Mariah gets her 19th #1.
Kelly gets her Fourth, has a smash early summer tour, marries Brandon Labor Day weekend. Releases first single in October, rivals SUBG for her signature song status, has #1 album Black Friday and Christmas week, with arena tour announced shortly before XMas.
Beyonce has a lovely performance at the superbowl, the hashtag #BeyonceBowl becomes overused before MLK day, she has a #1 lead single from her new project followed by 3 underperforming pop singles, with moderate Rhythmic/Urban success. Tours the summer to sold out arenas.
Pink's TABL fizzles.
Avril flops.
Xtina flounders w/o the Voice.
Rihanna releases a "not greatest hits" album, but a #1s album "for the Navy."

Britney is releasing her 8th album this year. And this is not a prediction but a fact. :'(
Lead single sells 1 million downloads on Black Friday week. It'll be a ballad she performs for the first time at the AMAs and her voice will rival that of Mariah's during her peak. Many people will be losing their lives during that night because of the shock this performance will bring.
The album drops on Xmas week. It sells 1.5 million units in its 1st week in the US and over 4 million worldwide.
A week after the album debuts at #1 in over 200 countries in the world, preparations for her 180 feet statue in the middle of the Pacific Ocean begin.
Facts as well.

Lady Gaga will comeback with the craziest marketing campaign ever, she will literally be everywhere, the album and the first single will debut with big numbers but it will all fizzle out from there.

Rihanna will release her new album November 2013 (duh.)

Lady Gaga will own the year. ARTPOP the album will open to huge numbers and will be a big selling power, hitting more than 7 million worldwide by the end of the calendar year. It will have a successful singles era and be up for a number of Grammy Awards, winning several of them. She will return to form with her music videos and general popularity; the app will be a commercial success. The album will recieve critical acclaim.
Additions: Lana Del Rey's music will have some sort of breakthrough in the United States that will gain her heightened recognition.
Rihanna will have a moderately successful era from here on out. Her album sales should remain somewhat steady but will not exceed levels that Loud accomplished. Diamonds will be her only #1 single from this era.
Taylor Swift will continue with her success with Red. The eponymous song Red will be released to mainstream radio and will become a Hot 100 top 5 hit and a major Pop radio hit. It will end with 2x Platinum in sales by the end of the year. She will be nominated for Album of the Year. I Knew You Were Trouble will recieve multiple nominations at the VMAs.
Janelle Monae will release this year to widespread critical acclaim and will recieve a nomination for Best R&B Album. She will open to greater numbers than ArchAndroid. Commercially, her single(s) will recieve a lukewarm response.
Arcade Fire will also release this year (Q2-Q3) to critical acclaim. They will recieve an Album of the Year nomination.
Pamola Faith will be a new gurl this year on the charts.

and tbh, I don't know why everyone has high expectations for Artpop. I feel like her star is still very huge but nowhere near as big as it was with the BTW era. I don't see it being anywhere near as huge as that era was (in terms of that era initially, since it fizzled out quickly)

This is going to be HUGE on country in spring and cross over during the summer and become a monster hit. I'm already hearing so much buzz about this song, even from people who don't listen/like country.

