Can anyone find out why "Suddenly I See" was left on the chart an extra day despite falling to #16, and then taken out this morning after the weekly chart was already published? Very curious move indeed, right up there with the readdition of "Put Your Records On".

[blue] 04/08/07 [/blue] #1: "It's Not Over" spends an eighth week at #1. Oldest Song: "Chasing Cars" with 44 weeks on. Oldest Song below #15: "Suddenly I See" with 33 weeks Possibly Going to Recurrent: None that close yet. "U + Ur Hand" is eligible, but since the song is still climbing it shouldn't be removed. Going to Recurrent: "Suddenly I See", "Snow (Hey Oh)" Biggest Mover: After flying onto the chart at #22 last week, Maroon 5 jump up 7 to #15. Debuts: Daughtry rack up a second hit as "Home" enters at #34 for the week's highest debut. Veteran group Bon Jovi debut at #35 with "(You Want to) Make a Memory". This is the group's 11th HAC hit. Newcomers to Hot AC Red Jumpsuit Apparatus come in at #37 with "Face Down". Exiting the Survey: "Nothing Left to Lose", 46 weeks, to recurrent "Leave the Pieces", 21 weeks, to recurrent "Here (In Your Arms)", 12 weeks Other Notes: Gwen Stefani ties her solo peak on the HAC chart. "The Sweet Escape" moves 7-4 in its 2nd week in the top 10. Recurrent madness: "Suddenly I See" is accidentally left on as it falls to #16 in its 33rd week. Meanwhile, "Leave the Pieces" was at its peak of #20 and was removed. "Put Your Records on" is in its 27th week overall and loses spins, but remains on the chart as a current. Big Movers: 3 songs move up 5 notches this week: "Cupid's Chokehold" (29-24), "Undeniable" (35-30), "Other Side of the World" (38-33). To leave a song on "accidentally" is terrible! First, the wrong song was removed, and second, leaving "Suddenly I See" on an extra week was wrong since the four songs behind it could not move up. Who over at Mediabase is proofreading these charts before they are released?

Go Rob. Let's see if LW can hit the top 3. Ditto. I really hope he does again. I think this song deserves to be #1, it's a shame that pop songs might ruin its chances (with the exception of Maroon 5 who is good for the format).

Debuts: Kelly Clarkson blasts onto the chart all the way up at #22 with "Never Again", tying the record for the highest debut on the 40 position chart. This is her 9th hit. Akon earns his first hit at #36 with "Don't Matter". While Akon can be heard on "The Sweet Escape", Mediabase's charts do not give him credit. (Overall, Rob Thomas has the most number ones if you count MB20, "Smooth", and his solo) Justin Timberlake now has his biggest hit since "What Goes Around..." inches up to #15. Pink ties for her biggest hit on HAC as "U + Ur Hand" climbs 1 to #16. "Get the Party Started" and "Don't Let Me Get Me" also peaked at #16. "Cupid's Chokehold" spends a third week at #24. [blue] 04/29/07 [/blue] #1: "If Everyone Cared" holds at #1 for a second week. Oldest Song: "Chasing Cars" with 47 weeks on. Oldest Song below #15: "Irreplaceable", "Welcome to the Black Parade", and "Not Ready to Make Nice" with 20 weeks. Possibly Going to Recurrent: "Waiting on the World to Change" and "Keep Holding on" will go to recurrent when they fall below #15. Going to Recurrent: "Irreplaceable", "Welcome to the Black Parade", and "Not Ready to Make Nice" should all go recurrent next week. "Home" has been a biggest mover for 3 weeks in a row. Debuts: Linkin Park enter at #40 with "What I've Done", their fourth hit. Exiting the Survey: "Into the Ocean", 26 weeks, to recurrent Other Notes: Maroon 5 reach the top 5 at #5 in their 5th week on the chart. John Mayer earns his 7th top 10 as "Gravity" climbs 2 to #10. His only song not to make the top 10 is the similar sounding title "Clarity". Could the Fray be suffering from 'recurrentitis'? "Look After You" loses over a 100 spins and falls 1 to #12. Pink now has her biggest hit ever on Hot AC. "U + Ur Hand" climbs 2 to #14. Bon Jovi move up 4 to #27. "Make a Memory" is also currently in the Country chart top 40. "You're All I Have" by Snow Patrol spends a third week at #37. Top 50 Hot AC chart can be found at: www.americasmusiccharts.com/index.cgi?fmt=A2 All chart data (C) Mediabase 24/7.
