I was waiting the whole decade in hopes AT20 would do a Hot AC countdown of the 2000s, similar to what they did for the '90s (or attempted to do). Now that AT20 is gone I can scratch that idea. Does anybody know whether Rick Dees or anybody else would most likely do something similar to that? Hot AC Guru's all-time charts are good, but I'm wondering whether anybody will do a spin-based countdown.
While we're at it, do you think that if AT20 would have done a spin-based countdown, some of the songs would have inflated play counts? I remember earlier on in the decade there were way more songs getting 4000+ plays, probably because of larger panels and such.
Any thoughts?

When AT40 did a countdown of the songs of the 1990s I don't remember it being spin-based.

I had wondered that myself. I had emailed the staff of AT20 earlier this year asking about that and they said they had plans to do both a Top 30 decade special for AT20 AND a Top 60 of the year. Too bad this will never happen. :(

If AT20 continued I'm pretty sure that the Top 60 of the year would air on the 12/19 and 12/26 weekends with the Top 30 of the decade on the 1/2/10 weekend. However, I plan to do a Top 30 of the decade for the Mediabase Hot AC chart so look out for it here at the end of the year.

Do you have a subscription with Mediabase or something? Or are you keeping track of spins yourself?

While not the decade end countdown, here are the top 60 songs during AT20's history (March 1998-July 2009). Please note that the inverse point system takes into account the entire Hot AC chart, not just the top 20. For a song to be counted, it must have peaked during AT20s existence. Enjoy!

Wow! Thanks for compiling this so quick Hot AC Guru! Though you may want to change Vanessa Williams to Vanessa Carlton at song #22.
