Pretty much a standard show here. Lots of 90s extras this week. Highlights include the Long Distance Dedication and the final segment.

I think before Casey introduced the number one song, he had a look back to how the countdown began, which was on the 4th of July 1970. He also pointed out the very first LDD, the very first number one song (Mama Told Me Not To Come) as well as several music trends throughout the 39 years. Also, after the number one song was played, he ended with the countdown with his famous quote "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars".

I miss Casey Kasem on AT40, and now AT20 is over. The end of a major era in radio history...

Anything on Sunday (early) evenings?
If not, I'll just obtain a copy of it somehow.

I listened to the last hour on the KBIG stream. Very nicely done, and as I stated before, a very low key way of ending things.
Thanks for all the great work all these years Casey! :)

FYI that was my LDD this week. :) I'm so excited I got it on the final show. Well, at least it wasn't a dedication to your dead dog. :) But, seriously, great dedication and a perfect song. I'd like to think it echoed the sentiments of anyone who has been a fan of Casey's over the years. It, certainly echoed mine. I hadn't listened Casey as frequently since he left AT40, but I made a point of listening to, both, AT20 and AT10 this weekend. Loved the last segment with the little trip into AT40's past. And Casey's words of wisdom before the closing credits were a nice way to end things: "I'd like to share with you something I've learned over the years. Success doesn't happen in a vacuum. You're only as good as the people you work with and the people you work for. I've been lucky. I worked for and with the very best." And how strange, yet appropriate, was it that the last two songs played were titled "If Today Was Your Last Day" and "Second Chance"? Take a bow, Casey. It's been a job well done. The weekends will feel a little emptier, now...

Was great to hear "Bed Of Roses" by Bon Jovi. I don't believe I've heard that song since the end of 1993, on the year-end countdowns.

FYI, the Fox News Channel this morning aired a blurb about Casey's final show. It basically stated that Casey retired while he was still on top of his game. So taking that into consideration, it sounds like he retired on his own. BUT of course, there could be other reasons that have not come out yet.
