Yep, it's happened. Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey recorded a duet of Mariah's classic Christmas hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You." Audio LinkAnd it is now on the AC chart: --- 35 JUSTIN BIEBER/MARIAH CAREY All I Want For Chris... Island/IDJMG 2011 47 0 47 Personally I think the duet is terrible.

Flop. AC will never let this version go #1.

Michael Buble's version already is top 15 and probably has a shot at No. 1 at the format.
And, yes, Bieber brings this version WAY down.

This did not make a big move on Mediabase's chart, for info including post-Thanksgiving-day. It's at No. 16, with 186 spins (six less than it had yesterday). Mimi's 2010 ExtraFestive version, meanwhile, sits at No. 24, with 109 spins.

Lost 12 spins with today's update- No. 17, with 174 spins. AC looks like it will give this version only so much play (not surprisingly). Bieber's own "Mistletoe" is right behind at No. 18, while Mimi's "ExtraFestive" is at No. 22.

While at No. 20 on Mediabase's AC chart, this moves 18-11 on Billboard's 12/10 chart. Buble's cover of the original jumps to No. 1.

Will be interesting to see the Billboard AC ranking for the new week (which was seven or so spots higher than Mediabase last week). it's currently No. 21 on Mediabase's chart (it may rise if any track goes recurrent), with spins losses. Seveteen AC stations have played it in the last week (compared to 78 for Buble's version).

Anyone know what happened here? Yesterday, it was at No. 22 with 148 spins; with today's update, it is No. 11, with 284 spins. It's been losing spins daily, so this kinda came out of nowhere. On a possible related note, the ExtraFestive version of AIWFCIY had 253 spins on the AC Recurrent chart, and now only has 108. Hmmm...

Is it also possible that a couple of stations didn't switch to holiday music until this week? Delilah makes some sense, though- forgot about her show.

On the last published chart, it was #21. This week, it's up from #9 to #7, instead of #21 to #7.

Is it me, or is this just a mash-up of the original song with new vocals by Justin B.? Either way, it's a monstrosity. :o

^Pretty much- I think, it takes some of the "ExtraFestive" from last year's version, adds Bieber and- boom- it's "SuperFestive!" I think it's kinda funny that some thought it would be an, overall, BIG hit for the holidays. If it's performed next week on X Factor, it possibly may re-enter the Hot 100- but then again, if a live performance is as much of a hot mess as the recording, maybe it will boost the original a little more. Plus, that's just a few days before Christmas, past the peak of holiday-music buying.
