I know it won't happen, but someone on her team needs to serve her the real tea that no one likes the overzealous off-key screaming and that this is where she needs to excel at. For f***in real. That Flo Rida performance was embarrassing to say the least.
She does not have the range that she once did, however her softer approach to songs is really what will keep her in that "voice of a generation" category for me. Seriously... I love a lot of the divas out there now, but not a single one of them could have moved me the way she did on this track. I legitimately cried when I first heard it.
There's something so universal about the song and I truly believe it will go down in her catalog as one of her best recordings. Simply magical.

During my sleepless night I was listening to some old Christina records and I think we done forgot how outside of a Whitney, Mariah and Celine nobody had a better voice and vocal talent than Ms Christina. Yes shit went off the train tracks vocally somewhere in the middle but that happened to Whitney, Mariah, Alicia and a host of other vocalists too. I really hope she comes back and vocally remind the world that you don't manufacture a singing voice its a god given talent, anyone can get a hit but very few can actually sing

I don't think you understand the difference between shade and a opinion..go through my timeline to discover shade and then go through your timeline to discover how irrelevant, shabby and unacceptable your tone and personality is. I don't care what others think I stated my opinion it required ZERO response because well my opinion won't change regardless. Next time you want to address me do so with a certain level of respect that a QUEEN deserves until then this "conversation" is over. Good day sir. Christina is one of the best vocalist since she came and I repeat who I find is a better vocalist is a opinion not a declaration of fact, if we adults don't understand that, then I can't help u. I'm not qualified nor am I Oprah, Ilyana or Dr. Phil , helping and nurturing mental duress, state of mind and emotional well being is not why I'm here.

Does anyone else find it odd that her and Snooki not only bear a resemblance to one another, but also seem to have simultaneous weight fluctuations? Next time you want to address me do so with a certain level of respect that a QUEEN deserves until then this "conversation" is over. Good day sir. YAAAAAAAAAAAS bitch speak your speech!

Her and Snooki are almost like twins forreal, its soooo weird. But I noticed that this season once again LOL.
Anyways, call it tech issues are WHATEVER... Christina's voice is in terrible shape. I'm starting to question how exactly she gets her voice so powerful on Lotus yet all of her live performances from the past year feature her going for power and nothing but air comes out. I mean its seems that all of her upper chest range is gone and her mid belting range is in critical care. She really needs to take time off and get her voice together, whether it means she completely tones down the histronics or start lip syncing to pre-recorded vocals. But something has to give if she wants to at least be in the top 10 of best voices. We can't keep talking about 2006 when she was in her prime and the girl is only 32 years old. This is heartbreaking! I love me some Christina and I LIIIIIIIIVE for Back To Basics, Stripped & Bionic but I will not tolerate delusions of grandeur.

This is heartbreaking! I love me some Christina and I LIIIIIIIIVE for Back To Basics, Stripped & Bionic but I will not tolerate delusions of grandeur. I don't think Christina's voice is in terrible shape; she sounded gorgeous when singing "Say Something" on The Voice, and she also sounds quite good when she does little a capella bits ("Rehab," "Ain't Going Down," etc). I think she's proven she still has something in there, and her lower register is still great. She still has a lot of character and texture to her voice, when she uses it correctly. I've been a Christina fan for a long time, but I think all that oversinging and not properly taking care of her voice is finally starting to catch up with her. Despite having strong performances when she tones it down, the strain and damage to her voice is embarrassingly obvious when she oversings and tries to do vocal tricks that she just can't do the way she used to. So, while I don't think her voice is gone because her lower register is great and her tone is still quite beautiful at times, there's no denying the damage has been done. If Christina wants to salvage what she has left, she needs to put the ego aside, tone down the vocal theatrics she cannot perform anymore, and sing songs that suit her range. A lot of people (even casual fans), seem on board with Christina when she simply sings and doesn't do all the crazy vocal tricks. With Christina, it seems to have always been about ego, and look what I can do . The problem with this mentality is that it shouldn't always be about what a singer is capable of, but also about the emotion and delivery. Singers do NOT need to sing to the high heavens and hit the highest notes and add the most runs to every song; I think that's probably Christina's biggest weakness. She could still be absolutely wonderful if she let go of the ego and didn't try to sing like she could back in The Stripped/B2B days. She cannot sing like that anymore, but she still allows herself to do so. It only makes it more evident how poorly she has treated her voice and how much damage has been done, in my opinion. If she continues to try to sing like she used to, she will continue to flop and IMO it's no wonder she's not successful with the way she's been performing live lately. Sadly, I don't think Christina will ever stop oversinging, and she obviously still thinks she can sing like she once did. I think it's purely egotistical and shameful Christina hasn't take care of her voice, and that no one has given her the reality that if she does not tone it down and stop with the theatrics, she will lose what little she has left. IMO, she had one of the best voices in pop music, but her ego and inability to put her pride aside and accept reality has gotten in the way of her career. She still has talent, but if she refuses to accept reality that she can't sing like she used to, there's no going back for her. The damage is done, and it's truly to sad she doesn't seem to care she is letting her ego ruin her beautiful voice. :'( God knows I love the woman, but she only has herself to blame for where her career has gone, and her refusal to change her style is either pride, or pure arrogance. If she doesn't wake up soon (which I doubt she will), she can kiss her already dead career goodbye.

Singers do NOT need to sing to the high heavens and hit the highest notes and add the most runs to every song; I think that's probably Christina's biggest weakness. Christina initially shot to fame at a time when pop artists were largely seen as being completely manufactured and lacking any true talent, and I think she felt that she had to "sing to the high heavens and hit the highest notes and add the most runs to every song" to prove that she could actually sing and that she was the real deal. For whatever reason - whether because she enjoyed the praise she received for having such a big, powerful voice, or because people just came to expect sensational, over-the-top vocals from her constantly, or both - that mindset seemed to stick and she went on to showboat throughout her entire career, to the point that her voice is now seemingly irreparably damaged. I listened to Bionic and Lotus back to back while on a long drive Friday afternoon, and once again I was reminded how awful she sounds on the latter compared to the former. Her voice is still pretty untouchable on Bionic ('Vanity' is one of her best vocal performances ever!), but she does so much screeching and croaking and straining on Lotus that I found myself cringing at times. What the hell happened in the two years between those albums?

Say Something should be nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammys. I assume it's too late? :( It's BREATHTAKING. This is what I want to hear from Christina in her ballads ALL the time.

Definitely too late for this year, but that doesn't mean they can't submit for next year, including for the duet/collaboration-type awards.

I re-visited "Light Up The Sky" after repeatedly hearing in her commercial and I seriously don't know how this song went over my head when I heard the album. It's single material.
"Red Hot Kinda Love" and even "Make The World Move" too.

"Red Hot Kinda Love", "Just A Fool", "Empty Words" and "Best of Me" were missed opportunities from that album. It's so disappointing we may never hear most of those tracks live.

Red Hot Kinda Love is one of her best and catchiest uptempos to date. I still bop to it on the regular.

Despite her vocals on most of the songs, I really enjoy Lotus as a whole. There are very few songs I dislike.

It's not just her look. Her entire persona is so much more approachable this season. She still suffers from the same mindless positivity the other coaches do, which, at this point, I feel has to be some producer-mandated thing because there's no way none of those four judges can't hear the pitch issues in performances they say have perfect execution; but even so, as Adam flounders for words and Blake sticks to his faux-manly shtick and Ceelo gets weirder, she's easily portrayed herself as the most professional on the panel this time around.
