How is this even charting here? It's got a decent hook to it that appeals to adult listeners, and may have a decent run here. But again, the rap is a bit of an issue with me. Now I know "In The End" by Linkin Park was one of the first rap songs to make a big impact on the Hot AC chart, and I don't mind a select few rap songs making the chart. I can live with "Tik Tok" and "Meet Me Halfway" charting as both are decent mass appeal pop hits that appeal to a wide range of listeners of all ages. But I don't want to see this chart become saturated with too many songs like this all at once. The reason being is that when this occurs the Hot AC chart fails to live up to it's reputation of being it's "own" unique format. In other words it turns into a CHR chart. Of course I understand perfectly well why Hot AC is embracing more pop crossover songs these days. Because CHR is failing in its mission to be the mass appeal format it used to be, and Hot AC's core audience is changing accordingly. Now I don't mean to sound like I hate seeing pop crossover songs doing well on this chart. I do. But I would also like to see the Hot AC format continue to serve it's mission of breaking it's own core artists to keep its core fresh and strong for years to come. But playing a lot of Ke$ha and Kanye West won't necessarily help the Hot AC format keep it's own identity. In other words a few pop crossovers I can live with, but too many could hurt this format in the long run.

But I guess the chorus is pretty HAC worthy and the lyrics do appeal to HAC listeners.

I thought the rap would keep it off hot AC, but then again, if Crazy Town can chart with "Butterfly", then I guess anything can.
