a secondary chart run, unfortunately. Curb might manage 1-3 adds a week from here on in but there's no way Ashley's song charts. Ashley's been off mainstream radio's radar for too long. I'm sure she's visited some stations over the past year but not near enough to be regarded as a radio tour.

Actually sabre14 and raylatch98, I'm not sure if Ashley's song technically even went for adds yesterday. Music Row was the only place listing its adds date as yesterday. It had been listed on R&R and I think Aircheck as well, but it was removed from those places a week or two ago already. Maybe it still got some small market (non-panel stations) adds but I wouldn't be surprised if Curb decided to delay the release indefinitely.

That's what I was thinking I mean I am not expecting Ashley to get over 20 adds but it should've got a handful of adds. Hopefully this can get an add date so maybe Ashley could sneak in a week or two.

If it was delayed, I wouldn't expect the new add date until November.

Yeah, I really think Ashley Gearing would at least have gotten around 5-10 adds on impact date, so I'm thinking it's probably pretty likely that Curb realized that any small chance she had of getting some attention would be squandered by releasing it during such a busy time and delayed the adds date.
