I was wondering when they'd formally announce the deal, lol. I had him added to the roster a few days ago already. Now let's see if there's some sort of formal announcement with Dallas Smith..

Found this in the Faith Hill thread. I have the same question: Faith is no longer listed under "Artists" on the Warner Brother's website.... Anyone know what this could mean?

Found this in the Faith Hill thread. I have the same question: Faith is no longer listed under "Artists" on the Warner Brother's website.... Anyone know what this could mean? It almost certainly means she's been dropped from Warner's roster (most likely, it was a mutual thing, where she asked to be let go and the label obliged). It could be where she was ready to try with another single again but Warner said "well, we're kind of tied up with our other artists now, so we can't slot you in until sometime this fall or early next year". That's how it often goes with many labels; as a matter of fact, that's exactly what happened with Big & Rich and Warner Bros...Big & Rich had finished their album and were ready to go with a single, but Warner told them it'd be a while because they were working too many other artists to radio. So Big & Rich asked to be let go, and then they formed their own label and hired New Revolution to promote "Look At You" to radio. That's all speculation, of course, and I'm probably biased, but I think it's a good guess. I think Faith and Warner parted ways, most likely because Faith asked to terminate her contract with them.

It's speculation but I'd be shocked if that isn't what happened. Warner Music isn't going to drop Faith Hill, especially at this time with Faith having been absent at radio for so long. John Esposito is someone who has a well defined schedule he likes to follow and that's why an artist like Ryan Kinder hasn't gotten his single out yet. The fact that Faith would have to wait a bit makes total sense and I wouldn't be surprised one bit if she asked to leave the label. I'm sure there was a little back and forth but in the end, if Faith wanted to leave, then she could. It will be interesting to see where this leaves Faith and if she has any sort of plans on new music by the end of 2015 or early 2016.

Ok I decided since I was bored to look at the labels and look at acts that unless things turn around for them soon they could be dropped soon. First Up Universal Music. Starting with Capitol Nashville. I see no one in immediate danger but I think Jon Pardi and Mickey Guyton look to be the ones at the bottom unless Joey Hyde had a song before. Overall everyone appears pretty good. EMI Kelleigh Bannen and hopefully Haley Georgia one cant get a hit the other shouldn't amount too much. MCA really no one unless it is voluntary with Vince Gill. Lauren Aliana hands down she needs a hit soon and by soon I mean by the end of next year or else she is done. Arista OK is your name Brad Carrie or Kix your safe if not you are in trouble. Next one is Casey James and Steven Lee Olsen needs a hit soon real soon. MCA I don't really see any immediate at all. Next up Warner Gloriana The Railers and Charlie Worsham desperately need a hit or they'll get picked apart one by one. That is allI will do for now

I wonder if Faith would be interested in Nash Icon! I think that could be a very good move for her to consider, if she is indeed now a free agent...

It's idle speculation. I can say that Pardi, Guyton, Georgia and Clare Dunn are " pet projects" of Mike Dungan. They're not going anywhere. Same goes for Worsham at WMG with Espo (he's working on album #2 right now). Any younger or underperforming act at Sony is susceptible to being dropped when the new CEO takes over. Speaking of that, if it is indeed Jason Owen, look for rumors of Faith Hill going there (she's managed by his company, which he'd still run).

Show Dog hires Katie Kettlehut as new Promotion Coordinator: Music Row So, what is the status of Show Dog. Which artists are with them still. As far as I know, Toby and Krystal Keith, Josh Thompson and Native Run. Although I don't know that for sure since they no longer have a website. This hiring shows that Toby is keeping this label going, though his money. Toby knows Katie well through her work with TKO Management, so I'm sure they're hoping for some better days ahead with radio promotion, but I don't see it myself. They had a restructure with UMG Nashville, but UMG is only handling their A&R, finance and marketing. Radio promotion is still Show Dog's responsibility.

