Thanks! I like this: Despite a strong track record, a loyal following and plenty of critical acclaim, Ong says Capitol's strategy for Ryder was "to start from scratch" and treat her like a new artist, albeit one with some history. "In the past five years her sound has changed quite significantly," Ong explains. "Previously she was more of a folk singer, I would now. Now she's made this incredible transition. She's gone through some life changes and come out a much stronger and more positive person. That really comes across on this incredible pop-rock album."
Ong says Capitol is now pushing to cross over "Stompa" to the mainstream pop market, while sync opportunities "keep getting stronger and strong." The song has already been licensed for episodes of Grey's Anatomy and a Cadillac commercial. Now, Ong says, the sports world is taking notice. "This song is resonating with sports teams across the country," she says. "We're fielding interest from various football and basketball teams, and particularly hockey." Capitol is also trying to line up Ryder performances at some games in the future.
"I think she's really going to hit mainstream America as we continue working this album," Ong says. Meanwhile, a second single from Harmony -- "What I Wouldn't Do" which, like "Stompa," also hit No. 8 on the Canadian Hot 100 -- is just out, along with a video that premiered on VH1. Ryder is mixing headline shows with OneRepublic dates through September 8, then has a one-off with the Goo Goo Dolls on Sept. 11 in Minneapolis before she's slated to hook up with Michael Franti & Spearhead.

You are welcome. :) I am trying to look for places here in the Phoenix area to buy Harmony, but Best Buy doesn't have it an any stores in the area, Target is only showing Is It OK (and it is only available to purchase online) and Wal-Mart shows it on their site but they don't have the option Best Buy's site has to see if it is available in any stores in the area. Also, I am finding that Wal Mart is showing a Deluxe Version but it is showing it is out of stock online and doesn't list anything about it so not sure if it is to have additional songs on it or not, but here is the link to it: www.walmart.com/ip/27228427

Maybe I will see about ordering the deluxe version then since no one wants to actually carry the album in their store.

Pop group Hedley will perform at the 2013 Grey Cup halftime show in Regina. The Canadian Football League has also announced that The Sheepdogs will perform during the opening ceremonies and Serena Ryder will sing the national anthem.

GoldDerby editors posted predicted winners for the Grammy Awards, and they have Serena listed under New Artist! (... with zero votes and 100/1 odds.)

I only have access to the top fifty positions of the Canadian Hot 100 and, this week, "Stompa" fell out of the top fifty. According to the data I have compiled in the main post of this thread, which could be incorrect because I may have missed one or two charts, "Stompa" has amassed: 44 weeks on the Canadian Hot 100 41 weeks in the top 50 21 weeks in the top 20 8 weeks in the top 10

Last week's chart said it was its 44th week, peaking at #8.

I only have 44 weeks in the main post, but changed it to 45 because I figured it was still there this week, just somewhere I'm unable to access. Oh well, now I'll just have to focus on "What I Wouldn't Do," which descended just one spot to #14 this week. I hope they have a third single coming shortly.

Stompa has done so well! I really hope she gets some Grammy attention for the song, even though it hasn't really picked up at all in the US. I bet it becomes a US hit in 2014....
I wish they would release a third single. I charted What I Wouldn't Do on my personal charts beginning back in November when it was an iTunes single because at that point, I thought it was her new radio release (back before Stompa started to be big... as I thought it was a poor radio single and didn't think it would catch on... boy was I wrong!) Since then, I've chosen Fall as my personal third single for my chart and now Mary Go Round is 4th.
But in real life... she needs a third soon.

Since then, I've chosen Fall as my personal third single for my chart and now Mary Go Round is 4th. But in real life... she needs a third soon. When she was introducing "Fall" when I saw her live this past June, she said "I'm glad this isn't a single yet, because this song has some of the highest notes I have ever recorded and I would have to perform it a lot more then." I paraphrased the last part, but the fact that she said "yet" makes me think "Fall" is in contention for future release. However, "Mary Go Round" also seems like an understandable single because she has performed it at many of the radio shows she has done. I, personally, would prefer "Heavy Love" for the third single, and then one of "Fall," "Mary Go Round," or "Baby Come Back" for the fourth single.

I think I'd be fine with any of the songs as singles except Please Baby Please, which I don't find interesting as a radio single, even though it does have the makings of a classic hit ballad. I also don't think I want For You as a single because I don't think it would do well and while I love the song, I kind of like having it be my own song and not the GPs. I still don't have Fated To Love.... :( If I see the french version of the album at HMV, I might get it.... :/

Enjoying Serena Ryder's "Harmony" album (en francais!) Quite good in a second language ...out next Tues. So. She has not gone and done each song over. The new "Version française" instead simply has "What I Wouldn't Do (Version française)" and "Stompa (Version française)" included. The new version also includes both iTunes tracks, "Circle Of The Sun" and "Hey There," plus the original versions of "What I Wouldn't Do" and "Stompa." The album booklet has been translated into French, though. 01. "What I Wouldn't Do (Version française)" 02. "Fall" 03. "Call Me" 04. "Baby Come Back" 05. "Please Baby Please" 06. "For You" 07. "Heavy Love" 08. "Stompa (Version française)" 09. "Mary Go Round" 10. "Nobody But You" 11. "Circle Of The Sun" 12. "Hey There" 13. "Stompa (Version anglaise)" 14. "What I Wouldn't Do (Version anglaise)"

The new single is likely "Mary Go Round." @rockerdad: Very happy to see BC Rock Radio Stations starting play the new @serenaryder #MaryGoRound.

"Mary Go Round" is the best choice imo. Hopefully her single success continues here in Canada.

I hope they send something. I assume the next single, whatever, is for Canadian radio formats - all - while What I Wouldn't Do is the focus for US radio now.

Okay, ignore those tweets. "Fall" is not only the single, but it is smartly getting the music video treatment! @riddlefilms: On set producing our latest video for Serena Ryder's next single "Fall".

I've yet to hear either.
It's odd because sometimes CanCon artists have dual releases randomly but I think it might be that a group of stations chooses to add something on their own and then an official single is announced so the random added song continues to get play for a few weeks until the official single transitions in.

Serena has landed another American talk show appearance, this time on The Queen Latifah Show. The appearance happens Monday. (To do so, she had to regrettably postpone an appearance in Ann Arbor, Michigan which I would have been attending, and potentially two other shows.)

Ryder performed two new songs off of her latest album, which are set to be released simultaneously as her new singles 'Fall' and 'Mary Go Round.'

I met her. I repeat, I met her. I also kept talking and now she probably has my photo on some "do not let them near me" list. Hook did, too!
