Release Date: Sent Today Impact Date: May 14, 2012 (Today) Add Date: Available for Immediate Adds Just sent to PlayMPE today. "Feels Like A Rock Star" will be 'punted'. Press release stuff for single: When Kenny Chesney releases his 13th studio album 'Welcome To The Fishbowl' on June 19 (BNA Records), he’ll do what he does every day of his life: raise the bar on himself. Fans have already gotten one glimpse into the Fishbowl with the Top 10 single “Feel Like A Rock Star,” the duet with ‘Brothers of the Sun’ Tour partner Tim McGraw. Today, Chesney unveils another layer with the contemplative and haunting “Come Over,” written by Sam Hunt, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. ‘“Come Over” is about two people who are as broken as their relationship is, when they realize deep down that their time together has probably ran its course, but they aren't really ready to emotionally or physically move on to something else,” said Chesney. “They keep going back to each other because it's familiar. It's about emotionally feeling wanted in a moment, but it feels impossible to let anybody else fill that void. It’s a really sexy song with lyrics that are incredibly universal.” The music video, directed by longtime collaborator and friend Shaun Silva, was filmed off the coast of Florida. “'Come Over’ is the most intimate journey I've captured of Kenny in the 10 years we've been making music videos together,” said Silva. “It's clear within the first five seconds of this video that Kenny is committed to his character in the video and was more than willing to open up to the vulnerabilities associated with this tortured love story. The music video was finished in black-and-white, delivering a strikingly timeless and cinematic result.” Fans will get the opportunity to hear songs from the new album live this summer with the ‘Brothers of the Sun’ Tour, with Chesney and McGraw. Kenny and longtime friend Tim McGraw take the stage together after a 10-year hiatus with an all-stadium, 20+ city tour that reaches coast to coast. The tour also features RCA Nashville artist Jake Owen, who is coming off back-to-back #1 singles, and rocker Grace Potter, who joined Kenny on last year’s Grammy, CMA, ACM and CMT-nominated song, “You & Tequila.”

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this. It's different from anything he's ever done. I think I'll have to listen to more of it before I can say wether or not I like it or not.

I hate that I like this. Enjoyable, albeit hardly groundbreaking.

Hmm. That was fast. "Feel Like A Rockstar" seemed to be picking up some more speed over the past couple of days, but I guess the label didn't wanna to keep pushing FLAR with it struggling the way it did after it's roaring high debut.
I was indifferent to FLAR, but I find this to be a little better; not sure how far this'll go, though.

If that was enough to get it to #10 for this week's chart, they'll consider it 'mission accomplished.' This new single is likely more representative of the whole album.

I'm guessing that FLARS will only come in at #11 on Billboard tonight, since Brantley Gilbert seems likely to have moved ahead. But, FLARS did finish the week at #10 on Mediabase, so I guess they can call it a top 10 if they really want.
My guess is that they'll treat FLARS as more of a "buzz" single. Something for them to do on the awards show and build up a little hype for the Brothers of the Sun Tour. It seems the fans actually liked that quite a bit, but now that get an even better song "Come Over" from Kenny as well, which could help album sales a bit, actually.

I hate that I like this. Enjoyable, albeit hardly groundbreaking. Ditto. I can actually listen to this - which is a huge step up from how I felt about Rockstar. Won't be a station changer immediately, at any rate. Lyrically it's somewhat similar to Need You Now.

I've listened to this several times now. Lyrically, I see the NYN comparisons but it also definitely reminds me of "Somewhere With You". SWY was of course co-written by Shane McAnally as well. Shane and Josh Osborne are also 2 of the writers of Chris Young's current single "Neon", for those of you who didn't know.
Anyway...I really like this. I could see this being another big #1 hit for Kenny and a strong seller as well. It's not quite as good as "Somewhere With You" and "You And Tequila" (imo), but I hold those 2 songs right up there with the top songs Kenny has ever released. I've definitely been enjoying his music recently and I'm very excited for the album.

After a couple of listens...It will have to grow on me. I'm not feeling it right off the bat.

Glad this is being released if only for the simple fact that this means FLARS will be dead and gone very soon. But, on the downside, this is still a Kenny Chesney song, so I probably won't like this much better.

