I think it's pretty safe to assume this will be the fourth single from "How To Save A Life" gauging by all these markets picking up on the track, yes?

I like "She IS" much better, but this one is good too. I think it will peak similar to "Look After You" did.

I like "She IS" much better, but this one is good too. I think it will peak similar to "Look After You" did. I think though it'll peak lower than their first two singles, it'll outpeak "Look After You". "Look After You" was a poor single choice to begin with, lacking a solid hook and droning on too long. "All At Once" is easily one of two remaining album tracks ("She Is" the other) that have mass airplay potential, with their upbeat, melodic appeal. Also, despite the comparatively short run of "Look After You", this era is still running strong for The Fray, where they're about to embark on a big eco-friendly summer tour worldwide, and have began to explode in popularity in Europe, which should also signal continuing promotion of their debut album here as well for a little longer. This will go Top 10 I believe, especially when the track has enjoyed great cult popularity below the radar as an album track, and will become the band's third Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (will miss the Top 20, however) Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I hope it goes top 10!! Another reason I think "Look After You" stalled at #11 was because "How to Save a Life" was being way overplayed. Hopefully that old song goes away soon.

I've repeatedly said "How to Save a Life" should have dropped off the scene earlier in the year. It was a good song that overstayed its welcome. "Look After You" deserved to be at least top 5, but the over-saturation of "Life" was what deprived it from it from reaching its full potential. Sorry, Scorpio, I disagree about "Look After You" being a poor choice for a single. The "oh-oh-oh, be my baby" lyric is a perfect hook for a ballad of this nature. Guess it's different tastes for different people.

Getting back to the topic - it appears that "All at Once" will be the next single. It's on the Hot AC 7-day rolling chart at #52 (+85 spins) with 6 stations spinning it.
Personally, I like "She Is" better. Has a feeling to it similar to "Over My Head".

If so, they could release that as a 5th single. I think that would appeal on pop as well.

WTMX/Chicago basically played this song instead of "Look After You" - one market likes it better than their previous single

It has the biggest bullet of any song outside of the Top 40 right now.

I think AAO will be around for the foreseeable future on the station.

I'm so tired of The Fray now. "How To Save A Life" turned me off with it's ridiculous overplay. However, this is a good single choice, but I would've prefered "She Is."

I still don't think it's as quality a song as "Look After You" - it doesn't really have a catchy hook like their past 3 singles had - I actually doubt it will receive anywhere near as much airplay as "Look After You" - also, I'm not sure what "All At Once" is about - their previous three singles have been pretty meaningful

This song is only +69 as of today, and still below the Top 30 - don't think this will be a big hit

This song is only +69 as of today, and still below the Top 30 - don't think this will be a big hit It'll depend on whether the band or their record label gets their way. The band wants to stop releasing singles from this record so that they'll understandably sound fresh for their sophomore album era, while the label wants to keep pushing singles since, after all, the album is still selling strong. Thus, there's an internal struggle at the moment. As far as I'm concerned, both parties make really good points, and if the label executives end up having the upper hand, I think this will be another moderate hit for them, bigger than "Look After You" but smaller than their first two releases. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

So do I - this song doesn't have a catchy hook, like their other three singles - there's no way Top 40 will touch it, and I can only see the Alice-type Hot AC stations playing this song significantly

So do I - this song doesn't have a catchy hook, like their other three singles - there's no way Top 40 will touch it, and I can only see the Alice-type Hot AC stations playing this song significantly I'd have to strongly disagree. This is easily their most accessible-sounding single musically since "Over My Head (Cable Car)". Immediately as the song begins, you sense an upbeat melody behind the first verse, and then I find it very easy to identify the pre-chorus ("And all at once the crowd begins to sing...") the chorus ("Maybe you want her, maybe you need her...") and the bridge. I find this MUCH more radio-friendly than "Look After You". I believe "Look After You" was a bad single choice commerically as it just drones on from beginning to end musically, and the "Oh oh, oh oh, be my baby..." refrain just gets so tediously monotonous it actually makes me feel sleepier by the end of the song. It's a lovely song certainly, just a poor single choice, and I think the fact it charted poorly on iTunes also reflects that largely. Currently I can't say where this single will peak; it'll depend on whether the band or the label wins this time around. If the latter has their way, I have no doubt this will be another moderate-sized hit for them and will peak in-between "Over My Head" and "Look After You" on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot AC chart, but if the band convinces them to save their energy for the sophomore album era, it'll be a popular album track that never kicked off to its fullest potential. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I think if people really like the track "All At Once" they will request it at radio stations, and radio stations will play it - if it's not a hit, it's because it's not as "catchy" and meaningful a song as their other three - can't believe you think this song is more "accessible-sounding" than "How To Save A Life" (want to put smiley face here, but don't know how)

^ Yes to that! Even lyrically better than "She Is," which I thought should have supplanted Look After You as a single. If you could do this era all over again, which singles would you release and in what order?

If you could do this era all over again, which singles would you release and in what order? I believe they hit the nail on the head with the first two releases, and would have done exactly the same thing they did with "Over My Head (Cable Car)" and "How To Save A Life" respectedly. "Look After You" was their first mis-step, in my opinion, and would have released "All At Once" instead as the third single. Then, I would choose to release one more single, and that would be something to appeal directly to the fans more than the listeners as many artists do with their final singles in an era, which in my case would probably be "Heaven Forbid". Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"Look After You" was really popular when it came out as their third single - I remember tons of people on this board saying they loved it and it sounded like "Back 2 Good" by M20 - and it did really well on many stations - after two massive hits, LAY was a great follow-up - I still hear it in recurrent on Hot AC and AAA stations (just maybe not huge market stations) - I agree w/ whoever said that the ending of the song goes on for too long, but that certainly didn't hurt "Look After You"'s success (stations could've easily cut it off/edited it)
"All At Once" may have good lyrics, but it just isn't a catchy, relatable single to anyone (it seems) EXCEPT FOR people who own the CD and are fans of the band - a similar song might be "A Murder Of One" by Counting Crows, which nearly all CC fans love, but which just wasn't single material for Top 40/Hot AC fans across the board

I could see "All At Once" making a good 3rd single too. :) Still #30, but it was #1 on WINC's "Hot 5 at 5" today. It's getting very positive reception here I think.

Do you guys think "Look After You" was a mistake? It's still getting a lot of recurrent airplay on Hot AC and Triple A (at least stations around me) - IMO it'll continue to be on recurrent playlists for a long time
If "She Is" and "All At Once" would've been big hits, then wouldn't Triple A have been all over them? (AAA doesn't care about promotion, etc. - it just goes through the CD and plays the songs its listeners like the most)
