38 31 BOWLING FOR SOUP When We Die 2006 Jive/Zomba 385 310 75 1.192
What do you guys think about this one? It's making some pretty good strides right now.
Thier hit "1985" peaked at #7 here back in 2004.

Can't see this one as a big hit except on Hot AC's (and Top 40's) that love all the new young punk bands (Click Five, Boys Like Girls, Yellowcard, Good Charlotte, etc.) - sorry, not sure if "punk" is the right label - not sure what else to label them as

I just heard "When We Die" for the 1st time, and saw the video also.
There's nothing "punk" about this song. The message is almost reminiscent of "Living Years" by Mike & the Mechanics. It focuses on the lead singer being at odds with his father during most of his life, but they're reunited finally with the birth of a new baby.
I think it's pretty good. Not showing a great deal of movment on Hot AC, but I'm hoping more stations add it and give it a good share of spins. It's a nice change of pace for Bowling for Soup; although I also liked their pop-punk hit "1985" when it came out a few years ago.

This song isn't "punk" but the band is (or young fast-beat Green Day-influenced rock, whatever you call that) The message may be similar to Mike+The Mechanics, but stations that would play "The Living Years" wouldn't touch this song :) I also think this song is as well-constructed as "The Living Years" was

Even though Bowling for Soup is considered to be somewhat of a novelty punk-pop band, their songs have some good messages.
"High School Never Ends" really speaks the truth. I liked the "1985" song, and the video was hilarious. Now this latest hit "When We Die" is a lot more serious and sentimental, but it shows how much this band can diversify their music, and show that they really have some good talent.
