Based on very preliminary data, we're giving the edge to Bruno Mars for #1 next week, thanks in part to a one-day $1.99 sale at Amazon MP3. His album, along with several other hit titles, remains priced under $5 this morning. Here are this week's key debuts:
Hillsong United (Hillsong) 35-40k Atoms For Peace (XL) 25-30k Michael Bolton (Montaigne) 12-17k Mavericks (Valory) 10-15k

^I've seen very little promotion for it. I'm not surprised.

35-40k for #1? No, they don't say how much they predict for Bruno.

Bruno Mars Eyeing First No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart NEWS By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | February 27, 2013 8:08 PM EST
Bruno Mars could notch his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 next week, thanks to Amazon MP3.
On Feb. 26, the digital retailer offered a bevy of albums for just $1.99, including Bruno Mars' latest, "Unorthodox Jukebox." Sources say that the title could jump to No. 1 on next week's Billboard 200 chart, thanks to robust sales from Amazon MP3.
It's a bit early to say exactly how much " Unorthodox Jukebox" could sell in the week ending March 3. But don't rule out a figure in the range of 70,000 to 80,000, which should be enough to fend off the rest of the chart competition. (Discounted sales of "Unorthodox Jukebox" count toward its weekly total because the album has been out for more than four weeks; Billboard doesn't count sales of albums priced below $3.49 in their first four weeks of release.)
If "Unorthodox Jukebox" does hit No. 1, it will be Mars' first chart-topper. His first album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" (2010) reached No. 3, while "Unorthodox" has peaked at No. 2 -- where it debuted.
The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of March 6.
In "Unorthodox's" 11 weeks on the chart, the Atlantic Records set has shifted 865,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It returned to its No. 2 peak this week on the chart, as it rose 3-2 with another 48,000 sold.
The album has yet to leave the top 10 so far, and is currently riding high thanks in part to the popularity of its current single, "When I Was Your Man." The song jumps 16-11 on the Pop Songs airplay tally this week, while also hiking 4-3 on the Digital Songs chart (229,000; up 6%).
Other titles that were offered for the one-day-only price of $1.99 include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "The Heist," Tegan and Sara's "Heartthrob" and Muse's "The 2nd Law."

^He's estimating. See the "?"? "?" Usually means the person is asking a question. Also, I don't see how anyone can get an estimation given the information provided in the OP. and would you look at that!? 35-40k isn't close to their actual prediction.

I skimmed the OP too fast and thought 35-40k was for Bruno, not that Hillsong thingy.

How is this any different from the stunt Lady GaGa pulled? Very rarely does an album hit number one 11 weeks (or more) after its debut (save for Grammy winners and/or anomalies like Adele). Bruno already has a built in fan base and 2 top 10 singles (including a number one) and yet the album never hit number one. So what does his label do... discount it to a rock bottom price in a slow week to ensure it hits number one. Imagine the outcry if Rihanna had pulled that stunt with her past albums... I at least have respect for her last album hitting number one because it did it legitimately. Her label may have been "creative" with her #1 singles, but I'm not cheering for Bruno this coming week.
I was surprised Les Miserables didn't have a shot after the Oscars performance and it also hitting #1 on itunes after the show.

Without the Amazon boost for Bruno, would the week would be in contention for all-time low sales for a #1?

Taylor out of the top 10. That's okay, though. 3.4 million in 4 months isn't a joke.

It's insane that Adele could re-enter the top 10!
Anyway, I am glad Bruno Mars will get to #1. His album deserves it considering it already has 2 hits and he's been stuck at #2 behind some big albums.
I remain confused as to why the $1.99 prices only count after 4 weeks of release; either count them all of the time or not at all. Why are they more valid once an album has been out for a month? Weird.

Amazon discounted it, but I don't think it's a coincidence it was discounted the week tickets go on sale for his tour. Let people buy the album for cheap, then drop $100 on a concert ticket.

Snatch Bruno Snatch
Best pop album of 2012, I'm so glad he didn't flop in his sophomore era like Nicki and Ke$ha.

Snatch Bruno Snatch Best pop album of 2012, I'm so glad he didn't flop in his sophomore era like Nicki and Ke$ha. Did Nicki really flop with her last album? It sold over 800k and is still shifting a few thousand a week. It didn't match the sales of the first Pink Friday but unlike Ke$ha it didn't/isn't going to struggle to reach 500k.

It defintley underperformed, but like you said, it's still shifting something. Her singles did more of the selling this go around.
Now Ke$ha..idk..I blame RCA :(
