How many weeks do you guys think Kenny will get at #1? Gloriana is 4.5 Million behind and moving very slowly, while a quicker climbing Love & Theft is still 7.5 Million back. If Gloriana doesn't pick up the pace and go for #1, it looks like we could see 2 or 3 weeks of "Come Over" at the top. I said earlier in this thread I thought Kenny might get 3 weeks at the top. I also thought Gloriana was done earlier this week but they picked up a little today. Not sure if they are done or maybe they are waiting to see if Kenny will start falling next week?

^^ In previous years I would have said Gloriana was done, but after what just happened with Brantley Gilbert (seemed to have peaked at #3 but then managed to start gaining big again), it's impossible to write Gloriana off.
I expect Kenny to gain a little more next week because CO will only be 11 weeks old heading into the new week. Plus his first single already burned through its non-run and I don't see why the label will want a third song to peak before the end of 2012. So why not keep pushing CO?
But it could easily work out the way so many other songs have done it this year -- a one-week run #1 and a quick drop. That's the pattern of the year and there's no guarantee Kenny breaks the mold. A few songs have gotten 2 weeks, though. And he could get 2, or even 3, if the label tries for it.

at the thought of this getting 3 weeks at #1. One is more than enough for me, but it's likely it'll get two. This song isn't bad by any means, it's just nothing special in my opinion. I'd just like Gloriana and Love and Theft to each get a week in at #1 and I hope Kenny doesn't block either one of them.

I don't understand why everything KC releases, radio jumps on it like it's the greatest song ever. I was so glad they realized what a flop FLARS was. CO is nothing special to me either. It would be nice to see some newer artist get a chance.

"Come Over" will spend just a week at #1 for KC, then Gloriana, Love & Theft, Josh Turner, and Blake Shelton will take over #1 for just a week before Little Big Town spends a couple of weeks on top with their "Pontoon." Both MB and Billboard. That's my guess

Both MB and Billboard. That's my guess Kenny is 5 million AI ahead of Gloriana, with "Good Night" barely treading water right now. It appears that "Come Over" will get at least 2 weeks at #1, with a lead like that. We'll see if Gloriana can get a second wind before Love & Theft cruise right on by.

I'll just have to get me and mi compadres to bug the heck out of our local country stations to play "Kissed You Goodnigh"t and "Angel eyes" all week to push it to #1 by ourselves. Hope it works!

Almost every song that gets into the top 5 or top 3 lately hits #1. We've had a few exceptions, such as Lady A's "Dancin' Away With My Heart" and the ZBB's "No Hurry", but those were 3rd and 5th singles that had climbed a bit slower.
I do think Kenny could get a couple weeks though. Normally I would say Gloriana would get a big push next week and while Warner Bros. may still go for that, I like what Zazie said, about Kenny's situation. CO hasn't been out very long at all and it's Kenny's fastest selling single to date...it could be another big Platinum hit for him which keeps him up there with the newer big guns like Aldean and Bryan. So I can see 2 weeks at #1 for CO, and we'll see if Gloriana can hang in there. David Nail, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, Kip Moore, the Eli Young Band...and probably a few others I haven't even listed...all made it to #1 after long runs, as their labels kept pushing those breakthrough 'momentum' hits and with the Gloriana song still selling well and the album just dropping, what's 1-2 more weeks of pushing by WB? We'll just have to see how strong Kenny is, and if he is looking quite strong, then it's a question of how long can Gloriana wait before they run out of fuel?

I wish this (come over) song would just (come over) go away (come over) for a little bit (come over). Chesney is capable (come over) of such better music (come over), like the stuff from 2000-2003 (come over). But I guess he has (come over) resigned himself to the big blue (come over) chair, where artistic (come over) independence is better than (come over) some A&R folk telling you (come over) what you can and can't (come over) do. As George Strait once believed, there's (come over) a reason why someone (come overrrrrrrr) else writes the songs (come overrrrr) he sings.
And now you know my most major gripe with this song. :)

So what are we looking at for the next single? This one has got 3-4 weeks left before the label starts pushing a new one right? I'm a Small Town?

^ It's still far less repetitive than a Black Eyed Peas song.

So what are we looking at for the next single? Should be an upbeat song – I would bet on "Welcome To The Fishbowl".

This song is okay..........just ultimately forgettable.
I think Chesney's vocals here are above-average (though also significantly down from the beautiful "You & Tequila") compared to most else I've heard from him, and I don't even mind the repetition of the title all that much in that I interpret it as the desperation that fuels the emotions leading up to booty calls often.
That said, this just doesn't stand up to "Need You Now" and other recent takes on the same booty-call topic, in terms of its emotional payoff and the production choices. The production here is just too glossy, and it ultimately renders "Come Over" a much less impactful answer to "Need You Now".
I couldn't care less how long this spends on top. I have to say I do prefer "Kissed You Goodnight", in that I feel the emotional payoff of that track is superior to that of "Come Over" (even though both tracks are marred somewhat by overly glossy production). I think it primarily has to do with the call-and-response vocals within the group.
Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

I'd prefer Kenny to just have one week on top, but I have a feeling a second week will end up happening since this song is so young, potentially blocking Gloriana in the process (although not guaranteed to happen). I've been waiting for weeks to see what the third single's gonna be. I'm hoping for something more upbeat like the title track or even "Makes Me Wonder" (I keep thinking of Maroon 5 when I see that title).

Who knows, maybe he'll surprise us and release one of his ballads next, but I think they will go with something more radio-friendly.

"Welcome To The Fishbowl" is probably the most likely choice, but "Makes Me Wonder" would be my pick to come next.

I'm surprised no one thinks "Sing 'Em Good My Friend" will be next. On the TV special he did for the album, he called it one of the recording highlights of his career. My bet is on that, especially because I think it's perfect for the fall.

Personally, I'm ready for this to be a 3 single album (Makes Me Wonder and some other bust) and get Kenny back in the studio making a strong 11, 12 song album.

I know I'm very tired of CO. Why does radio jump on certain artist songs and play them so much more than others that you are sick of them by the time they start down the chart. This is one song I'm very sick of! That repetitious come over drives me nuts.

We've already had 2 singles from the album, so I would be amazed if there were only one more coming our way. Wouldn't you expect the singles from the album to last more than a year?

SEGMF is probably one of the best things Kenny has ever done, so I'd be very happy to see it go to radio next.

"Sing 'Em Good" is an amazing song, and I would really love to hear it on the radio, but it just seems more like a 4th or 5th single. After "Come Over", I wouldn't exactly be expecting an acoustic ballad to be released. I see what you mean though about it being perfect for the fall months. I hope you're right – I'd be very pleasantly surprised if it's the next single.

I meant three as in Come Over, Makes Me Wonder, and then a bust to halt the album.

My bet is going to be on the annoying and bland " time flies". It would fit perfectly behind the other two annoying, repetitive tunes we've already had. ;) surprised nobody thought of that possibility and it's been awhile since he had a " don't blink" type song talking about how fast life flies. Just my guess but I'd think they'll go that route

I will leave it to someone else to start the thread but Billboard's Silvio Pietroluongo tweeted the following:Pietroluongo is attending tonight's Brothers of the Sun stop at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
