WKOC/Norfolk went country, but the company says that they might be starting up another AAA station in the area within the next few months. I'm slightly disappointed but not too much because they were causing some of the Alt & Hot AC songs to do better on the AAA chart than they should have. But at least they didn't rip the AAA chart to shreds like KAEP/Spokane did. (Thank God that station got dropped long time ago.)
KBAC/Santa Fe-Albuquerque says it's going back to its roots. I think by that it might mean that they're going to become 'eclectic' like they were before rather than becoming generic Triple A like Clear Channel has turned them into these last few months.

That station was perfect for me because I don't like straight Triple A or Alternative. It was somewheres in between. I miss that station. I remember "Complicated" made the Triple A chart largely thanks to the Peak.

Overall, I think this is a positive move, yet I'd like to see more Alternative activity on Triple A. Give The White Stripes some attention, possibly Jet, and work just a bit more on following Coldplay's lead without getting carried away.
Also, it would be nice to see more Matador label artists make an impact on AAA, quickly growing as a mammoth indie label.
This is a bit off-topic, but wouldn't the Dixie Chicks do well on Triple A? If AAA plays Indigo Girls for instance, I think they can fit right on and this can partially make up for the country airplay they've lost.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Did the Norfolk station play Bright Lights? I think only 3 AAA stations were playing that song but they must have had it in high rotation for it to chart (maybe for one week).

When 29 stations were on the Triple A panel, a total of 10 stations played "Bright Lights", not far off from the 14 that played "Unwell" and managed to push it to recurrent status. Makes me wonder if all 10 stations put it in high rotation that it could go through the same cycle as "Unwell", where it never goes Top 10 but goes recurrent. "Bright Lights" never went for Adds at this format, and I believe "Bright Lights" is perfect for the format. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Yeah, Coast played the hell out of Bright Lights. Unwell too if I remember right. I MISS WKOC!!!! From their charts you really wouldn't know it, but they were a very unique blend of music with a killer signal. It's a real shame they're gone now.