1: Train will score the first Top Five hit of their career on Country radio, as "Bruises" peaks in July. It will also be their third-consecutive Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 hit from "California 37". "Mermaid" will be their seventh consecutive Top Ten hit on Adult Top 40, peaking at #7, though receiving minimal play at Mainstream Top 40 radio and only denting the lower reaches of the Billboard Hot 100.
2: Luke Bryan will ask Pitbull to be featured on one of the tracks to the forthcoming fifth installment of his annual "Spring Break" EP release. Pitbull will accept, and curiosity toward the odd coupling alone will result in a strong digital sales result out of the gate that will be enough to secure a placement in the lower reaches of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The curiosity will also result in the track charting due to unsolicited spins at #57 on the Hot Country Songs chart, before dropping off the next week. It will remain Pitbull's only appearance on the Country chart.
3: Beyond that, Luke Bryan will have a massive year, both in terms of singles and album sales. The lead single (likely "Dirt Road Diary") will not only go #1 on Country radio......it will debut within the Top Twenty of the Billboard Hot 100 in its first full week of release due to intense hype upon its release. Two subsequent releases will also be country radio chart-toppers. His forthcoming fourth album, upon release, will open with 325,000 in total sales: the best opening week for any male artist since Jason Aldean's "Night Train".
4: Speaking of Pitbull, he will continue to rebound from his stumble with the failed single "Get It Started" last summer. After "Don't Stop The Party" peaks at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100, "Feel This Moment" will follow-up and become his fifth career Top Ten Billboard Hot 100 hit as a lead performer: peaking at #4. "Have Some Fun" will follow suit and peak at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100. The fifth single, "Hope We Meet Again", will be a moderate hit: peaking at #14 on the Mainstream Top 40 and #28 on the Billboard Hot 100. Most of the singles he will be featured on will fail to become breakout hits, but two will prove the exception and neither will be by Latin lead artists (and definitely not Calvin Harris! ;) ).
5: Poor sales figures will result in the beginning of Calvin Harris's commercial decline as a lead artist force. However, he will still produce three singles for other artists (not Rihanna) that will prove to be decisive hits.
6: Example will successfully cross over and secure a Top Ten hit on the Mainstream Top 40.
7: The Wanted will disband in September following continued weak sales in relation to chart rivals One Direction (and jealousy over Max's success with Pitbull on "Have Some Fun"). Internal disagreements and tension will challenge One Direction also, but they will remain a group through year's end at least.
8: "Illusion", Faith Hill's long-awaited new studio album, will fail to debut at #1 on either the Billboard 200 or the Billboard Hot Country Albums charts. It will also fail to produce a Top Ten single on the Country airplay chart.
9: Jason Aldean will continue his hot streak at country radio, securing another #1 with "The Only Way I Know" (despite falling much more rapidly into oblivion compared to his other #1 hits) followed by "Talk" (which will deliver him a career best in terms of total audience impressions upon peaking) and "This Nothin' Town". He will prevail this time in securing the "Entertainer of the Year" award at the 2013 Country Music Awards, but is likely to lose the title the following year to Luke Bryan. "Night Train" will fail to top "My Kinda Party" in total sales figures, but will nonetheless go Double Platinum, ensuring his clout remains intact.
10: Eric Church will potentially score his third #1 off of "Chief" with "Like Jesus Does". He will surprise many and release a sixth single off of the record for kicks, which will be "I'm Gettin' Stoned". It will perform reasonably well, peaking at #8 despite the lack of a video.
11: Matchbox Twenty will never score another Top Ten hit on the Adult Top 40 format again. They will be relegated to the Adult Contemporary format from here on out. Same with Lifehouse.
12: George Strait will never secure another Top Ten hit on the Country airplay chart again, sadly. Aside from the lead single from their next studio album, Rascal Flatts, too, will never score another Top Ten hit on the Country airplay chart again, as well as Josh Turner, Easton Corbin, Darius Rucker and possibly Billy Currington (if the comeback lead single is ineffective)
13: A newly-forged romance will result in Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer being the newest "power couple" at Country radio as well. The former, despite missing the Top Ten with "More Than Miles", will nonetheless pump back strong with his third #1 via the lead single from his forthcoming album. The latter will follow up her debut top five hit ("Why Ya Wanna") with another Top Five ("Whiskey") and set the stage for her first-career #1 hit off of her sophomore album in 2014.
14: Blackberry Smoke will be one of the hottest names to count on breaking out on country radio in 2013.
15: Usher will not be credited a Top Ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 all year long, either as a leading or featured artist.
16: At least fourteen singles with titles that serve as obvious sexual innuendoes will make the Top Twenty on the Country airplay chart alone throughout the 2013 calendar year. Only five of the fourteen will go Top Ten. Two, however, will go #1! ;)
17: Alternative crossovers will remain hot through the third quarter of the year, which at that point will resemble another transition or sea change of sorts and will begin to decline. My money is on Passion Pit and Macklemore leading the charge. Perhaps Atlas Genius.
18: Lana Del Rey will still fail to land a notable hit on any format through this year.
19: At least three of the Year-End Top Ten Hits of 2013 will be from artists who, to a vast majority of listeners, no one knows as of yet much like with Gotye and fun. this year. Neither Katy Perry or Rihanna will have an entry included among them. Taylor Swift is the most likely established artist to secure multiple entries.
20: Halestorm will break out with their first crossover hit, "Here's To Us". They will be the only Active Rock-centric act successful in crossing over throughout 2013.
21: U2 will release the lead single from their forthcoming album in September. It will fail commercially, as well as miss the Top Ten on the Alternative chart, and while the album will debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, it will also be their first studio album EVER to fail to go Platinum.
22: Noel Gallagher (of the defunct Oasis) will make a surprise one-time appearance on the Mainstream Top 40 singles chart through a collaboration with the Swedish House Mafia.
23: LMFAO re-form before year's end, despite not releasing any new material through 2013.

