Those are two good examples, I think b/c Phildelphia doesn't have a Hot AC, and L. A. has a poorly rated (or two poorly rated, can't remember) Hot AC's

Well, Bob Marley never gained a real mass pop appeal, so he would still be an alternative to the mainstream - even though his music is not alternative-rock sounding.
