No kidding. WLTW added this this week, I'm assuming it's the unplugged version but that's still pretty huge and amazing that the song could cross over to AC. I know 106.7 Lite FM is known for taking risks on not-so-Lite music, but could this become a hit across the format? I think it could scrape the Top 30, it's a familiar song and a decent enough remake, so why not?

This could work. It's definitely in the Unplugged version. It's a decent cover. This could be one of this year's surprise hits.

Didn't the Candlelight Mix of DJ Sammy's "Heaven" hit the AC chart?

Covers normally do allright on AC especially if it's a mainstream hit.

Didn't the Candlelight Mix of DJ Sammy's "Heaven" hit the AC chart? Yeah, it peaked at #20 in early 2003. I think it got even higher on AT20, but I'm not quite sure where it peaked. I'm pretty sure it was in the mid-teens.

I heard this song 3 times today. I wont be surprised if this song starts blowin' up on radio and charts everywhere. Heard it for the first time today and its grown on me already. Just wanna add that I wasn't particularly into Roxette's version to begin with.

''Listen To Your Heart'' is definitely suitable for both AC and Hot AC airplay.

This could be huge on AC. I don't see it being all that big on HotAc tho

The slow version was played on AT40 a couple weeks ago when it was Out of the Box.

I'm surprised this is doing as well as it is on AC considering they could have just as easily ignored it and played the original instead.

AC seems to like playing remakes, since there's built-in familiarity. "Drift Away", "The First Cut Is The Deepest" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" are still among the top 5 recurrents. Then, there's also "Give A Little Bit" and "I'll Be Around" currently doing well.

I have grown to like this remake and don't mind hearing it on pop radio but I really wish adult contemporary would stick to playing the originals.

Remakes have always been a staple at AC, and since some of those five songs had somewhat spotty runs at CHR/Pop, that makes sense.

Yeah, since these songs are all from the 1970s (or late 60s in the case of the Michael McDonald song), and people who are in the core AC age group were listening to Pop music back when those songs were popular. Some of the originals of these songs are also still played at AC radio ("I'll Be Around" and "Drift Away")

The ballad version is FAR better than the dance version, which I heard for the first time on 'Casey Top 20' this morning, his Hot AC countdown show. It was the highest debut of the week at #18, right in front of new debuts from Hootie & The Blowfish and Vertical Horizon.
I expect both of those songs to go MUCH further up the Hot AC chart than DHT.
