Awful videos this year compared to last year but deserving top 2

^ Every year this has more and more to do with what the biggest hits were, rather than the best videos. Also more Top 40-leaning than their typically Hot AC-leaning countdown.

1 "Somebody That I Used to Know" Gotye feat. Kimbra Very unique and interesting video. Deserving for #1.
2 "We Are Young" fun. feat. Janelle Monáe Very creative idea for a video.
3 " Payphone" Maroon 5 Interesting video, but I wouldn't rank it this high.
4 "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" Kelly Clarkson Lol. It's a cute video and all, but not in the top four for the year.
5 "Ho Hey" The Lumineers I find the video to this pretty boring.
6 "Where Have You Been" Rihanna This is a kick-ass video! It should be top 5.
7 "Drive By" Train I don't even remember how this video goes.
8 "Lights" Ellie Goulding It has a lot of cool effects, but it's not that great of a video.
9 "Call Me Maybe" Carly Rae Jepsen The video to this is pretty hilarious. Nice to see good recognition for the video itself.
10 "I Will Wait" Mumford & Sons Never seen it.
11 "Set Fire to the Rain" Adele BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
12 "Everybody Talks" Neon Trees Never seen it.
13 "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" P!nk The cinematography is good, but I found the video to be pretty dull.
14 "Whistle" Flo Rida It's just a bunch of half-naked women in the water while Flo is singing on some rocks. Pretty bland.
15 "Give Your Heart a Break" Demi Lovato Cute video. I love the picture made out of pictures.
16 "The A Team" Ed Sheeran Never seen it.
17 "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" Taylor Swift I love this song's video. Although, the band in the furry suits is majorly creepy.
18 "Locked Out of Heaven" Bruno Mars Never seen it.
19 "Wide Awake" Katy Perry Very cool video! I love how everything symbolizes her career. Awesome effects. Should be higher.
20 "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)" Ne-Yo Never seen it.
Decent list I guess.

Oh I didnt know that was official. Well, not "official" official but it was used as the promotional video for the music channels (MTV Hits, VH1, Fuse).

Keeping in mind that VH1 airs less than 8 hours of actual music video programming during the day, their list isn't that bad.

^ I assume this isn't "The 20 Best Music Videos of the Year," but instead "The Top 20 Songs That Happen to Have Videos We Played a Lot During the Year." In other words, whatever you think of the quality of the video, that wasn't taken into account in this list.
So I see they've pared the list down from 40, which it had been since, I believe, 2002, to 20. Did they at least keep the show at two hours to play all (or most) of the videos, or did they lop that in half too?

^ It was a two hour show and they played all of the videos. Although, it was basically a year end special from the VH1 top 20 countdown.
