My favorite song from the album... Was it officially added?

this is my 2nd favorite - I love Heartbreak Warfare a little more than this one - but this is so "Mayer-ish" (making up words) and has a great hook.
I don't usually like an artist's new record so quickly as I did this one.

No. "Half Of My Heart" has to be next. This is a good song though.

My favorite song from the album... Was it officially added? No third single has been officially announced yet. His recent Playboy interview controversy doesn't appear to have negatively affected his chart stature. "Heartbreak Warfare" is still steadily rising within the Top 30 of Mainstream Top 40 radio and is at literally the same chart position on iTunes as it had been prior to the news breaking, while the album is selling steadily as well. That said, "Half Of My Heart" is his best choice at sinewing his staple status. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

I love this, but I hope "Half Of My Heart is the third single.

This got one add and a few test spins in the past week on a few Hot AC stations. I'm wondering if this is going to be the fourth single from Battle Studies.

The local AAA was one of the ones that picked it up before "Half of My Heart" was officially declared #3, at which point they yanked it from rotation. It sounded good in the car.

This song sounds good anywhere. Since Half Of My Heart is done, either this song or Assassin should follow.

I agree that this would make a good fourth single. I probably like "All We Ever Do Is Say Goodbye" and "Friends, Lovers, Or Nothing" better, but this is much more radio friendly.

This song is so much more listener-friendly than "Assassin" and while I love "Friends, Lovers or Nothing", it's way too long and I'd hate to see it edited down by a good two minutes. LOVE this track so much, not just my fave off the album but one of my faves of his period. I can see it doing really well.

I think Mayer's eager to put this era to bed, given he deleted his Twitter account last week to signal the end of touring behind "Battle Studies".
If he did go with a fourth single, I sure hope he doesn't go with "Perfectly Lonely", which would only sinew the light-rock slowhand heartthrob image that overshadows his artistry. He needs to release something with more edge, and I don't think he'd have anything to lose in releasing "Assassin". "Battle Studies" has sold steadily even after the infamous Playboy interview and now has domestic sales around one million, and he's had two sizable hits as opposed to the sole sizable hit he had during the "Continuum" era.
"Battle Studies" was only an above-satisfactory era of his to me as it is, while "Continuum" was excellent and its two predecessors were great. I for one am ready for the follow-up, preferably the long-delayed full-length studio album from the John Mayer Trio.

Anyone who loves Mayer knows how talented he is and if theydon't and want to know any more.. they'll buy the cd. Radio plays hit songs! And this is a hit! :)

And this is a hit! :) Which is precisely why releasing something with more teeth like "Assassin" would be ideal in showing listeners who DON'T know how talented he really is, especially in terms of musicianship, all that he has to offer............rather than mistaking him as just another peer-reviewed sensitive heart-on-his-sleeve pretty boy product of the music industry as has unfortunately been suggested often.............and give those who are skeptically on the fence more a reason to pay the full price of the record. Mayer has nothing to lose at this point. "Battle Studies" has sold just fine even without a hit of the staying power of "Daughters" or "Your Body is a Wonderland" and the scandals that have distracted him. I say go for a left-field release if he does release anything else. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

I understand what your saying though, Just like Rob Thomas's Cradelsong..."Her Diamonds","someday","Mockingbird" all 3 top 5 hits! But "Wonderful" would show the rock side chops Thomas still has, especially the "When I come home late..everybody wants me so i give it away..i'm a wanted man" part, Man, that guy has soul & can sing his heart out...something i wish radio knew and to sell the cd a little more :)

I can't get enough of that song.

^ That means 2 Hot AC stations have added this to their playlist. That's a start, I must say, given that "Half of My Heart" is still Top 10. :)

Did this actually go for HAC adds? It has not. I don't think it will either. Mayer already confirmed the end of promoting "Battle Studies" recently. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus
