BA is at #3 because of the new Tuesday releases from John Mayer and Sara Bareilles. John will probably be a strong hold for a while, so it was really great to see Carrie slip into the #1 spot again before the new releases came in!
And OMFG at the Carrie/Kelly Twitter interaction! <3
The reception has been astounding thus far.

Hope someone caps this or the video makes it's way unto Utube, our NBC affiliate can't be seen on our Time Warner Cable system. I know, weird. Why can't we all just get along. I've heard that somewhere.

The drop is a combination of losing the benefit of Mother's Day which limited the typical 2nd week drop. Plus a typical 3rd week drop is 20-30%.

Going on DWTS was a waste! It didn't help her sales at all. It is time for anther single... hopefully GG peaks soon!!! Or she will soon be selling like Rascal Flatts!

BA performance - I loved the visual. The red-white contrast was great.
Carrie sounded really strong on the chorus but not so much on the verses. Good just not great. And in comparison, I thought the same thing about Kelly Clarkson's performance. Having said that, both ladies certainly blew the other *singers* out of the water.

440,000 copies sold in three weeks is good. I am definitely expecting gold certification after Memorial Day.

Red carper interview - Carrie really carries herself well and comes off well-spoken. I loved the frilly dress.

We can't expect an "Adele performance", but she is better than most singers I've ever heard live, the live performance was so next to the studio version, it's hard to see something like that.

I wonder about the Adele comparison. Who would have more difficulty, Carrie singing Adele's songs or vice-versa? Hmmm would be an interesting crossroads.

^^ IMO, I don't think either would song good singing most of the other gal's catalogue. While both gals' vocals are powerful and great storytellers, Adele's vocal range is far too limited to work well with Carrie's rangier songs. I also do not think Adele could keep up with Carrie's uptempo songs. Similarly, I feel that Carrie's tone would not sound good on Adele's more bluesy, soulful songs.

The more I listen, the more I believe that Who Are You is a Christian song.
Can anyone clarify?

What do you mean can't expect an "Adele performance"? After listening closely to Carrie (and Kelly's) performances, there is one spot in each where the singer goes slightly off pitch, and it's so brief that it hardly matters. Adele has similar issues--in fact, she's more susceptible to going flat/sharp live than either Kelly and Carrie, though all of them are exceptional live. Singing exactly 100% on key every time is nearly impossible. Studio versions are composed of multiple takes and slight pitch enhancements, even to fabulous singers like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, etc. It's just a fact. Many of these singers named in this post have delivered actually pitch-perfect performances, but most of their exceptional performances have brief, hard-to-detect moments of vocal imperfection, simply because they're live. The voice isn't a machine.

You can tell she has been around bull-riding before. She hopped right on that thing like she's done it a million times, LMAO! "Low" was priceless as well. I really wish Carrie would have gotten as low as Hoda, maybe in seven years? Carrie is one of the most diverse music listeners, truly. Every awards show you can see her singing along to every song... Like with "Girls Night Out", every close-up they had of her she was singing along.
What a great interview, short but sweet! It is a crazy thought to ponder what she might be doing in seven year's time. I assume by then she'll have kid(s). She will have released two more albums - perhaps with a "Greatest Hits" in the mix. I pray by then the CMAs will have recognized her with at least a nomination for Entertainer of the Year. I also think in seven years she'll have at least one more Female Vocalist win at both the ACMs and CMAs. What else? I don't know, but it's crazy to think about. You look back on seven years and it's hard to believe all that she has accomplished. It makes you wonder, how much more can she do?

So I said that no one expected an Adele live but that she was really really good, I wasn't talking bad about Carrie or Adele(cause I love both of them), no big deal
