I'm honestly confused at all the hate this song is receiving on here. These type of songs are usually ate up on Pulse. I've heard far worse being praised.

Why should he have to choose? Because most of his latest pop has stunk. Let's keep it one hunnid boo. Pop uses him on a Jason Derulo basis now anyway, just a one-off club banger that doesn't really serve a purpose for him. Urban is where his target audience is and where he gets his sales/success from so coming to us with this try-hard pop ish is pointless and just a mess. Crossovers suit him better. He started his career just as successfully on Mainstream Top 40 radio as on Rhythmic radio, however. There's simply no questioning that. My point is, the debate of quality aside..........why should he have to turn away from a large chunk of his potential audience, especially when he continues to hold his own (albeit less consistently) here? Deliberately narrowing your focus is certainly not a gamble I'd be willing to take, unless of course the artist's intention was to make a straight-up album of any single genre. Now back to the issue of quality. This is just me, surely, but I just happen to prefer his more Top 40-friendly fare to his more Urban-leaning efforts. "F.A.M.E." was largely a forgettable album anyway, but its single most embarrassing moments, to my ears, were when he attempted to more exclusively cater to the Urban crowd like with "No Bulls***", "Look At Me Now" (you're never going to come close to Busta Rhymes' level, Chris.......get over it! ;) ) and "Wet the Bed". I'm not denying their overall success, but they're not going to be regarded nearly as much as previous singles like "Forever" and "Run It" as his career moves ahead. Honestly, I doubt his poppier singles from "F.A.M.E." will really be remembered either, for that matter..........but at least he doesn't set himself up as a fool in the longer run on "Yeah 3X" and "Beautiful People" primarily. I agree they, too, are not particularly memorable cuts, and yes they are cliched.........but they are more engaging all the same. "She Ain't You" sort of runs in-between these polarities. The production is surely appealing, I'll say, in that it reminds me of Sisters With Voices (and I'm talking even before the group contributed to its re-mix).........but what ruins the listening experience to me are its lyrics, which are about as douche-y as those of "Look At Me Now" and "No BS". But I would encourage him to continue tinkering with those sorts of sounds, and just layer them with more mature sets of lyrics. Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

A lot of people here don't like Chris Brown. The people who do tend to prefer his urban songs. Also a lot of people are getting sick of these dance/party songs. I'm not really surprised by the response.

I like it but it's not as memorable or catchy as Yeah 3x. I thought Srip was more of a buzz track when it first came out. I actually really like Strip now.

People aren't hating it because it's Chris Brown, people are hating it because it's generic and the beat grates your ears.

I don't really care about any of the politics (urban vs. pop) or what else this sounds like, blah blah blah - this song makes me feel good on first listen, and despite my dislike for him as a person, I think I'm going to LOVE this!
Wouldn't be surprised to see it be a hit on Top 40, too.

This makes me understand even less why "Beautiful People" wasn't released in the US. I assumed that it was because his handlers didn't want him tied too exclusively to the dance wave, but then they release this generic song. Meanwhile "BP" was charting at formats without any promo at all.

This is the worse electro/dance/pop song he's ever done imho. "Forever", "Beautiful People", "Pass Out", and "I.Y.A" are all MILES better than this generic drivel. I don't think this has much do with people not liking Chris Brown. This song just sucks period.
Oh and WFL is amazing there are similarities but it's not the same "feel". This is straight up trash even "Yeah 3X" was better and I don't even really like that song.

This is actually a nice dance-pop song. I wish he would do an entire pop album full of dance hits like "Forever" and "Yeah 3X"... It would be amazing! Chris doesn't deserve all the shade he gets. I'm THE biggest Rihanna fan, but to want someone to fail for no reason isn't good at all.

I liked Forever way better than this song because it was really memorable, this song doesn't get stuck to your head after a first listen compared to Forever

Beautiful People was more of an authentic House dance song. This is more dance pop and similar to stuff that's coming out now. Mabey at the time they thought Beautiful People was a risk to put out. After the Award show performance and seeing all the airplay it was getting. They were so stupid not to put it out.

Hopefully he performs this on Sunday at the Grammys as it's the perfect promo and goes to Itunes on Tuesday.

I wish he would do an entire pop album full of dance hits like "Forever" and "Yeah 3X". I really hope this doesn't happen. It kills me how much play he gets when I go out to the clubs. There's so little variety. I could hear 4 Chris Brown songs in one night. It's true, maybe I wouldn't mind it so much if it were someone else singing it. His people do not want the party to end, so they get him the best songs.
