It's #1 on UK iTunes now, after being released about 19 hours ago. But the X-Factor finale is in a couple of hours and the winner's single will be going on iTunes right after that. Little Mix sold 210k last year (the average UK #1 sells about 70-120k.)

Sorry, my bad. I thought the finale was next week. Still, this has an advantage of a day and maybe the X Factor viewers might buy S&S too. This still has a chance next week though.

It won't be #1 next week either as that's the Christmas #1 chart campaign week, and some charity single will be #1 like last year. There might be a shot during the gift card weeks after that, but who knows.

I doubt it will be no.1 in UK since xfactor will most likely fend it off, should still be a decent size hit here though. I was half hoping for a campaign to get this to number one instead of Xfactor single like they did in 2009 with Rage Against the Machine Killing in the Name... everyone was sick of xfactor so they campaigned to get that the christmas no.1 and it worked, the xfactor single did get to no1 the week after that though. I dont think anybody realised that both songs were on Sony though, in effect making money for the same company.

Never have I ever experienced such a strong reaction to a song at a club like I did with this last night. EVERYBODY in the club screamed when this came on and they all shouted the "it's britney bitch!" part. I was who shocked! That's never happened before. It was a gay club, of course lol. I met someone in such an environment and we were talking about how we have mixed feelings about the song - i.e. it's terrible but Britney's on it so we have to at least kinda like it.

Just heard this on the radio for the first time. Fuck me it doesn't get any better, does it? Probably the first time I've heard Britney on the radio since at least "Hold It Against Me", probably more like "3" though. So nice of Will.i.am to give a much needed boost to the lessors. :'(

Surely talking like that is never obnoxious, so I don't know what you could possibly mean?! I was just being honest.

Anyway, this is still #4 on iTunes. Is it released to streaming yet? It could potentially sell as much as last week and enter the top 10 on BB from AI gains.

I love this slow (for Brit's standards) & steady rise. Also surprised to see this holding up so well on iTunes. Is it #5 or #4 over there though? I'm confused. ???

Awesome update today! Is this will.i.am's first Top 30 hit on CHR as a solo artist?

It's ridiculous how huge the gap is in the UK. Like seriously.
Anyways, happy to have Brit another top 30 in her catalogue. I also like how this has remained steady on iTunes and I like watching it rise on radio

Yeah, it's the X Factor (UK) finalist's single. They go crazy for those songs every year. You got that right Winners of Popstars, Pop Idol and X-Factor's debuts: 2001: Hear'Say: 550k [Popstars] 2002: Will Young: 1.108 million [Pop Idol series 1] 2002: Gareth Gates: 851k [Pop Idol series 1 runner-up] 2002: Girls Aloud: 213k [Popstars: The Revals] 2003: Michelle McManus: 118k [Pop Idol series 2] X-Factor: 2004: Steve Brookstein: no idea, but under 232k 2005: Shayne Ward: 742k 2006: Leona Lewis: 571k 2007: Leon Jackson: 276k 2008: Alexandra Burke: 576k 2009: Joe McElderry: 451k [RATM sold 502k in the campaign] 2010: Matt Cardle: 439k 2011: Little Mix: 210k [released the week before the Xmas #1 campaing... Military Wives ended up doing 556k the following week] Pretty crazy. James Arthur is probably going to do 300-400k by the looks of things. The average UK #1 these days is like 70-120k.
