For the third week in the row, 20 TCM experiences complete and total craziness. There is no way to describe the way the charts are acting. Not only did we have our usual share of large jumps and falls, we also broke the record for the highest debut ever. We shall discuss that later. It just defies explanation. All I can do is trust the folks at 20 TCM since they know what they’re doing. All I also trust God that he is working songs to get their proper recognition. I Just hope I don’t become number to the craziness. As entertaining as it is, I hope it calms down soon. I wish to see good songs doing well enough to make it on the year-end chart.
Two songs fell off. The Way fell off from 14. I kinda expected it to. With the charts’ craziness, this song was subject to falling off because it was in its last stages. Of course, his other song debuts up at five, much to my delight. Also falling off is Leaving Eden from nine. This makes no sense. The song debuts at 19, jumps to five, falls back to nine, and drops off. I just do not get that at all. I won’t complain because I didn’t want the song to succeed. It could be back. Too bad Lift Me Up, Remind Me Who I Am, and Turn Around didn’t drop off. They could next week.
At 20 is Battle, falling two places. It should be gone next week. It’s interesting that WNZR actually played this song immediately before 20 TCM. You would think they would know not to if people will just be hearing the song on 20 TCM. At 19, we find God Is Still God steady. Good song but it has no chance. It’s lucky to even show up at all. Of course, with these weird charts, maybe it will succeed. At 18 is Learning To Be The Light, movin’ up two places. Like I said last week, this is a great song and I hope it does very well. There Is A Way was very erratic. It did debut at 12 but stayed there for six weeks and spent eleven weeks in the lower ten before droppin’. AT 17 is I Lift My Hands, fallin’ 13 places from four. Well, I guess the craziness ain’t ending any time soon. We Got a song that drops off from five after 29 weeks, recurs three weeks later at the highest recur position ever, four, and then falls back to 17. Well, I guess I got my wish when I said I wanted an chart that would continually grab my attention. But this is way too much. Busted Heart falls back one to sixteen. That’s slightly steady but only lookin’ back one week. Let’s see what happens next.
Hallelujah!!! When The Stars Burn Down debuts!!!!! That song is excellent and scriptural. It’s certain to do well, debuting at 15 only one month after being release to radio. That’s the same position Revelation Song debuted at. At 14 is All Of Me, movin’ back up two. I’m growin’ to like this song but don’t necessarily want it on the year-end chart. Waiting For Tomorrow and Fall Apart simply switch. It’s too bad that they don’t appear that they will make it. Fall Apart, even though it didn’t move too high, might actually get enough attention overall to warrant a year-end position if all its action was in a year. At least people heard these songs. Strong Enough also falls hard, from six to eleven. Even still goes all my respect for well it held on at the top. At least these drops will allow for more great song to debut and chart well. I hope he releases The Reason For The World.
At 10, we find Where I Belong movin’ up one into the top ten. I’m still hopin’ that song will do well. If it keeps movin’, we’ll be good. We Are moves up one to nine. It looks to do well as well. Let’s hope it keeps movin’ forward as well. At eight, we find Courageous, unfortunately fallin’ back one to eight. It might blow makin’ it on the year-end chart but if it can just hold on, it can make it. Love Come To Life moves up one spot to seven. It is a good song but I don’t necessarily want it on the year-end countdown either. Of course, it may drop to the bottom next week. I thought it might this week. At six is Turn Around, jumpin’ eleven spots from seventeen. That song is extremely erratic. I still hope it fails. He is releasing his next single in March so it should start finishing up.
Overcome debuts at five, officially breaking the record for the highest debut ever. That was held for eight years by Glory Defined by Building 429 which debuted back at six in 2004. It was also tied by All Of Creation by MercyMe in March 2010. I guess the Way won’t be making it to 500 points. I can’t complain though if this equally great single debuts that high and looks to do exceedingly well. Let’s see if it can tie Building 429’s record for shortest time to one, two weeks. At four we find Lift Me Up, fallin’ two. Let’s hope it keeps fallin’ harder and quicker until it’s gone. Or it could fall off from four like Strong Enough. Remind Me Who I Am remains steady at three. It could and I hope it drops hard next week. It still makes no sense how it could be doin’ so well if it had a weak debut. Strong Enough To Save jumps from five to two. It would suggest it will hit number one but the song already did that and failed. Plus with the weirdness of the charts, who knows what will happen. My Hope Is In You stays at one for its 11th week. It could succeed but like I said, I don’t like repeats. I shall also pray for Aaron. Jon Rivers says his newborn son was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and needs heart surgery. That must be hard with his other song already very sick. I hope God brings a great testimony out of it.
I also wanted to talk about PCD and pose a situation I believe has occurred. PCD has lost a lot of popularity lately. I think the only reason Revelation Song succeeded was because of the popularity of the song, not PCD. That explains the reason they had a song so popular after four years of dormancy. It also explains why their next three singles failed. The thing is I heard that PCD said When The Stars Burn Down was just like Revelation. I agree and it’s also written by the same writer. So, PCD is again gonna have a successful song but apparently only for the song. Does anyone else agree? I just hope they tone down from their rocky path they took with Fearless. I liked their upbeat but contained song in Top Of My Lungs best.
