I don't want this to hit HAC :( I'm actually very surprised that "Only Girl (In the World)" has made it Top 20 with a huge bullet, although "DJ"'s in the Top 15 with a fine bullet, Bruno Mars is at #1, and "Like a G6" actually hit the Top 40, so I guess the charts changing :(

I think whenever artist like Usher, Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry & Lady Gaga get mass appeal songs, hot ac which i was talking in another post, the ac active stations which are current heavy are trying to balance out the pop/rock with a touch of dance/r&b that adults won't mind. trying to fill the gap between ac and chr and mix stations!

Don't really understand why we need to create a new classification for them - if they're current-heavy, they're CHR
This "Active AC" thing sounds like something Clear Channel came up with so that these stations don't directly challenge their rhythmic-leaning CHRs (just my opinion though lol) - for example, WTMX is slaughtering Kiss/Chicago right now, and if WTMX was labeled as CHR, it would make WKSC look REALLY bad

^I just have a problem with Clear Channel (and CBS) deciding that CHR now means "teen CHR", and that adults now need a current heavy Top 40 "just for them" - IMO an adult-leaning CHR (or current-heavy HAC) is still a CHR
BTW where are you getting the term "Active AC"? (Just wondering...)
