If "Glamorous" could go Top 25 here, then I could definitly see this going Top 20.
Every song in the 40-31 range has a bullet!! That's quite something! Amy Winehouse [bleh ] has a bigger bullet right now in that range, and The Goo Goo Dolls have the biggest.
How far do you guys think this can go?

This song will definitely be Top 10 on CHR/Pop - once it does, Hot AC stations will definitely use it as a "balance" single between rock songs (although I'd rather they didn't)
Would this be Fergie's first top 20 hit on Hot AC? I know that none of her solo songs did it, but did anything from The Black Eyed Peas?

I think this might be her first top 20 hit period. I was looking through the archives and I guess "Where Is The Love?" didn't hit the top 20 at Hot AC. I was kind of surprised. I'm guessing most of the Black Eyed Peas songs did make the top 40 at Hot AC, but never cracked the top 20. It looks like Fergie will finally change that!

This will definitely be a #1 hit at Top 40 - I think all Hot AC stations (except for the ALICE-type pop/alternative stations) will HAVE to play it, whether or not they want to
It's already big on top 40 stations, and gaining enormous strength at Hot AC. Even Mix 96.9 is playing this - a station that tends to steer away from R&B for the most part.
Being that it's a ballad, I can even see regular AC stations favoring this; but as usual, it will be a slow process there!
Top 10 songs (week ending 12/13/08): 1 Rihanna "Disturbia [8 weeks at #1] 2 Katy Perry "Hot N Cold" (3) Leona Lewis "Better in Time" (4) Plain White T's "1,2,3,4" 5 Nickelback "Gotta Be Somebody" (6) The Killers "Human" 7 O.A.R. "Shattered (Turn the Car Around)" 8 Metro Station "Shake it" (9) Destiny's Child "Lose My Breath" (10) P!nk "So What"
My guess is that this will either debut extremley high or make a huge jump on AT20 in one of these upcoming weeks (depending if it was counted as top 20 or not at last week's end).

My guess is that hot AC viewed the BEPs as rap, even though it would be considered "safe" rap, something along the lines of Will Smith and Crazytown. BGDC should definitely be on hot AC, especially if a horrid song like "Girlfriend" can make it.

A lot of Hot AC's have "Let's Get It Started" on pretty heavy recurrent, even if they never played it when it came out - I think if "Where Is The Love" or "Let's Get It Started" were released today, they would go Top 20, and Top 10 Hot AC (respectively) - the other two popular Black Eyed Peas songs "Don't Phunk With My Heart" and "My Humps" I can't see being bit Hot AC hits no matter when they were released - remember, "Fergalicious" "Glamorous" and "London Bridge" weren't Hot AC hits at all

This song must be testing really well for both teens and adults - the bullet on Top 40 is even crazier! Think it will slow down when it reaches the Top 5 on Hot AC, though, b/c of all the Alternative-leaning Hot AC stations - one of the biggest hits of the year, I think, on Top 40

You speak the truth!
Isn't "Girlfriend" awful? I thought Avril would grow up a little since she has put out some very good pop-rock hits along the lines of "Keep Holding On" that made her a success at Hot AC.
As for Fergie, I can see "Big Girls" going top 5 at Hot AC soon; and even top 10 at regular AC in about 10 months or so. As the countdown crawls on!

You'd think A. L. would be growing up, but "When I'm Gone" sounds even more immature than "Girlfriend" - she seems to be regressing with every new song :)
Anyway, I'm beginning to think that this song by Fergie has a shot at hitting #1 on Hot AC, along the lines of singles from the last Kelly Clarkson CD - think Plain White T's might get there first, or the two might fight it out for the next #1 to overtake Daughtry

#9 on Mediabase HAC already!! :o Isn't the song only in its 5th week on the chart? When was the last time a song climbed this quickly especially for someone who isn't a HAC regular?
I think the last time it happened was with "Makes me Wonder" by Maroon 5, but they are a core artist. Not sure when a non-regular artist rose this quickly

This song is really starting to be more appealing to me.
I think once people more pay attention to the lyrics, and less attention to slow sultry nature of the song, it starts to be more worthy.
Fergie will certainly be a Hot AC regular once she starts dropping the Black Eyed Pea stigma - especially if she records more alternative-leaning pop songs.

MB20's new song might make for some interesting competition for #1 in future weeks.[/quote]
I have this feeling that "How Far We've Come" is sort of a novelty song that's getting tons of airplay b/c of how different it sounds - think it'll burn more quickly than most M20 songs though and peak in the Top 5 but not #1
^ I agree with you, but probably for a different reason. ;) I still think "Over You" is going to #1 on Hot AC.

^ LOL, you really hate "Hey There Delilah", don't you?!? I mean, it's not the best, but anything other than FERGIE lol!

This might even stand a chance at #1 on regular AC.
It would be quite a surprise if that happens, considering the artist was a member of a rap group. But it's definitely an AC-friendly song.
