First of all, the year-end top 100 charts are now up at R&R's site. And I've got a question that's pretty obvious once you see the AAA chart. What is up with there being two songs for every number? I would figure one is for the monitored chart on the website and one is for the indicator chart, as many songs show up twice. But you still can't piece both charts together from this, as Ben Harper's "With My Own Two Hands" is the first of the two songs listed at both #1 and #16. It is nice to see some good songs listed that never made the monitored top 30 that we get on the website (like the ones by Joseph Arthur and Turin Brakes), but if someone could post one or both of the charts in a clear format, that would be appreciated.

Looks like they've updated it... now it shows only the top 100 for the monitored chart. Ben Harper is indeed #1 on the yearend indicator chart. (If you saved the double-titled chart, you should be able to piece it together with what's up there now... if not, one of us with the magazine will post the indicator chart). :)

As for saving webpages, there are many ways to go about it. It all depends on how you wanna use them. As I see it though, there are three formats that you can save the charts in: HTML, text, and spreadsheet (like Microsoft Excel). HTML is probably the simplest way to save charts, as you've just gotta go to "Save" under the file menu, or look for the disk icon on your toolbar. It also takes up the most space on your computer.
So I mostly save as text or spreadsheet files. You can save to text either by going to "save" and "save as text" or highlighting and copying the entire page to a text editor like Notepad. Most charts are in a table format and sometimes it's tough to get one line in a table to show up as one line in a text file. They often end up with the title, artist, and everything each on different lines. You've just gotta find what works, and it all depends on lots of factors, like how the website is set up and what browser and version you're using. I use Windows XP right now, and my current method for text files is that for the Mediabase site, I can just go to "Save as text" in the Opera browser (available at http://www.opera.com) and I get a good text file. For R&R's site, however, I need to use Internet Explorer, and I need to copy the text and paste it to Notepad.
Finally, saving to spreadsheets is the method that allows you to do the most with the chart info. Once you've got the table from the website onto your own spreadsheet, you can sort and copy the data in any way you like. Again it can take a while to find a way to end up with data that's in a manageable format. Also, if you're going for the most manageable files, it's important to make sure that you get rid of any special text formatting from the website, which would take up extra space and slow you down. With my setup, I can copy from the Mediabase charts from Opera to Excel and get them in plain text and all lined up, the way I want it. With the R&R charts however, I need to copy from Internet Explorer to Excel, which gives me charts that still have the formatting. Then I copy from that sheet in Excel and "Paste Special" to a new sheet, pasting the values only, and delete the first sheet.'
I hope this hasn't made things more confusing, though it probably has. You've gotta play around with all the software to get things to work, but it's alright to start simple and work up as you want to do more with the charts you save.
