Thematically speaking, most country radio songs which draw a binary between the rural life and city life, and suggest the latter is the source of all criminal activity and broken homes while the former is a paradise of sorts that'll keep you out of jail. * Also, in U2's "Pride (In the Name of Love)", Bono sings in the third verse: "Early morning, April 4 / Shot rings out in the Memphis sky..."Martin Luther King Jr. was actually shot in the evening that day, at 6:01 PM. Sorry if it felt unsettling sharing on the weekend of his memorial. But every time I hear that lyric, it honestly baffles me how Bono could have been spot on with the date and place, yet be way off with regards to the time. Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS Or he's simply referencing the day where people shoot out bullet in remembrance of the event. For most historical days, people celebrate or acknowledge the full day, rather than the specific time of the event.

She just wanted to change the end. Here's her quote: Okay good lol. Thank you for that post. I am sorry, it always made me mad.

Sublime - "April 26, 1992 there was a riot on the streets tell me where were you?" The riots actually occurred on April 29.
U2 Vertigo - "Unos, dos, tres, catorce!". Just no....

U2 Vertigo - "Unos, dos, tres, catorce!". Just no.... 1, 2, 3, 14!!! We know how to count! I don't know if this counts, but Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never" is itself a paradox.

"Vertigo" is like that because How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb is supposedly their fourteenth album, although I'm not sure how that would be counting.

Modest Mouse - "3rd Planet"
"The universe is shaped exactly like the earth If you go straight long enough, you'll end up where you were"
No because the universe is expanding, Isaac.

4 Minutes is 4 Mintues and 4 seconds long.
Crayons Can Melt On Us For All I Care's lyrics are "I Just Wasted 10 Seconds of your life" but the song is actually 12 seconds long.

Isn't there a theory that the universe is circularly shaped or something? Maybe, but it's getting bigger by the minute. Even if it was circularly shaped, you'd have to go faster than the rate of expansion to end up where you began.

Katie Melua's 'Nine Million Bicycles' and some of the numbers she uses that are inaccurate such as the distance from different things in space. There's a video of an aerospace conference somewhere where some kind of rocket scientist or something is talking about the factual inacccuracies in the song, and he got her to rerecord those parts of the song thats actually pretty funny Shakira - Objection "Next to her cheap silicon I look minimal" I believe the liner notes are corrected to silicone, but unless the other girl is some sort of cyborg, i doubt she has much silicon in her.

It's not factually inaccurate, but Simple Plan's "Jet Lag" has always annoyed me; You say good morning when it's midnight, going out of my head alone in this bed I wake up to your sunset, it's driving me mad, I miss you so badI challenge you to find me a set of logical times (what time they both wake up and what time her sunset is) that don't involve either of them changing time zones in between the two events. If it's any consolation, the French version says "quand je m'endors, tu te réveilles" in the second line (when I'm falling asleep you're waking up)

Sade's Smooth Operator... "Coast to coast, L.A. from Chicago" But I don't think she's actually saying Chicago is in the coast. Kim Wilde's "Kids In America" is another 80s hit by a British-based act that makes an incomplete transversal of the US. Kim sings "New York to East California, there's a new wave comin' I warn ya". What about western/coastal California, where most Californians in fact live? Regarding Chicago, Paper Lace's 70s hit "The Night Chicago Died" refers to the "east side of Chicago". I guess that means the lakefront, but does anyone there actually call it the "east side"?

Tweet's "Always Will" is such a pretty song... but there's one lyric in it that irks me.
In the first chorus she says "we could be on separate planets, Mars and Venus..." Then in the second chorus she changes it to "we could be on separate planets, Earth or the moon."
Uhhhhh... the moon isn't a planet. Maybe she's just using that to describe distance, but it still drives me insane.

On "Dime Store Cowgirl" by Kacey Musgraves: There's one little incorrect lyric that I noticed, only because I currently live here in Arizona. The line "Driven through New Mexico where the saguaro cactus grow" caught my attention...because there are no saguaro cacti in New Mexico. They only grow in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, and in parts of Sonora, Mexico, and a few remote places in extreme SE California. They aren't found anywhere else in the world...not in New Mexico, not in Nevada, not in Utah, not in Texas. They're extremely common in Phoenix, though :) That's just me being nerdy and giving y'all a little bit of trivia. Obviously the last syllable of "New Mexico" rhymes better with "grow" than "Arizona" does, so I understand why Kacey and her co-writers wrote it like that. And it's not something that will bother me at all--it's just something I noticed. As far as I'm concerned, this song is about damn near perfect. Putting this here because I thought it was interesting and I would've never even known there was an inaccuracy without Jamie's little expose here. ;)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, from the chorus on Kanye West's "Black Skinhead":
"I keep it 300, like the Romans"

Fifth Harmony - "If you could take my pulse right now / It would feel just like a sledgehammer"
I think they are confusing a sledgehammer with a jackhammer. If your heart is beating like a sledgehammer it's probably beating very slowly...

This may not really be inaccurate, but Macklemore's new "Downtown" refers to "1988 Mariah Carey hair". Which seems odd since Mariah didn't become publically known until 1990, and I don't think Mack knows what she looked like earlier unless he knew her (unlikely since he was five in 1988.)
