I remember there was a thread like this on the pop board, and I think on the rock board as well, so I'd like to see what you think about Hot AC.
Just vote for the one that you think will overtake Daughtry, if you pick "Other", please name the song. Thanks.

I also think "Delilah" will be the next #1.
However, there's still a possibility that Maroon5 could pick up some steam and go to #1, but that's looking rather slim at this point.
I still like "Delilah", but I'm growing a little tired of it already. What does everyone else think?

I agree that "Hey There Delilah" is starting to burn on stations that have played it a lot, and "Big Girls Don't Cry" doesn't seem to be burning at all - "Delilah" is really slowing down on the Combo CHR/HAC chart I've been keeping so I'd almost vote for Fergie (but still not sure):)

I voted "First Time" cause I think they can manage to hold off Delilah for a bit.

It'll be "Hey There Delilah".
It is by far the most successful single thus far this year in terms of the number of radio formats it has dominated. It currently tops the iTunes single chart as well and, ultimately, this wave of popularity the single is riding will carry this straight to #1.
Maroon 5 aren't going to make it (at least not with "Make Me Wonder" but you can bet will happen with "Won't Go Home Without You" eventually) as the single is currently descending other charts.
I think Lifehouse's "First Time" will likely peak at #3, which will still be a remarkably great peak for them considering they're an artist that still hasn't really established themselves as a staple on Hot AC yet, having only one hit per album, but will be kept from the top by Daughtry and Maroon 5, and inevitably be vaulted quite likely by the Plain White T's and, by the looks of it, Fergie.
"Rockstar" will likely go Top 5, but I think will JUST make it too and will be Nickleback's first single released to the format this era that doesn't make it to #1.

Actually, I think "Hey There Delilah" might be the next #1 but I think "First Time" might over take it once it takes off on Pop. Right now it's #34 there with a bullet around 200 and thats just because the stations that were already started playing it started to increase the spins. More stations will start to add it soon I think.

That's exactly what I thought once I looked at Hot AC mediabase this morning. "Hey There Delilah" will probably jump over "First Time" in a day or two.

New prediction (taking my chances since I turned out to be right about "Delilah" overtaking "First Time" - probably should quit while I'm ahead though)-
"Big Girls Don't Cry" will pass "Hey There Delilah" in 3-4 weeks, just about the time that "Home" starts to fall from #1 - "Hey There Delilah" peaks in the Top 3, but doesn't Hit #1
I hate to say it (especially on Hot AC panel) but "Big Girls Don't Cry" although I don't like it as much, IMO has stronger lyrics than "Hey There Delilah", which will start to burn b/c it's not one of those songs that you can listen to again and again and notice a clever lyric, etc.
"Delilah" seems simlilar to "Time Of Your Life" by Green Day, which actually went up and down the charts pretty quickly (even when it was released a second time)

And you were right :( I like "First Time" much better, as I know you do. I agree with atlantaboy that "Big Girls Don't Cry" will probably jump over both of these and be the next #1- just hopinh "First Time" will get there somehow. Also look out for "When You're Gone" (haven't heard it yet but it's rising fast).

Also look out for "When You're Gone" (haven't heard it yet but it's rising fast). You're lucky you haven't heard it (don't say that on CHR/Pop panel) :) It's already starting to slow down on CHR, and trust me it'll slow way down on Hot AC - the lyrics sound like a song by New Kids On The Block Anyhow, no way "When You're Gone" is getting past #5, and I'm not sure it'll get that high - it will also (prediction coming again) drop really fast

From what I know it was. It hit the top 20 and top 10, and even top 5 before Home did. Home just barged right through to be a sure-shot #1. Both have been owning the top 2 all summer though. :)

That's insane dude. I have a feeling that Maroon 5 will be number 1 for a day before it's taken over by either Plain White T's or Fergie.

Fergie's bullet has dropped, so I think "Hey There Delilah" will be at #1 for a while. I think "Over You" by Daughtry will hit #1. It's finally starting to pick up some real steam, although I haven't heard it on the radio yet.
