After hearing the clips, the only song that even resembles something out of SH, CR, and PO is Good Girl. The production on Blown Away is completely different. It sounds like Carrie meets the Dixie chicks album HOME. It's like Carrie and her producers wanted people to hear, Good Girl, and have people think, "yea, that's Carrie Underwood". Then, they wanted to throw everyone a curve and say, "hey people, listen to this". This is going to be huge.

I can't wait for this album to come out. But I'm wondering... am I the only person that likes the demo version of WAW compared to Carrie's version?

I'm a lot more impressed by these clips than the other ones. I'm still not wild about One Way Ticket, but Cupid's Got A Shotgun sounds better on these clips.

The new clips helped "Forever Changed," "Good in Goodbye," and "Wine After Whiskey" the most for me. Previously I thought they were kind of boring. Still not feeling "Who Are You" though, think I'd prefer to pay one less dollar for the album than to have that song. I'm really liking the increased emphasis on storytelling on many of the songs, which hasn't really been a big strength of the previous albums (especially Carnival Ride, which I find to be the most declarative and least narrative of her albums).

It sounds like Carrie meets the Dixie chicks album HOME. After hearing the set of clips, I don't really hear similarities between Blown Away and Home (outside of "Cupid" perhaps). Home at its heart was inspired by the traditional country sound. While Blown Away is distinctive enough to stand out in her own catalog, it isn't exactly a huge departure sonically from her previous releases. With that said, based solely on the snippets, the album appears to house some of Carrie's best material; it's a shame they led with that god-awful "Good Girl", which does not seem to be representative of much of the album.

The other clips impressed me more. I guess I was expecting more of a Shania type record or something.

Those clips are just... <3 I can't believe that, after over two and a half years of waiting, we're finally hearing the new album tonight. Crazy to think that it's finally here! It was just a few months ago in January that we didn't even know what the lead single for the album was going to be. I can already tell that the first four and the last four tracks will all be the biggest standouts. My favorites, based on those clips, seem to be BA, TBC, SYA, WAW (I'm falling in love with this one), and CGAS. I really like LLA, too, even though it's pretty generic lyrically. I think it's a fantastic album track. it's a shame they led with that god-awful "Good Girl", which does not seem to be representative of much of the album. I actually think that it seems to have been a very smart choice. It's clearly doing very well (strong on the Country charts, hasn't dropped out of the Top 40 of the all-genre iTunes chart -- something that I can't remember ever happening to Carrie since BHC, crossing over, and it's gotten loads of critical praise), and it's upbeat enough to get Carrie that radio "click" she needs to get attention towards the new album.

Her writing on this album is really impressive.
I can't even take "Good in Goodbye," I take back all the shit I ever gave Carrie for working w/ Tedder.

I do agree that "Good Girl" isn't the best representational song off the album. Perhaps it's the furthest from it. But I don't think it's awful, and I think it was a great lead single for many of the reasons posted above. It's basically doing its job, and then some.

It was most likely the best decision from a commercial standpoint (despite its sluggish pace over the last few weeks at country radio), I'm not arguing that; it was bound to succeed in certain avenues, almost inheriently, given it's a continuation of the material her audiences have proven to eat up throughout her career (and retreads typically fare well with country audiences). However the formula is just a little stale for me personally at this point and doesn't eximplify much growth or versatility. It just seems to be a very by-the-numbers release (something of which I, for the most part, am not a fan of).

I like Good Girl, but I don't know if it was the best idea for a first single. This album was supposed to represent a bit of a different Carrie, and GG is not that. I still love the song, though.

It was only a matter of time before JTTW and SS received the 2x- and 1x Platinum certifications.
That gives Carrie her 2nd multi-platinum single, and her tenth single to have been certified with, at minimum, the Platinum certification (including Remind Me, to which she receives credits to)! GG will become her eleventh pretty soon, too.
Loving it!

I hope you FC members enjoy the album. Also nice to see JTTW and SS receive their certifications.
Based on the second group of clips. . . -BA and TBC sound great. I like that's it's a completely different sound for her, too. -See You Again sounds really radio friendly. -Love Do You Think About Me. I hope she records more songs like this. -Forever Changed probably won't be a favorite of mine, but I do like how soft it is. In fact, I love that Carrie isn't belting very much of anything this album. -Nobody Ever Told You is probably filler, but sounds pretty infectious. -Enjoying One Way Ticket more with this clip. Again like that it's a different sound for her. -Hometowns (like the music, those lyrics are so generic...bleh) -Still a tough read on Good in Goodbye -Leave Love Alone - still enjoy the music part of this one -CGAS - another one that will take me awhile to get used to, but I did enjoy this clip more than the first one. -WAW - really enjoy this one...prob will be one of my fav songs from Carrie -Who Are You - go away.

I am thrilled that Carrie is going over to the UK, I think this album will do well international and I'm glad they are doing it now with Blown Away instead of having tried to with Play On.
