These sound awesome. I love live recordings, particularly ones that capture the energy of the crowd throughout each song, as this does.

More information about the new George Strait CD:
As for the rest of the album, the singer has done a lot of writing with his pal, Dean Dillon ("The Chair," "Ocean Front Property"), and his son, Bubba Strait ("Living for the Night," "Here for a Good Time"). Love Is Everything is already available for pre-order here.

Was hoping Strait would go a different direction on this one instead of the same old writers.

... George has always been a man of consistency and the very model for "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." (And, frankly, the only one whom I would say can get away with it.) I can't imagine him changing things up now... I don't want to see him dilute his brand for the sake of 'going in a different direction' this late into his impeccable career.

Hasn't he been going in a different direction though on the past few albums? George Strait has hardly done any of his own songwriting in his career up until the last couple albums (starting with Twang and continuing on Here for a Good Time and Love Is Everything). I don't think it's same old, same old to see him writing more for this record, considering his writing credits are almost nonexistant pre-2009.

Fair point, indulge. I will concede that point. :) But the Dean Dillon songs is nothing new... in fact, the Dillon songs go way, way back (and are some of George's finest songs imo). I guess I just don't consider him taking on the songwriting reins as a "new direction" because the music itself is still so inherently George, if that makes sense.

My response was more intended for cjbhab's original comment and focusing more on George writing w/ his son (because he's really only done that a handful of times now -- but the output of his last album proves that he certainly can write if he chooses to, so not sure why it took him so long) than Dean Dillon's presence. I like that he still uses Dean Dillon, because you're right on the money with that one and the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality. He's obviously served him well over the years. ;)

He's obviously served him well over the years. ;) George Strait never really needed to write his own stuff or - most likely - particularly cared to. He made his living touring and through recording sales. His son showed interested in writing and perhaps that sparked some creativity in George too. Something to do with his child that was around their shared love of music. The co-writes with Dean make sense too because of What Dean Dillon brings to the sessions and being the pro, he could 'craft' the songs so to speak. Some of their songs have been very good while others have been so-so, just like any other writer. It'll be interesting to see how many of those songs make the cut on this album.

Yea, Perhaps he is going in a new direction.. go back to the old one.. most of the songs He and Bubba have written have been subpar.

Texas Artist Kyle Park has released a new record today titled "Beggin For More".
Took some time for me getting used to his voice, but i'm surprised he hasn't been brought to Nashville yet. A really unique voice and sound thats fits country music.

May 7th, 2013Pistol Annies Annie UpSony Nashville/Columbia 8. Trading One Heartbreak For Another That's an Angaleena song. The only one I'm recognizing from the tracklist. They did bring up some more songs from her old catalogue on the first album... This is a nice song, traditional sounding, but not my favourite from her. Hopefully she does include those on her solo album

The Pistol Annies members wrote all the tracks on their album (to no surprise). Most of the songs were written by all 3 of them but that's not the case for every song. Here are the writing credits:
1. I Feel A Sin Comin' On - Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley
2. Hush Hush - Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley
3. Being Pretty Ain't Pretty - Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley
4. Unhappily Married - Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley
5. Loved By A Workin' Man - Angaleena Presley
6. Blues, You're A Buzz Kill – Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley
7. Don't Talk About Him, Tina - Miranda Lambert/Angaleena Presley
8. Trading One Heartbreak For Another - Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley
9. Dear Sobriety - Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe
10. Damn Thing - Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley
11. Girls Like Us - Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley
12. I Hope You're The End Of My Story - Miranda Lambert/Ashley Monroe/Angaleena Presley

Listening to Blake's new record from the link given. What are the chances that he will release tracks 8-10 (or even through 12) to radio? Those are the best songs on the record IMO. Love the sound of Lay Low and I think Still Got A Finger is pretty clever.

You can't preorder Spitfire by Leann Rimes anymore. I'm sure it's mistake but on barnes&noble they list the release date as december 31 2025. 2025 WTF??
Also on the uk amazon release date is now changed from April 1 to April 15

There's been nothing since "Borrowed" was thrown out there back in December and got virtually no airplay at all, so I wouldn't be surprised given Curb's history. I just hope they get a new single out relatively soon and the album can follow sometime before the year is over.

It doesn't matter what LeAnn releases. She hasn't had a hit in years. When it comes to singles making a difference in album sales, whether a song hits #40 or doesn't chart at all won't make hardly any difference. It's only when a song gets top 30 or especially top 20 that it will help sell an album. There's really not much difference in a low-peaking song (which her last several singles have been) and a song that doesn't even chart (such as "Borrowed").
I wouldn't look into it too much. If they delay it, it's not because it hasn't produced a hit single...because radio isn't going to play anything by her anyway. If it's delayed, it's just Curb being Curb, but again, I'm not looking into it too much yet.

I'm well aware of her chances both of getting a hit and for Curb making it happen, but that doesn't change my point that Curb may still have delayed an album on that basis. They pushed back Lady & Gentlemen several times in efforts to get her a hit, and while ultimately the best they could do is scraping the Top 40 w/ "Crazy Women," they still held off on putting the album out several times. I hope they still release Spitfire as planned, but there's been such little information about it that I'm starting to think it may not be coming out so soon. I mean, why else is pre-ordering no longer an option? The album is scheduled for the same week as Wheelhouse and there's a big difference between the two as to what we've heard.

Trace Adkins "Love Will..."(Show Dog-Universal Records) Album Release Date: May 14Track List:1. When I Stop Loving You 2. So What If I Do 3. Come See Me 4. Right Now 5. Every One Of You 6. The Altar Of Your Love 7. Kiss You All Over (Featuring Exile) 8. If The Sun Comes Up 9. Say No To A Woman 10. Watch The World End (Featuring Colbie Caillat) 11. Love Will Source: Amazon * Looks like Trace and SDU are giving up on mainstream country radio..."Them Lips (On Mine)" flopped big time, missing the top 50, and it's not even gonna be on this album, apparently. I guess they could still release a single but Trace has never been a fast climber so a single released now wouldn't even be top 30 (and maybe not even top 40) by the time the album comes out on May 14.
