[blue] 05/06/07 [/blue] #1: "If Everyone Cared" holds at #1 for a third week. Oldest Song: "Chasing Cars" with 48 weeks on. Oldest Song below #15: "Keep Holding on" with 23 weeks. Possibly Going to Recurrent: "Not Ready To Make Nice" could go recurrent at any time. Going to Recurrent: "Keep Holding on" will be removed for next week. Biggest Mover: Several songs tie for the biggest mover by moving up 4 notches, including, but not limited to "Home" (13-9), "Better than Me" (17-13), "Other Side of the World" (24-20), and "Girlfriend" (25-21). Debuts: Lifehouse enter at #30 with "First Time", their 7th hit. Mandy Moore scores her first Hot AC hit with "Extraordinary", at #37. Newcomers Plain White T's anchor the chart at #40 with "Hey There Delilah". Exiting the Survey: "Waiting for the World to Change", 45 weeks, to recurrent "Irreplaceable", 20 weeks, to recurrent "Welcome to the Black Parade", 20 weeks, to recurrent Other Notes: Recurrent Madness: "Keep Holding on" is accidentally left on at #16. Meanwhile, "Not Ready to Make Nice" is left on down at #38. The song has a small bullet. Interestingly, the Wreckers were removed from near their peak as in the top 20 as soon as they lost their bullet earlier this year. "Before He Cheats" spends a third week at #7. "Never Again" hits a brick wall and only inches up 1 to #17. Fergie's "Glamorous" enters the top 30, moving up 4 to #27. Interestingly, the Wreckers were removed from near their peak as in the top 20 as soon as they lost their bullet earlier this year. You know, it's becoming very obvious to me that Mediabase does not want to remove more than a couple of recurrent ready songs out of the top 20 in any given week. I'm not sure why, but my guess is that they would have a "flurry" of activity one week, and then the potential for a "dead" chart the next week. By "controlling" the number of recurrents they remove, Mediabase keeps the chart flowing at a more consistent rate. That's my theory anyway. But if it turns out that they again forgot to remove a song, then that's totally inexcusable and embarrassing, especially for the person(s) reviewing the chart.

Do you think they leave them there on purpose? Or accidentaly?

That's an interesting observation. Do you think they leave them there on purpose? Or accidentaly? I personally think they leave them there on purpose. I find it hard to believe that they are accidentally left on, when you consider how easy the job of proofreading a chart is. A first grader can spot which songs should be removed!

[blue] 05/13/07 [/blue] #1: "If Everyone Cared" holds at #1 for a fourth week. Oldest Song: "Chasing Cars" with 49 weeks on. Oldest Song below #15: "This Ain't a Scene..." with 20 weeks. Possibly Going to Recurrent: "Chasing Cars" will go recurrent when it falls below #15. Going to Recurrent: "This Ain't a Scene" should be removed for next week. Biggest Mover: Lifehouse takes a 9 notch leap up the chart to #21. In a close second, "Hey There Delilah" jumps 8 to #32. Debuts: Snow Patrol get a fourth hit with "Signal Fire" at #37. They have 2 songs in the bottom 10 and 3 total on the chart. Newcomer John McLaughlin enters at #38 with "Beautiful Disaster". Incubus are one hit wonders no more, as their second charting song, "Dig", enters at #40. Exiting the Survey: "Keep Holding on", 23 weeks, to recurrent "Not Ready to Make Nice", 21 weeks, to recurrent "You Give Me Something", 7 weeks Other Notes: Medibase wants to forget their mistakes: On the chart available at mediabasemusic.com, the "Last Week" positions do not reflect "Keep Holding on" being left on the chart. For example, "Dig" shows a last week position of #40 but only 1 week on the chart. "Chasing Cars" slips out of the top 10 after spending 34 weeks there. Gwen Stefani inches up to #2, looking for her first solo #1 on Hot AC. Pink gets her first top 10, as "U + Ur Hand" moves 12-10. "Smile" slips from its peak of #22 to #24. Akon slips 2 to #34. Top 50 Hot AC chart can be found at: www.americasmusiccharts.com/index.cgi?fmt=A2 All chart data (C) Mediabase 24/7.

