As I said before, this week's show was a special: The Top 20 Praise & Worship Songs (So Far).
1 Shout To The Lord/Darlene Zschech 2 God Of Wonders/City On A Hill 3 Our God Is An Awesome God/Rich Mullins 4 Lord I Lift Your Name On High/Petra 5 He Reigns/The Newsboys 6 I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever/Sonicflood 7 Jesus Lover Of My Soul/Christopher Harris 8 Open The Eyes Of My Heart/John Tesh 9 Forever/Chris Tomlin 10 Breathe/Michael W. Smith 11 You Are My King (Amazing Love)/The Newsboys 12 Sometimes By Step/Rich Mullins 13 We Bow Down/Twila Paris 14 Here I Am To Worship/Phillips Craig & Dean 15 Come, Now Is The Time To Worship/Phillips Craig & Dean 16 Heart Of Worship/Matt Redman 17 We Fall Down/Chris Tomlin 18 You're Worthy Of My Praise/Jeremy Camp 19 Above All/Michael W. Smith 20 Blessed Be Your Name/Tree 63
You'll notice that there are several Chris Tomlin songs on this list and, seeing as Mr. Tomlin was Jon's guest host on the show, I don't think that's coincidence (even though they said this was figured by a "scientific method". How they fared on Christian radio was part of that method, but what else could it have been?). Anyway, some great music on that show, even though I don't really like the specials as well as I like the regular shows. Of course last time there was a special, the chart for the regular show that it replaced was available on the 20: TCM website, so if that happens this time, I'll be sure to list that as well.

Hmm, I guess they're not going to update the chart. I wonder if they'll just use the 6/26 chart for the "last week" positions or use the ones from the 7/3 chart, the one pre-empted by the special. If the latter applies, I'll piece the chart together and, in the case of songs falling off, I'll just guesstimate. If they do use the 6/26 chart, however, there'll be no need to do that.

Well, the July 3 chart was never posted on the 20: Countdown website. I was, however, able to piece most of the countdown together using "last week" positions, but some of the info may not be exact. I e-mailed the staff at 20: The Countdown Magazine, inquiring about positions 19 and 20 (the songs occupying those positions on this chart fell off the chart this week), but I'm not sure if they'll be able to answer my question. Until then, here is my "interpretation" of the July 3 chart:
LC TC SONG/ARTIST 01 01 Who Am I/Casting Crowns 02 02 Here With Me/MercyMe 03 03 Glory Defined/Building 429 04 04 Blessed Be Your Name/Tree 63 05 05 I Believe/Third Day 06 06 You Raise Me Up/Selah 07 07 Open Skies/David Crowder Band 13 08 Walk By Faith/Jeremy Camp 09 09 Sea Of Faces/Kutless 10 10 Grace Like Rain/Todd Agnew 15 11 All Things New/Steven Curtis Chapman 11 12 Here I Am To Worship/Phillips Craig & Dean 08 13 Yes I Will/Bebo Norman & Joy Williams 12 14 More/Matthew West 14 15 Unspoken/Jaci Velasquez XX 16 Once Again/Fusebox 16 17 Letters From War/Mark Schultz 17 18 Whatever It Takes/Nate Sallie 19 19 The End/Matthew West XX 20 Go Light Your World/Chris Rice
Dropper: From #18: Beautiful/Bethany Dillon
Again, songs 19 and 20 may not be right and I'm not sure I'll get the information from the staff at the 20: TCM website. But even if I don't, there may be hope yet. "The End" by Matthew West is a relatively new song and may have just been pushed back by the competition (though I don't know how Nate Sallie's song would be competition, seeing that it's an old song and what station could possibly be just adding it to their playlist). So, if it re-enters the chart next week, I'll be able to tell its position from the "2 weeks ago" column. Same thing goes if there happens to be a newer song that debuted and fell off the chart after one week. We'll have to see what pans out in weeks to come.
EDIT: They got back to me and I was right about song #19, but not song 20. That song has been edited on the list.
