Someone's trolling the wiki page. John King, Kellie Pickler and The Raging Idiots are still with Black River. I never take any label roster information on Wikipedia seriously. John King was just congratulated by the label for his co-writing "We Went." Kellie still is supporting her television show and The Raging Idiots just released their album The Critics Give It 5 Stars, with multiple songs under the Black River label credit charting on Mediabase's rolling chart. idk does Black River have to do with kellie's show? i mean it's been so long since she released music :/ It's a smart move to keep her in the public conscious. She will be releasing songs to terrestrial radio again and Black River was one of the biggest supporters for her doing it.

Just like jhomes87 suspected, Gloriana has been dropped from Warner Bros. As their picture is no longer there. Not surprised and after the overall abomination that was their last album, can't say I'm all that sad they were dropped.

Pickler has to let go of trying to be classic country and go back to her first and second album sounds.

While I won't say that Kellie Pickler's first two albums were trash, they weren't great. For the most part I found them to be lightweight fluffy pop-country songs. I mean you had the occasional gem (I Wonder, Best Days Of Your Life and Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You and a few album tracks). I love 100 Proof as I found it to be flawless and The Woman I Am to be only a marginal step down in quality but still amazing. I really hope Kellie Pickler doesn't do both sides of the traditional side and the mainstream side. I personally believe her nitch is with the traditional songs myself.

I love Pickler's debut album and half of her self-titled album was great (basically the singles + "Rocks Instead of Rice"), but her last two neo-traditional albums are where she shines. That's also totally where her heart is and she fought hard with BNA to get the 100 Proof album to take the form that it did (considering it was a pretty big left turn from the pop-country sheen of its self-titled predecessor), so there's no way in hell she's going back. I don't know if she'll ever get back to scoring hits, but I do think there's still potential for it to happen with Black River, even with the more traditional-leaning music. Her last three singles have all been radio-friendly up-tempos (Gypsy, Nowhere, and Feeling Tonight -- which only went to satellite radio), despite none of them lighting up the charts. I think that going with "Someone Somewhere Tonight," while a good idea with the DWTS music video tie-in at the time, didn't do her any favors at radio and the follow-ups were probably tougher sells after that (and it looked like they didn't try too hard with "Closer to Nowhere").
I'd say just give it time. Her reality show has gone over very well and she's always maintained a decently strong following/fanbase despite her lessening impact on country radio as of late. I would like to see them try to get out her fifth studio album later this year though... I am dying for new music.

Jerrod's debut single with Curb will be released this Spring. Gotta think he has some songs he was able to get from Sony and bring them to Curb Records -- a label who will allow Jerrod to record stuff like "I Love Women (My Momma Can't Stand)" and "Blue Bandana."

Curb is making some interesting signings lately with Love and Theft and now Jerrod Niemann. They've basically just been the Lee Brice show for the last 4 or so years, so it'll be nice to see if they can start to get some more acts back up the charts and hopefully signing some semi-established and recognizable stars could potentially help them not only do that but also translate to possible some goodwill for new artists like Mo Pitney and Dylan Scott, who could use any help they can get. I'm not a fan of Jerrod or his music, and much like Love and Theft, his career seemed to be on the downward trend, so we'll see if Curb can actually make anything happen with either artist. It'll be interesting to see how things go.

That makes perfect sense. They're both Curb artists now. They both are expected with new music in the not so distant future, and Lee's current single is nearing the end of the line. I could see a joint single release of "A Little More Love", that would appear on Jerrod's Curb debut album as well as a bonus track on Lee's next studio album.

Getting palpitations already... Love "More Love"! It's such a fun track with a good vibe. // Here is the video should anyone be unaware of the song:

There's certainly interest for him. Scotty told his hometown station (WQDR) a couple weeks ago that there is interest from several labels. However, I'm not sure he's close to signing with a label yet. It sounds like he's still deciding which label is "the best fit for him." Also, another factor is he's probably trying to get his music back from Mercury/UMG.

Do you think he's better self-releasing mainly because he will have more freedom to do traditional music? If he has several labels interested unless all of them want him to "release music that he doesn't want to do," why shouldn't he pick one of them?

I'm sure he's somewhere in the two records he put out.

I saw this one coming from a mile away. I actually think it's a win-win for both parties. Curb could really benefit from having an artist with some name recognition, and they are probably the best fit for Jerrod, as I didn't think it was very likely that BBR or Black River would go after Jerrod. And I think there was even less of a chance that UMG, Warner Bros, or BMLG would have been seriously interested in signing Jerrod. So yeah, Curb was probably the best landing spot for him.

Gary Allan re-signs with UMG Nashville: Music RowGary's singles will now be promoted to Country radio through the EMI Nashville promotion staff. The resigning should give Gary a bigger focus/priority within the label group.