Do I have to keep bumping this? If you're waiting on the update...Patience my fellow HAC fan. ;) The "real-world" takes up most of my time...compiling the HAC stats usually has to wait 'til near the end of the week.

"Let's line 'em up and count 'em down!" :) [blue] 05/20/07 [/blue] #1: "If Everyone Cared" holds at #1 for a fifth week. Oldest Song: "Chasing Cars" with 50 weeks on. Oldest Song below #15: "Colorful" with 19 weeks. Possibly Going to Recurrent: "Chasing Cars" will go recurrent when it falls below #15. Going to Recurrent: None next week. Biggest Mover: Two songs are tied for biggest mover: "First Time" (21-16) (this was the biggest mover last week), and "Extraordinary" (35-30). Debuts: Justin Timberlake debuts with his fourth solo hit, "Summer Love", at #38. Nickelback's "Rockstar" re-enters for a third third time. This time the song returns at #40. The song made its first appearance back in November. Exiting the Survey: "This Ain't a Scene...", 20 weeks, to recurrent "New Shoes", 14 weeks Other Notes: Daughtry are back-to-back with themselves at numbers 4 and 5 with "It's Not Over" and "Home". Snow Patrol are also back-to-back with themselves, but they are down at numbers 35 and 36 with "Signal Fire" and "You're All I Have". Maroon 5 outdo their last hit, "Sunday Morning", by moving up to #3 with "Makes Me Wonder". "Sunday Morning" peaked at #4. Rob Thomas must love the number 6 position. "Streetcorner Symphony" spent 11 weeks at #6 during its run (peaking at #4). "Little Wonders" spends a 5th (non consecutive) week at #6, after peaking at #5 back in April. Breaking into the top 30 this week: Plain White T's (32-28), Vega 4 (31-29), and Mandy Moore (35-30). Akon rebounds to a new peak of #31 with "Don't Matter" Chart parallels: Mika and the Killers are at numbers 32 and 33 respectfully this week. Both songs have been on the chart for 15 weeks, and both songs peaked at #26. Top 50 Hot AC chart can be found at: www.americasmusiccharts.com/index.cgi?fmt=A2 All chart data (C) Mediabase 24/7.

[blue] 05/27/07 [/blue] #1: "If Everyone Cared" holds at #1 for a sixth week. Oldest Song: "Chasing Cars" with 51 weeks on. Oldest Song below #15: "Colorful" with 20 weeks. Possibly Going to Recurrent: "Chasing Cars" will go recurrent when it falls below #15. Going to Recurrent: "Colorful" is eligible to go to recurrent next week, but probably won't if it retains its bullet. Biggest Mover: "Rockstar" vaults 8 notches to #32, giving the song a new peak in its 12th week on the chart. Debuts: Emerson Hart debuts at #38 with "If You're Gonna Leave". Exiting the Survey: "You're All I Have", 6 weeks Other Notes: "Home" moves up another 2 notches to #3. It's run the past few weeks: 9-7-5-3. Is #1 next week? Rob Thomas and Carrie Underwood return to the previous peaks of #5 and #7 respectfully. Kelly Clarkson moves up 1 to #12, but only has a bullet of +1. "Other Side of the World" rebounds to #20. "Undeniable" spends a 4th week at #23. Akon enters the top 30, moving 31-29 with "Don't Matter". The Inside Radio version of the Mediabase HAC chart lists 90 stations monitored, while All Access lists 100+ stations monitored. Both charts are identical. If one were to go by the Inside Radio charts, which actually lists the # of stations a song is on, the song in the top 20 on the least amount of stations is "Cupid's Chokehold", which is on 56 stations. In the top 30, the lowest number of stations is Akon's "Don't Matter", which is only on 20 stations. In the entire top 40, "Summer Love" has the lowest stations with only 14.
