I normally would not be a fan of any vocal effects, but I think that one serves the song well. It gives it a very sinister feeling, and makes Carrie sound almost possessed. Definitely adds to the mood of the song well, IMO.

I finally got around to listening to this song and absolutely love the song. Lyrically I think it is strong, musically even I think is strong. My only issue with this song is the production. The music is way too loud for her voice that at times it is hard to really hear what she is singing. I do like some parts of the song where her voice is distorted or whatever you call it. I had my mom listen to this song twice and she couldn't hear them neither times. Disappointed on that end, Carrie should release an acoustic version or something.
Sometimes the lyrics can drive a song without the use of loud productions and I think this song would have benefited from a more understated production that focused a little more on the lyrics than the production.
With that said, I would love to see this make it to #1, and will definitely be rooting for this one

Carrie is currently in London and performed an acoustic version of "Blown Away" on one of the morning shows.

Carrie was interviewed on Loose Women and did a different acoustic version of "Blown Away." It was fantastic! The performance is at the 6:20 mark:

That's a nice interview. I think she represented herself and country music really well. Hopefully she has an extremely successful tour over there.

Good Girl debuted on Feb, 24, it's now June 25. It's been number one and it's gone. How bout some Blown Away girl. I guess they want to wait after her Australian tour.

^BA should move into the top 50 on Billboard tomorrow. My guess is it will also be sent to radio this week (likely tomorrow--most labels send songs out on Mondays). I guess they could wait one more week but with big stations like KKGO in Los Angeles already spinning this song more than 24 times this past week, look for BA to pick up a pretty good number of adds tomorrow even though official adds date is still 2 weeks away. Also, I don't know what Australia would have to do with sending her new single out to country radio here in the states.
So yeah, BA is gonna be in the top 50, all without having been sent to radio. Patience, Carrie fans, patience. Once the label sends it out to radio, that's the green light and you can bet it'll start to take off fast then. But this early 'unsolicited' airplay is quite encouraging.

She doesn't really need to be here to promote right out of the gate. Most of the song promotion Carrie is usually involved with is simply performances on TV and/or award shows (which usually don't happen until the song has been on the radio for several weeks already) and radio interviews at the end of the song's chart run. Anyway, here's some behind the scenes footage of the video shoot for 'Blown Away': carrieunderwood.halopowered.com/contest/websiteThanks

A Carrie Underwood country single really doesn't need much promotion tbqh. Plus, she's already done plenty of high-profile performances of this song before it was even released to promote it alongside the album. And she still has the big promotional tool of the epic video coming, so there's going to be plenty of benefit from that (likely spurred by a hike in digital downloads, as well as obviously great viewing numbers on video-sharing websites like YouTube).

The name of the artist, next to the song; Carrie Underwood, is promotion enough to make this the hit it's destined to be.

Glad to see it's gaining some airplay early. Can't wait for the video! Patience, Carrie fans, patience. This made me chuckle.

^I guess there really hasn't been much complaining on this thread here, lol, but elsewhere on the net it seems like everyone is freaking out that this song is "moving slowly" and that most of Carrie's other singles are usually top 30 by the time the adds date comes around but I don't recall that happening, and so I'm thinking to myself, "what?" I don't know too many artists that can make top 50 from unsolicited airplay...this song hasn't been sent to radio yet, but a few stations are already playing it on their own. I guess they're probably gonna wait to send it out next week either Monday or Tuesday. I was hoping they'd do it this week since Tim McGraw has a new single hitting radio next week too, but oh well.

According to All Access, the song impacts July 9.

According to All Access, the song impacts July 9. For a song that impacts July 9, it sure is selling nicely. Right at 200k with no or little airplay. Well, at least I haven't heard it on our country stations down here. It looks like another winner for Ms. Underwood.

WWYZ 92.5 in Hartford, CT has added this already, which is interesting since they don't play a ton of new music. The label is probably taking a slow and gradual route on purpose with "Blown Away", and I personally think it's a good move.

Its early digital success can be attributed to several high-profile TV performances of the song to simultaneously promote the album of the same name. But yes, its definitely going to only continue to thrive in sales as its country airplay begins to power up.

I take back everything bad I ever said about Carrie. I used to dislike her out of spite because I wanted Bo to win, but this song changed my opinion of her. I love how basically every musical instrument and background vocal (ie. the echo-y "blown away" background vocals being like tornado sirens) is used to mimic the sound of a storm, and the pre-chorus reminds me of the eerie calm that comes before the storm where all you can hear is the wind. Bravo, Mrs. Fisher. You've managed to change me. Okay, well maybe I'm being a bit analytical about it, but songs are up to the listener to interpret! Anyway, I'm super pumped for the music video to come out!

This should start picking up some adds over the next few weeks thanks to the ad in tonight's BCU. Really hope this can go at least top 5, if not #1.

I want to love the cover art, but I don't like the contrast between her face being lit up and then rest of her being so darker. It also looks almost as if she is removing her head from her shoulders by the way her arms are positioned and the disappearance of her neck.
But that hair is fierce. And I'm still loving the font for this era.

It kind of looks like her eyes are looking in different directions, making the right eye look just... confused and wrong. Not a big fan of that. The one that was posted earlier looked much better!

Contact our rep, who will inform you the station that plays Blown Away non-stop the most will win".... Country Radio is shadddyyy(all radio actually). Not a fan of the cover art, but the song still slays anything on country radio right now imo >>>>>
