YOUR TOP 15: We dreamed a dream that Republic's Les Misérables soundtrack would occupy the top of the chart barricade, and woke up and found it was true: The box-office phenom's OST will claim the #1 spot in its third week of release. Here's what we hope is a somewhat accurate look at the first chart of 2013.
Les Misérables (Republic) 120-130k One Direction (Syco/Columbia) 95-105k Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 85-95k Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 85-95k Phillip Phillips (19/Interscope) 60-70k Pitch Perfect (UMe) 55-60k Lumineers (Dualtone) 50-55k Bruno Mars (Atlantic) 50-55k P!nk (RCA) 50-55k Alicia Keys (RCA) 45-50k Now 44 (Capitol) 35-40k Maroon 5 (A&M/Octone) 35-40k Justin Bieber (Island/Def Jam) 35-40k Imagine Dragons (Interscope) 35-40k Kendrick Lamar (Aftermath/Interscope) 30-35k T.I. (Grand Hustle/Atlantic) 30-35k
None of the other dreams we've had lately have manifested as chart developments, but since they mostly involve us suddenly being naked in Spanish class, that's probably a good thing. (1/3p)

How much is Unapologetic up to? Not sure if its because Diamonds is waning or not but it seems that a lot of people that were here for Loud and TTT are not here for Unapologetic. Besides it doing well last week because of the Amazon sale, it has slid pretty quickly since it's debut. And now it's not even on track to sell 30k. May take a while to get to 1 million.

Really impressed with Phillip(s). Taylor, of course, too. And Pink!

A number of them are probably doing well thanks to the $6.99 iTunes sale.

I'm glad Pink and Alicia are back in the Top 10.
Maroon 5 will cross 1 million scanned next week.
Pink might too. It'll be close.
Imagine Dragons, Phillip Phillips, Alicia Keys and Bruno Mars will cross 500k scanned soon.

They haven't even begun promotion of the 2nd single.

Imagine Dragons, Phillip Phillips, Alicia Keys and Bruno Mars will cross 500k scanned soon. Phillip Phillips will pass 500k scanned with BB200 date 1/12/13, so by next week he'll be closer to 600k.

I'm surprised at 1D's numbers. Where did that come from?

1D is apart of the $6.99 sale on iTunes.

1D's sales are incredible. This album is quickly approaching Up All Night's sales.
Mumford & Sons are also doing great, and should get their second 2-million seller. P!nk will be flying past 1-million soon, and The Lumineers will get there eventually, too.

Hey now look at that Alicia Keys is holding up really well! I know! She may even be able to flirt with 1 million if she gets a strong 2nd/3rd single on the R&B charts.

1D is apart of the $6.99 sale on iTunes. If Taylor was part of the sale she would be giving Les Miserables a run for their money.

I had a feeling Les Misérables would sneak into #1. The movie is doing very well at the box office and with the award season. I think Taylor will be able to climb back to #1 in another week or 2.

Didn't expect Pitch Perfect OST to be doing this well after so many months. Is it on sale or something?

Alicia looks like she'll hold on well for a while. "Girl On Fire" is back to rising up well in airplay now the freeze is losing its grip and "Brand New Me" is rising well on Urban and very well on Urban AC. :)

Wow how awesome for Les Mis!!! Loved the movie too! First theatrical soundtrack to top the charts since Mamma Mia right? Twilight, Hannah Montana movie, and The Hunger Games soundtracks all hit #1 since then. Unless you're referring to strictly musicals then the last one would be Mamma Mia.

^ And if you are just looking at musicals, then it may be important to distinguish between "theatrical" (live theatre) and "cinematic" (film)
