It sounds even more like "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" to me (instrumentals, key, and melody--the first line of the second verse is even identical). Definitely a hit, though--hopefully that's the next single!

Up to #52 on Itunes..moved 10 places since the "perfomance" on Jimmy. Lol, it's just such a piss off. She has an amazing voice and can clearly perform this live (as she proved on Jimmy) so why didn't she promote it? It was up 10 positions just from that tiny promo spot. People shouldn't blame the song. The song is good. The only one's to blame for this song's peak and the upcoming opening album sales are RCA and Christina.

Not sure how anyone can say something's a definite hit, smash, whatever. That is not the case- other factors come into play, especially for acts who have been around for sometime. Like said, maybe she can squeeze out another Hot 100 top 40, but I'd be highly surprised if she scored, say, a top 10.

I adore 'Your Body', but I am surprised that they went with it as the first single when they had the epicness that is 'Let There Be Love' waiting in the wings. That said, I'm a little hesitant to start screeching that 'LTBL' will be a smash since I was convinced that 'Your Body' would be a hit, too, but who knows. Hopefully it does well.

Now it's at #46....if this had some type of promotion, it definitlly wouldnt flop...Yep its RCA and Xtina fault. Album is out in a week and still nothing,no perfomance or something...sighhh

Yeah, I can't believe that the album is out next week and she hasn't performed this even one time. (I don't count Fallon since it was more of a skit/sketch than a proper performance.) Like, what is she thinking?? I just don't understand it. Does she want to flop?

It is quite strange. She must have something in her Voice contract that prohibits her from performing new material until she does so on the show. There's just no other logical reason. I'm not looking forward to seeing those first week numbers.

This is one of the oddest roll-outs that I've seen for a major recording artist, especially considering that said artist is supposedly trying to make a comeback. Where's the promotion? The buzz? 'Your Body' dropped, and then...nothing. I expected her to pimp out the song and album non-stop leading up to the latter's release - much like she did with 'Not Myself Tonight' and Bionic - but no. Even Britney performed 'Womanizer' and 'Hold It Against Me' a few times before those respective albums came out. I'm seriously baffled. Were they expecting 'YB' to fly up the charts just because it's a Max Martin track? I'm not looking forward to seeing those first week numbers. Yeah, they're going to be pretty dismal.

"Let Be There Love" is exactly what Christina needs. It's current, upbeat, and most importantly, Christina is still able to make it her own. It's also not an "in-your-face" sex anthem like "Your Body" or "Not Myself Tonight". I hope she performs LTBL at the AMA's; it would be the perfect catalyst for future success.

I like LTBL but I had a hard time finding what the chorus was on my first listen ??? I still prefer Your Body but it's very good and if she PROMOTES it, this could go far.

I still can't understand why they chose "Your Body" over "Let There Be Love" as the first single. They have possibly ruined the chance for "Let There Be Love" to hit #1. I mean....

Ok, it's not like a second single has never done better than the first single, this used to be a pretty frequent thing where subsequent singles outperformed the first release from major eras, just because Your Body didn't do amazing doesn't set the pace for Let There Be Love, there's definitely still interest in this project.

^ That's completly true, but everyone's major concern now is that without a hit on her hands she won't sell albums.

That's why I said possibly. We could be looking at another Dirrty/Beautiful situation (except LTBL is another dance song) or LTBL won't make a blip on the pop radar.

So, do people think the track itself is not strong enough to have done well without her pushing it? I don't think multiple performances would have sent sales through the roof- after all, the video itself didn't have much of an impact (and we've seen instances where a video has impacted a single greatly).
I know mega-fans don't like to think it, but I think she's in a position that no matter what she releases, it's not going to SMASH (by that, I mean No. 1 or even top 10 on the Hot 100). That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I don't think Christina is as hated as many people make her out to be. Artists like Chris Brown who have had even worse controversies (for lack of a better word), have still been able to score hits despite an ongoing negative reputation, so I don't think that Christina is in a position where "no matter what she releases" she can't score another smash. Despite a snicker about her attitude then and there, I mostly hear nothing but great things about how vocally talented she is. The problem with "Your Body" was that she did not promote it at ALL; not who the artist singing it was.

But, soulsurfin, if it was a track that connected with listeners/video watchers, it would have performed better than it has. That is the bottom line.
She's still young in the pop-music world, so there's probably other factors going on other than the fact that she didn't perform the song multiple times.

Exactly she could have done at least something ...at this point its just stupid to promote the 1st single thats already out for 2 and half months. Bullshit, "Die Young" and "Diamonds" didn't have promo, nor even a video, and they are doing great. Furthermore, while DY is extremelly commercial (just like YB), "Diamonds" do not have half the smash appeal that YB has. Saying that this flopped because it is Christina or that this flopped because it had no promo, given that it shouldn't need so as she has the hype of not releasing something in years, being a judge on The Voice and coming off a gynormous flop is exactly the same. She should have sold off the strenght of her name, like K$ and Robyn. Both statementds do nothing else that confirming that she has definitedly fallen from the pop-scene food chain.