CeCe Frey's debut single will be met with an overwhelmingly positive response. The album will open with lackluster sales and be critically panned, however. In spite of this, Pitchfork will release a belated review praising the album for being pop-art in rare form ("The record comes at the expense of its artist. At times it can be difficult to comprehend this 60 minute fairytale; the story of a woman who knows who she is, but retains her anonymity through her music. Rather, she is what she isn't, and we get it."). The ripple effect will cause the third single to shatter records worldwide, followed by international acclaim and success. The album will go Diamond in 12 countries, including the United States, before year's end.
Britney Spears will release the seventy-fourth book of the Roman Catholic Bible. Unfortunately (?), Pitchfork won't get this.

-The A-Team will pull a Some Nights. Coming close to hitting #1 on both charts but not quite making it. Ed releases his second album in late 2013 that makes him a household name.
-Nicki or Mariah will exit American Idol before the season is over.
-Beyonce makes a huge comeback with her first single being a Hot 100 #1 and her album having huge first week sales. The second single doesn't perform as well as it will be an R&B-leaning song that pop audiences won't warm up as much but the first single will have lasting power.
-Lady GaGa's album will open with sales of just under 500k and the first single won't hit #1 but she'll still win people over with the videos. Her album won't be as acclaimed as her others because people are going to look for ways to point out her flaws, even if it is her best album. She'll start doing more collabs and featured spots.
-Pop radio continues to warm up to folk and lighter rock acts as R&B becomes a major player in mainstream this year. But it will be mostly new Alternative-R&B and not traditional R&B that gets the hits. Meanwhile, folk-rock songs will continue to be big airplay hits and sales hits though few folk-rock artists will have more than one big hit.
-Rihanna goes into rehab and/or some other major scandal as a result of Chris Brown.
-Someone has a public breakdown (RE: rihanna, justin bieber, christina, nicki, adele?)
-Mariah's album will get pushed back to the fall. The first single will be a collaboration but not necessarily with a rapper. Maybe someone like Rihanna. It does well because of this. The album has collaborations with Frank Ocean and/or Kendrick Lamar.
-Eminem's album will come out in the summer with good reviews but his image is softening as he will have collaborations with some surprising guests. (maybe frank ocean?)
-Frank Ocean will be in a few collaborations this year...
-Katy Perry's song comes out at the start of summer and it's a hit but by her standards, underperforms. Doesn't hit #1.
-There will be another minor K-Pop hit in 2013, maybe close to the summer. It isn't as big as Gangnam Style but it opens the door for more K-Pop artists to become known, though no one else will get a pop hit this year.
-Taylor Swift begins to get the cold shoulder at country radio, even with her country releases, while pop radio continues to give her huge hits. She'll try to remedy this by the end of the year somehow and her next album will be her most country yet.
-Taylor will be paired with at least 3 guys in 2013 now that her and Harry are history. The backlash against her grows larger.
-An A-list diva flops with a new album in Q4.
-Lindi Ortega slowly becomes known
-Tegan and Sara will have a crossover hit, a semi-hit album and be constantly present on various lists and publications in 2013.
-A surprise 90s artist makes a comeback with a big hit later in the summer.
-New artists (of late 2012-13) will dominate the year in music.
-Frank Ocean gets a girlfriend.
-Katy Perry gets involved in a catfight with someone on the internet
-Grumpycat appears in a music video

