"Hostage" sounds straight from Kelly's "My December" album. Which is a good thing.
"Free the Animal" for a single please.

I can't @ the dust she paid The Weeknd on Elastic Heart. It makes it seem like the collab was an inorganic result of a brain fart between corporate executives and Sia being Sia was like, "Well, this is my album sooo..." As much as Fire Meets Gasoline sounds like somewhat of a Halo retread, it's actually MUCH better than that song (and Halo is one of my all time favorite Beyonce songs.) It's the song on the album that almost brought me to tears. As for Dressed In Black, those adlibs at the end gave me goosebumps. They are what made me fall in love with this woman originally. Also, I can't say enough good things about Hostage. While I usually love Sia much more for her ballads than uptempos (excluding Clap Yo Hands, which is perfection), Hostage is probably one of her best songs ever. This feeling is rough, but I can't get enough. The secret life of us keeps me in handcuffs. Plus, Nick Valensi of the Strokes makes a great partner for her. She proved it with We Are Born but Hostage is better than any of the uptempos on that album. I need to spend more time with the album but Chandelier, Big Girls Cry, Eye of the Needle, Fire Meets Gasoline, Dressed In Black, Hostage, and Elastic Heart ALONE make it her best album by far.

I tried to match each song to an artist she could have given it to, and Hostage instantly made me think of Kelly. She could also have sang the HELL out of Fire Meet Gasoline. Big Girls Cry needs to be a single, but with radio being simple as hell about the much bigger/poppier Chandelier, I don't know if it could get traction. It would also be criminal if we don't get a Fire Meet Gasoline single release.

Love the album. I think "Burn the Pages" should be the 2nd single.

Nah. It's too similar to Chandelier. Fire Meet Gasoline please.

I seriously tried to get into this, but respectfully to Sia (as I do recognize and appreciate her considerable talent as both a songwriter and a vocalist), I simply could not get past her distracting enunciation. I realize it's an artistic choice, but it doesn't make for an appealing listening experience (to me) and just takes me out of the song when it should draw me closer to it.

Am I the only one who thinks her voice often sounds a LOT like Allison Iraheta? I hear it a ton on Hostages but really anything. Allison also tends to have enunciation issues so it could be a combo of that and the raspiness.

Surely you're not comparing the seasoned Sia Kate Isobelle Furler to an American Idol runner-up?

Surely you're not comparing the seasoned Sia Kate Isobelle Furler to an American Idol runner-up? OK BMAC dropping the full government name. I couldn't tell you one song that Alison sings. I just know that she is now backup for current AI contestants on the show. That said, it's definitely possible to say two vocalists sound alike. If the poster said that Sia's vocals were inspired by Alison's...well...

I just said their voices sound similar! Not comparing careers or anything. Iraheta had one hell of a debut album. Too bad it didn't do much.

The hype is right. This album is one of my favorites of 2014 so far. "Eye of the Needle" and "Hostage" as 2nd and 3rd single, please.

Big Girls Cry and Burn The Pages need to be the next two singles. OMG yes. I suspect Eye Of The Needle will also come out soon, but it'd be a travesty if these two got ignored.

What? I thought Big Girls Cry was a no-brainer for the 2nd single. Whatever, hopefully it'll be next.

'Burn the Pages' is confirmed as new single. Actually surprised by this choice, if it is offish-offish announced as a single. It doesn't seem like the kind of thing Pop would be interested in right now. Maybe Alt. though? She needs momentum, because BGC and FMG need to be released. EDIT: Oh, just saw the official announcement. Cover is fun:

This album is just so damn good. Aside from Chandelier being my song of the year so far, every other track is good to great. It just gets better and better on repeat listens.
Anyways am kinda bummed if Burn the Pages is next. I mean it's awesome, but Big Girls Cry and Fire Meet Gasoline are so obviously the songs with real hit potential imo. I actually think both could be mainstream hits riding Chandelier's wave. Burn the Pages not so sure though...

"Burn the Pages" is one of the few tracks on the album that doesn't do anything for me unfortunately. I would have went with "Big Girls Cry" "Eye of the Needle" or "Hostage". I doubt anything will do as well as "Chandelier" though.

Not getting a bunch of celebrities to lip sync "Chandelier" while Sia sings in the background on the VMAs tomorrow is a huge missed opportunity.
