I heard "Come As You Are" on my Hot AC station today, in daytime no less, and I've never heard Nirvana on there before. Anyone out there, does your station ever play Nirvana... especially in daytime rotation?

This is really weird that you posted this because I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit and a Soundgarden song last week. Strange but I liked it.

Yes!Β Last summer I did hear "Come As You Are" on my Hot AC and it was in the daytime, around noon.Β I did think it was strange but I was happy to hear it.Β Never heard it again, and that station has now switched formats.

"Come As You Are" is one of the most played recurrents on my Hot AC station.
I imagine it's probably played on most Hot AC stations.

I was positively stunned when I first heard it on there. Star 101.5 used to play "Smells Like Teen Spirit" sometimes during their "90's at 9" block, until it got replaced with the "80's at 8".

Star 95.7 used to play it when they were Hot AC. "Come As You Are" really isn't a heavy song, it's comparable to some of the currents that Hot AC plays, so I don't see why it would be surprising.
Now "Teen Spirit" in daytime rotation, that would open my eyes.

They do play "All Apologies" though, which, like "Come As You Are", is soft enough comparing to some modern tracks on Hot AC. Sincerely, Noah Eaton
