Her Time Is Now The independent-minded Grace Potter & The Nocturnals from rural Vermont have been building momentum over the past few years through constant touring and a couple of independent releases -- including "Nothing But the Water," which was eventually picked up by Hollywood.
Led by the vivacious 24-year-old Potter, this blues-rock quartet takes music from many eras and blends it into a fresh and engaging sound: As you'll recall, many of you walked away impressed after you saw them perform at last year's R&R Triple A Summit.
Now Grace and the boys return with "This Is Someplace." Produced by Mike Daly, it reveals the band's potential coming into full bloom -- the songs are accomplished and the playing inspired.
Things kick off with the politically minded "Ah Mary." Says Potter of the song, "I wanted to challenge my own creative potential. Until this point, I’d never written a political song. I began to feel that the time was right, and out came ‘Ah Mary’ -- and Mary sure does have her issues!”
As you might expect, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals have dates booked all the way through September already.
