Plus, GG peaked at #1 on the iTunes country songs chart in 13 countries: US, Canada, Sweden, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina, Panama, Finland, New Zealand, Australia and Slovakia. yfrog.com/64lc5uj(with thanks to @carrieubr) Is country music even popular in these countries? In other words, does selling 10 singles in Ecuador get you to #1 on the "country" itunes chart? How did she fair on the overall charts? Maybe country is more popular than I thought outside US and Canada.

6 weeks from today and Blown Away will be out! :o I can't believe the wait is almost over! It will definitely be worth it. I hope we get a tracklist soon. I love dissecting the titles and wondering what each song will sound like. It's also exciting to see familiar titles that we have been researching. I'm hoping "Nobody Knows" makes it! I'm hoping for 13 songs again to stick to the norm for Carrie albums (Though I wouldn't mind even more ;) .) Anyway... On twitter Carrie posted a great picture of her, Ace, and Penny. Such a cute family. I love her love for her pets. :) twitter.com/#!/carrieunderwood/status/182282010440646656/photo/1

I'm not sure about its popularity in each country respectively, but obviously it's prevalent enough to keep a chart.

I noticed that "Good Girl" is now featured on iTunes under the Pop genre page in "What's Hot On Pop Radio" and is #2 on the playlist. It is also featured under the Pop genre page in "The Best Of 2012 (So Far)". Wonder if these mean anything? Does anyone know who it is who formulates these playlists? iTunes? The Labels?
EDIT: Just noticed it is also featured in the Banner at the top of the Pop genre iTunes page if you scroll through them/wait a couple slides.

I guess the days of being "punished" for tweaking country songs for pop consumption is long gone. Carrie might as well release her more rockish/pop sounding country songs to other formats. She will join the likes of TS, LA, BP, RF,etc.
Carrie has said that the integrity of her songs will not be changed, but if they happen to cross over, so be it. It seems that country has, on it's own, been changing their productions to sound more rockish lately, so why not try to sell their music elsewhere. Just sayin.

'Good Girl' sounds more pop/rock than country to me, which should translate into chart success on Hot AC and possibly Pop, and ultimately $ales.

Yeah, I said from the beginning that this song was more pop/rock and had that Kelly Clarkson vibe to it. I'd love to see Kelly cover this down the line somewhere. They should definitely push it on other formats. Definitely doesn't need a remix. I hope it's just a matter of time before we see "Good Girl" listed under "Cool New Music" on the CHR section of All Access.

Hey guys, next week here in Nashville is the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival and as I'm looking at the schedule of performers, I noticed a bunch of writers that have written with Carrie for this new era (as well as written songs with/for her in the past). All of the following people are scheduled to perform (in parenthesis are the songs the writer has written with Carrie during this era that have been registered thus far):
*Hillary Lindsey (Distant Lullaby, See You Again, People That You Love, Little Girl Don't Grow Up Too Fast, Trainwreck, Make You Mine, Lucky That Way, Do You Remember When, Bad Dreams, Diamonds, Nobody Ever Told You, Something Like This, Two Black Cadillacs, We All Fall Down, I Am A Memory, Gone Too Soon, Southern Charm, Hear A Heartbreak, Good In Goodbye, Thousand Other Guys, Pay The Rent, We Had It All, Fall) [23 total]
*Luke Laird (I Heard It In A Song, Set It On Fire, Heartbreak Boots, Neverlasting Love, One Way Ticket, Sunburn, Nobody Ever Told You, Something Like This, Amazing Faith, That Girl, Mess Up My Makeup, Take Me To The City, Pay The Rent, Get A Good Thing, Party Girl) [15 total]
*Josh Kear (One Way Ticket, Sunburn, Two Black Cadillacs, Mess Up My Makeup, Cupid's Got A Shotgun) [5 total]
*Shane McAnally (I Heard It In A Song, Set It On Fire)
*Brett James (Girls Like Us, Something Beautiful)
*Brandon Heath (Get A Good Thing)
*Tom Douglas (Loved By You)
*Cary Barlowe (Hear A Heartbreak)
*Dave Berg (Wine After Whiskey)
as well as Gordie Sampson who wrote "Leave Love Alone" that his sit said Carrie cut.
And Josh Kear and Luke Laird are the ones who wrote "Blown Away" the song.
_______________________________________________
So my question is, how likely would it be for, say Hillary Lindsey for example, to perform a song at this festival that she wrote with Carrie for this era? And how likely would it be for it to be a song that will appear on Carrie's album? Like, would Carrie & her team ask these writers not to perform a specific song(s) if they knew that that song(s) was going to be on her album that is soon to be released?
And what about "Blown Away"? Could Kear or Laird perform that? If it's as epic as Carrie and layne have both expressed, why wouldn't they? And Carrie (most likely, unless they gave her partial ownership for some reason) is not a copyright owner of the song "Blown Away" so I don't even know if her or her team could force Kear and Laird into NOT performing the song.
I'm gonna get a chance to hear a few of them perform so I just wanted to see if you guys knew what the likelihood that a song Carrie co-wrote or recorded for the new album would be performed by one of these guys. Anyone know?

I know we already know this, but Entertainment Tonight just confirmed that; Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban are officially performing at the ACMs.

I'm still pretty surprised he didn't get a single nomination this year. He's very underrated award-wise, IMO. Can't wait to see Carrie's first live TV performance of Good Girl! I wonder what kind of stage setup they'll have for it. Maybe it will give us a small sneak peek of what the tour might look like?

Anyone know? I would be shocked if you hear any of those songwriters perform the songs before Carrie Underwood reveals them. Last year I attended Tin Pan South and Kear performed Lady A's "Dancin Away With my Heart which was going to be on their current CD but Lady A had already revealed the song and performed it twice before he did.

The guy was like, "Oh, by the way, we're the first to report that; Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban will be performing at next month's Academy of Country Music awards." - something like that... I wish I could find a link but I can't. Sorry
