Wait, is My December really in chronological order? Can anyone else confirm that?

Wait, is My December really in chronological order? Can anyone else confirm that? i don't have a source (unfortunately this is all too common with me and my memory), but I recall during promotion for the album she talked about how it basically detailed what had happened in the previous two years of her life, which aside from Breakaway's success had been pretty hard for her. She and David Hodges split up right before the Breakaway era kicked off so that at least would explain why "Never Again" was the opening track. Now that i'm thinking about it more, I don't know why it surprises me that "Irvine" is in fact the 'end' of that two year journey. The album got held up for a while b/c Clive didn't want to release it as is and Kelly didn't want to change it so it's unlikely that she added or took anything away from it in the interim...IIRC they were aiming for winter 2006, then spring 2007, before finally being released that summer. "Chivas" was a hidden track, so that possibly was not written about something that happened after Irvine.

Love my kelly, but that cma TIU performance want amazing. Still a great vocal but not great by kelly standards. She looked a lil bored and or nervous. Maybe bc it was her first time singing it live.
As for the discussions about the tour. When she was with the Fray she should have always performed 2nd bc she was by far the.bigger draw and more popular. When i saw that show, she performed first and i swear like half the people left before the fray came on. As for this tour....Maroon 5 (adam levine) are just really hot right now. They haven't had many huge tours like Kelly has, so there was real excitement for then to come on. I was at the St Louis show and Kelly fans were definitely there but it was by far Maroon 5s show, just being honest. Alot of people around me weren't even aware that Kelly was going to be there. That aside, still her best tour yet

That aside, still her best tour yet I noticed she seemed distracted during the performance, then I remembered that that was the show that she lost her engagement ring and just noticed it wasn't on her hand when she was on stage and she went to go "BOOM" and the ring wasn't there. The people that were at the concert said that all night she kept talking about it and freaking out because she couldn't remember where she left the rings. I've enjoyed later performances of TIU better because she is normally so happy and bouncy and involved in the song.

I wonder, if "Tie It Up" doesn't take off on country, how much energy she and her team/label will put into furthering her country career? How many "chances" is she giving herself/are they giving her? I mean, I think songs like "Tie It Up" and "Ain't Gonna Like This" are great in their own right, without having to be tied to a country adds date--I'd much prefer her to make songs like that than "Stronger" clones--but I wonder if country audiences just don't respond to her solo work if that will shift the direction/balance of her sixth album?

"Tie It Up" not taking off just wouldn't make sense to me. I've read people say it isn't country enough, all the while songs like "Cowboy Casanova" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" have topped the country charts.

Yeah, but people are stupid-- especially country radio listeners. It seems Twitter/social media/online article comments are more often negative about her coming into country. They don't complain about the song or her voice, just the fact that she's a pop artist. It might explain some of the low call-out scores.

"Tie It Up" not taking off just wouldn't make sense to me. I've read people say it isn't country enough, all the while songs like "Cowboy Casanova" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" have topped the country charts. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" topped the country chart fueled by sales, but did not top the country airplay chart. In fact, I believe the song almost missed the top ten. It is also worth noting that "Cowboy Casanova" was recorded by the biggest female hitmaker in country music at the moment, who has had every single go top two. The song, regardless of how pop it my have sounded, was destined to do well. As dbhmr said, Kelly is seen as an outsider, and will be subject to more criticism for sounding pop than the usual country star would be. I guess. In the end, I don't know that the fact that some don't find "Tie It Up" country enough is going to be the sole factor for its possible early demise, but it is certainly sounding like a large factor. The song has reportedly gotten downright horrible callout scores, and that does not bode well for its future. I too think "Tie It Up" should take off and I certainly expected it to, but the response from the country audience, or at least radio, has been rather lukewarm. It received a good number of adds this week, though, so I suppose that's promising.

Where were your seats? Because the people around me were not there for Kelly at all. I was practically the only person standing in my section along with a friend and a few others around me but half the audience was sitting down. During her first outfit change, I heard one person behind me say "That's it?" I was in section 1, which was the first section behind the orchestra pit seating, to the right if you were facing the stage. I think being a special guest versus a co-headliner really affected the makeup of the audience. Regardless, I won't dwell on it too much, I was just disappointed yesterday upon reflection. Looking forward to her next solo tour, as always. And I must say, I haven't been a big fan of TIU thus far, but seeing it live really sold me on it. It's funny how sometimes certain songs you aren't expecting to enjoy end up being better than the ones you want to see the most. PLU was probably the single highlight for me this go-round...really a shame that it was such a flop, as I assume it will probably be phased out of her set during the next era.

I prefer Aint Gonna Like This to Tie It Up. Just sayin. I think that "Tie It Up" is so short that I cannot feel its emotion enough. I read an interview from her and she also mentioned that they have made several country songs including "You Ain't Gonna Like This", "Go On" and so on. They seems to be interesting and please release them in the near future! :)

Well. She looks fantastic and her 'performance' shots are as adorable and charismatic as we've seen from her since probs the My Life Would Suck video. That said, the rest is predictably terrible and the scenes that she's in look like they were shot with a Nokia Lumia.

Please pay attention to last scene of this "Tie It Up" official video! But can we talk about how perfect she looks in the performance shots? and 1:07 - 1:09, "from a Miss to a Mrs." where she shows off her ring. Or her spin @ 1:25. ADORABLE. eta: by last scene, do you mean the two guys holding hands while jumping into the pool shirtless?

She's super cute in the video, but it's pretty underwhelming.