He's released so much decent material lately that the bar has been raised, and this one doesn't impress me much. It's not nearly as good as Tequila, or Down The Road, or Heaven, or Somewhere, or (in my opinion his best) Better As A Memory.
I think that's a good thing. He's reliably good lately. And this song fits in well with his recent body of work -- not his best but still a solid effort. I didn't like Live A Little much, but the only truly terrible song he's released in years now is the McGraw duet, and that one is apparently going to have a short chart life. Even that weak football song had its moments.
Will they really not push it into the top 10? Just give up on it? Good for them if they do. It's really awful. I know JHomes and others like it, and I respect their taste in music, but I'd be delighted if it never got another spin.

I'm legitimately shocked that they've pulled FLARST already. Especially now that it's started to gain again.
That being said, I like this new song. Maybe not quite as much as the duet yet, but it's a good song. I agree that it sounds a little like "Somewhere With You", only not quite as good. I can see it being a pretty big hit for Kenny.

Anyone think that this doesn't sound like Kenny at all?! If I heard this on the radio, I wouldn't have had a clue who it was!! He sounds so different. Really like the song, though! Huge fan of McAnally's writing!!

(in my opinion his best) Better As A Memory. Even with the mixed metaphor in the second verse (roulette wheel/losing hand)? Last I checked, roulette doesn't involve cards.

Huge fan of McAnally's writing!! I think it sounds like Chesney, but I think age may be showing its first signs of sneaking in on this one. I heard this on the way home from work today (without knowing they were yanking FLAR for this) and i instantly knew it was Chesney, but I couldn't help but think what a better vocalist could elevate this song to. Josh Gracin was the name that popped into my head, it seems perfect for him, but h wouldn't be the only one. That said, I do like this one, more and more with each listen. I agree with the Somewhere With You comparisons, but I actually like this a bit better, though lyrically it may be weaker. I won't miss Feel Like a Rockstar one bit.

Yes; I like bittersweet, I like self-reflective, and I will live with a flaw. The singing's good too, though I suppose I'd like it better if I heard Gary Allan perform it.

REMEMBER WHEN KENNY WAS COUNTRY??! And actually had very very good songs that could last a lifetime?? He hasn't had one of those kind of songs in a long long time. Money and age changes a person that's for sure. Time for this cat to follow a real artist "Garth" and just retire before it's too late and the career goes south. I mean, Kenny will always sell records because of his name, but let's face it.. is an artist a true artist anymore when the quality of work isn't there anymore and the passion is gone?

I mean, Kenny will always sell records because of his name, but let's face it.. is an artist a true artist anymore when the quality of work isn't there anymore and the passion is gone? I'm afraid I need to respectfully disagree with you. I think in the past few years or so Kenny has put out some of his best work - "Somewhere With You" is my all-time favorite Kenny song, "You and Tequila" was equally great, and, as Zazie noted, "Better as a Memory" is another stellar track. Certainly he's had some speedbumps (Live a Little, Feel Like a Rockstar) but for an artist who has been along for as long as Kenny has, it happens. Honestly, I'm not a huge Kenny fan. I think he hit the doldrums in the mid-2000s, but his body of work in the past 3 years or so has given me a newfound respect toward him. I'm not running out to buy his albums (I can hear his songs that I enjoy on the radio often enough), but I don't think the quality of his work has diminished, nor do I think his passion is gone. Quite literally the only thing regarding Kenny that I take issue with is how radio jumps all over his new music like it's the best thing since sliced bread. In some cases, it is. In the case of "Come Over" it might be a little too much. But I also can't blame Kenny directly for the behavior of Radio's program directors, either.

REMEMBER WHEN KENNY WAS COUNTRY??! Didn't you hear? Kenny sold his soul recently, and it sucked all the "country-ness" right out of him!!

His new record has some promising titles..very interested in hearing his version of El Cerrito Place, but yea outside of You and Tequila, You Save Me, Who You'd Be Today, Better as A memory, and maybe a rocker like Beer in Mexico , all of Kenny's material the last 5-6 years has been this washed up poppy/rock/beachy sounding stuff. There is nothing wrong with having those elements, but Kenny needs to have it more balanced. My favorite Kenny Chesney era/sound( as I'm sure many others will agree with me) is the 90s- early 2000s Kenny Chesney. He needs to go back to that and progress from there.

This is on pace for a top 25 debut although usually new songs slow down a little on the weekend because they aren't on the countdown shows yet. I'll guess it finishes just ahead of Alan Jackson, at #28 (or #27 if Craig Morgan goes recurrent).

I'm going to be rooting for the song to do very well. Co-writer Sam Hunt is the former starting QB for my UAB Blazers football team.

Already #1 on the country iTunes chart! Should be a pretty impressive top 30 debut as well, as Zazie noted.