Carrie Underwood :
*. Win her 6th Grammy for Country Solo, 'Blown Away' also win Country Song. She will perform 'Blown Away' at the Grammy with a big production on stage.
*. Will win Female, Single (Blown Away) , Entertainer (and hopefully Album for Blown Away) at the ACM. She will perform.
*. Will host CMA again and perform and nominated for only Female vocal but will not win and will be snubbed again.
*. Will win CMT awards for Female video, not sure about Video of The Year.
*. Will win at least 4 ACAs again.
*. Two Black Cadillacs will top country airplay for 2 weeks and 6 weeks at Country song
*. Blown Away will chart on the Hot AC for another 2 months, but it will be in the 27-40 range only.
*. Will release 2 more singles after Two Black Cadillacs. It will peak at number one (Airplay and Country Song).
*. Blown Away album will pass 2 million at the end of the year.
*. Blown Away tour will be her biggest tour yet.
*. Her act as Maria will get positive acclaim and she will win some awards for it.
Britney Spears :
*. Will release album this year (Oct/Nov), with lead single (Aug)
*. Lead single will break at least 3 records. It will debut with over 700k digital download, over 60 million AI radio, and debut #1.
*. Album will debut over 700k and will remain strong on the chart and will be in the top 3 best selling album.
*. She will try K-Pop music thing (Like Girls Generation) and she will (again) set standard in music , like she did with HIAM and the dubstep thing.
*. She will perform and promo more than FF and Circus, public and fans will finally see the spark in her eyes again and she will be less awkward.
*. Her second single will sell over 500k in first week and debuted #1 on BB100. It will be released 1 week before the album drops.
*. Her lead single video will be intense and will be one of her sexiest and colorful videos. The second single video will be another masterpiece.
*. Will kick in her world tour in 2014.
*. Will finally perform at the VMAs again and will snatch all the female singers' wigs.

beyonce will continue her decline in singles performace but will continue to move albums like she always does.
artpop will be moderately successful. wont reach btw sales but singles will perform slightly better overall
rihanna wont get another #1. sales will likely be struggling and lower than ttt.
britney will slay these bitches dead. kidding. will get two more top 5 hits and other sizeable hits. will struggle to sell album if she wont promote. s&s will become the biggest song of the year
a newcomer will score a surprise #1 hit and disappear into oblivion like crj

-Beyone's lead single will do well, but a major young singer's death will cause it to plummet down the charts as that artist's music will fill the charts -a major young singer will die from a drug overdose -Azealia Banks will get dropped -Christina Aguilera will release another album in the 3rd quarter and it will do well -Mariah will launch the first new single from her album at the Idol finale and it will be huge all summer long and her album comes out in the 3rd quarter -Lady Gaga's 1st single will do only moderately well but the album will do fine (400-600k in the first week) -Rihanna will take a short break after releasing a greatest hits album with 3 new songs that are singles -Madonna will release a new single in the 4th quarter -Justin Timberlake will release the first single from his 3rd album in the 4th quarter -The Wanted will have a couple medium sized hits, but the new album will underperform -U2 will release a new album -Depeche Mode will release a new album -a major 80s Dance classic will be sampled and bring that artist new success -a proper anthology of Donna Summer's unreleased music will be released