Well Katie Armiger leaving just ruined my day. She was always one I thought would somehow get mainstream success. Maybe if she was blonde she would've faired better. [JK of course]

Anybody know what the deal is with Southern Ground Records? Up until a couple of weeks ago, the website was www.southerngroundrecords.com, and for artists they listed AJ Ghent Band, Clay Cook, Dugas, Levi Lowrey, Little Feather, Niko Moon, The Wood Brothers, and of course the Zac Brown Band. Now it just redirects to a totally redesigned website, www.southernground.com, and there's no mention of any of the artists other than the Zac Brown Band. Instead, the site is divided into 4 sections: "The Music", "The Food", "The Craft", and "The Cause", all of which fall under Zac's Southern Ground brand. If you click on "The Music" tab, it's got a brief bio on the Zac Brown Band, and little bits about the Southern Ground Nashville studio and the Southern Ground Amphitheater in Fayetteville, but there's no mention of any other artists. "The Food" page is of course about Zac's restaurants and the Southern Ground Music & Food Festival. "The Craft" page highlights Zac's metal shop, carpentry, and lifestyle brands. And "The Cause" page links to the Camp Southern Ground website. I never expected any of the other artists to ever get a push to country radio, but I'm just curious what the situation is with Southern Ground -- is it just Zac's label/brand now, with no other artists attached to it?

Was Dwight Yoakam with Warner's Nashville label or L.A.? Wow, Josh Abbott Band was just there when I looked the other night (when I noticed Dean was no longer there). I wonder if Josh Abbott Band will still be associated with Atlantic, but just not Warner's Nashville division? I don't regularly check the Atlantic Records website (since it's not Nashville-based), but Josh Abbott Band isn't listed there any more, and I do think they were on there a few weeks ago (again, I can't be entirely sure though because it's not one of the websites that I regularly check). My question now is, did Atlantic/WMN still release Josh Abbott Band's Strange EP? It was due out June 23...which is today, lol. Atlantic Records will be releasing Josh Abbott Band's new EP called Strange on June 23. Source
As for Dwight, I believe he is with the LA branch now (Reprise). During the 3 Pears era he was listed on Warner Nashville's website, but when he re-worked his deal (prior to Second Hand Heart), they shifted him entirely to the LA branch. I like WMN's roster quite a bit...but at the same time I find it sad that artists like Dwight and also Brandy Clark are associated with the LA branch rather than the Nashville one. Same goes with Sturgill Simpson signing with Atlantic but not being part of Warner Nashville. They are the most country acts on Warner Bros.!! And yet they're not with the Nashville division..

Josh's EP was pulled so they can put out a full record.

Well I know it's not always 100% a label's website but why would they pull them off? I'm going by the fact that their picture was still hanging on the WMG Nashville walls last week with the entire roster. But it's certainly possible that they're no longer with the label which was a partnership anyway.

sabre14, I posted this way back in September 2013: Also, apparently Warner Music Nashville has another new name on their roster: I took William off the WMN roster quite some time ago already when I hadn't heard anything else. I figured it was a similar situation to Jackie Lee at Republic, where he was signed and then quietly dropped. There was never any announcement and William was never added to the WMN website. All we ever had was the picture above from one of the daily Aircheck emails back in September 2013.

I can't be that at fault since that was before I even signed up to Pulse, lol. Well apparently Warner just took a very slow approach with Morgan.

Senior Director of Artist Development & Marketing, Tanya Welch has exited Sony Music Nashville: Music RowThis was expected but it still doesn't bode well for some of the young artists with Sony Music Nashville as they will now have a new CEO officially announced very shortly and a new Senior Director of Artist Development & Marketing. I'm interested to see what Sony does over the course of the coming months.

Warner Music Nashville hosted an event for the Board of Country Radio Broadcasters. Music RowNo surprise that Warner is showcasing Morgan with his debut single hitting terrestrial radio soon and its already being spun on The Highway, but I'm hopeful this means we get Ryan Kinder's debut Warner Music single shortly as well.
